Cura e manutenzione del Fagotto
Come assemblare il fagotto:
Prima di procedere al montaggio dello strumento applicare un sottile strato di grasso ai vari sugheri degli innesti.
1. Inserire l’aletta (o piccolo corpo) nell’apposito foro della culatta facendo attenzione a far corrispondere le
articolazioni superiore ed inferiore. Non applicare una forza eccessiva sulle chiavi.
2. Inserire il gran corpo nel secondo foro della culatta, facendo attenzione alla direzione dello stesso in funzione del
piccolo corpo. Non applicare una forza eccessiva sulle chiavi.
3. Bloccare l’aletta al gran corpo con l’apposito fermo.
4. Montare la campana, facendo attenzione alla giusta corrispondenza della chiave.
5. Montare il bilanciere nell’occhiello che si trova dietro alla culatta.
6. Avvitare il poggia-mano (o “baghero”).
7. Inserire la “esse” nell’aletta solo dopo aver agganciato lo strumento all’imbragatura.
8. Inserire l’ancia.
Non usare mai eccessiva forza per evitare che lo strumento si spezzi.
Manutenzione cura quotidiana
Smontare, asciugare e riporre sempre lo strumento nella custodia dopo l’utilizzo:
1. Fare sempre molta attenzione per non rovinare l’ancia e riporla nelle apposite confezioni.
2. Asciugare lo strumento passandoci all’interno l’apposito panno in dotazione; se necessario inserire tra tamponi
meccanici e il legno carta adatta a farli asciugare (non deve rimanere umidità a contatto con le parti principali del
fagotto).
3. Asciugare gli innesti con un panno morbido.
4. Pulire le chiavi a secco con un panno morbido.
Altri accorgimenti
Per asciugare i tamponi utilizzare cartine da sigarette.
Non riporre i panni umidi nella custodia dello strumento. L’umidità può causare ruggine sulle molle e la decolorazione
delle chiavi.
Dato che il Fagotto Ida Maria Grassi è in legno:
1. Nel caso di un nuovo strumento, non suonare continuativamente per più di 30 minuti al giorno durante il primo
mese.
2. Evitare qualsiasi cambio rapido di temperatura e umidità.

Care and maintenance of the bassoon
How to assemble the bassoon:
Before proceeding with the assembly of the instrument make sure to apply a thin layer of cork grease on the corked
ends of the joints of the instrument.
1. Place the wing in the specific hole of the boot joint. Match the superior and inferior articulations. Be careful not to
apply too much pressure on the keys.
2. Insert the bass joint into the second hole of the boot joint carefully so as not to have the two bodies touch. Do not to
apply too much pressure on the keys.
3. Block the wing to the bass joint with the specific stop.
4. Assemble the bell being careful to the correct key correspondence.
5. Assemble the balance wheel inside the eyelet located behind the boot joint.
6. Screw in the hand rest.
7. Insert the bocal in the wing only after having hooked the instrument to the harness.
8. Insert the reed.
Never use to much pressure when assembling the instrument in order to avoid breakage.
Maintenance and Daily Care
Disassemble dry and always put the instrument back in its case after use:
1. Always be careful with the reed and put it in its original case.
2. Dry the instrument by passing the dry cloth provided inside of the instrument; if necessary insert some paper
between the metal pads and the wood to dry them (Humidity must not remain in contact with the primary parts of the
bassoon).
3. Dry the inserts with a soft cloth.
4. Clean the keys with a dry soft cloth.
Additional precautions
Use cigarette paper to dry the pads. Do not leave humid cloths in the instrument case. Humidity can cause rust on the
springs as well as color loss to the keys. Considering that the Ida Maria Grassi bassoon is in wood:
1. Regarding new instruments, do not play your instrument consecutively for more than 30 minutes a day during the
first month.
2. Avoid any rapid change of temperature and humidity.
