The assembly and electrical installation must be carried out
by a qualified electrician.
Be careful when unpacking the lamp and wear the gloves
supplied to avoid damaging the lacquered surface.
We recommend that the assembly be carried out by two
people.
Caution: Switch off or remove the fuse for the mains supp-
ly before beginning the installation.
The lamp weighs a total of 12 kg. Please make sure the cei-
ling is capable of taking the strain.
Assembly
Preparations for assembly:
The lamp is fitted with a separately switchable and
dimmable up- und downlight.
The separate switching function requires a connection
with four leads: one earth, one neutral, and two separately
switchable and dimmable phase leads. If there is only one
circuit, the up- and downlight will be switched and dimmed
together.
Assembling the canopy:
Open the canopy (1) by unscrewing the retaining ring (2)
and removing the cover (3). The screws and plugs for the
ceiling fixture are inside the canopy. Use the canopy as a
template to mark the drill holes. 1
Caution: Please take care to ascertain the exact position
of all electrical wiring, so as to avoid drilling into it.
Drill the two 6 mm-diameter holes, insert the S6 plugs and
screw the canopy firmly to the ceiling. Remove an 8 cm
section of the outer covering from the mains cable and strip
about 5mm from the ends of the leads. Connect the leads
English
to the contacts in the terminal attached to the canopy, as
shown in circuit diagram A or B. 2
Assembling the suspension cables:
Determine the position of the two drill holes for the fixture,
as shown in fig. 1.
Caution: Please take care to ascertain the exact position
of all electrical wiring, so as to avoid drilling into it.
Drill the two 8mm-diameter holes, insert the plugs and
attach the external parts (4) of the cable fixture with the
screws. Screw the internal parts (5) of the fixture with the
threaded-in cable and ball (6) into the external parts. Make
sure that the fixture is securely in place! 1
Attaching and adjusting the lamp
Important: Please wear the gloves supplied to avoid fin-
germarks on the white surface.
One person holds the lamp while the second person
threads the cable ends from the ceiling down into the cable
holders (7) at either side of the lamp. For this it is necessary
to loosen the knurled nut (8) on the cable holder.
The horizontal position of the lamp should be checked
before determining the exact height at which it is to hang.
If the lamp is to hang from an angle on the horizontal axis,
the cable holder will have to be adjusted accordingly on the
transverse cable. To do this, loosen the retaining screw (9)
on the cable holder (7), using the Allen key supplied. Do
not remove the retaining screw altogether. Adjust the cable
holder on the transverse cable until the lamp hangs horizon-
tally and tighten the retaining screw (9) to prevent slippage.
Finalize the height of the lamp by lifting it up and pulling the
slack cables through the holders.
To correct the height, loosen the knurled nuts and push
them downwards, with the cables slack. Pull the cable out
until the lamp is at the required height, but do not trim
