• The appliance has been

designed specically for the

purpose of foaming milk and

other dairy milk alternatives

and is not intended to whip,

thicken or heat other food

substances e.g. oil, eggs,

butter, heavy whipping cream,

soups, gravies etc.

• The appliance is not designed

to mix a large quantity of dry

ingredients or melt large food

pieces e.g. cubed chocolate,

ground nuts, whole spices,

fresh herbs, ice cubes etc.

• The underside of the jug must

always be clean and dry before

placing onto the power base.

• Attach the jug lid securely to

the jug before operation.

Do not remove the jug lid

during operation.

• Use caution when pouring

foamed milk from the jug as the

jug and hot milk may scald.

• Do not operate the appliance

without liquid. Always ll to at

least the ‘MIN’ marking and no

more than the ‘MAX’ marking

inside the jug.

• The jug must only be used

with the power base provided.

reasonable protection against

This product generates, uses, and

can radiate radio frequency energy

and, if not used in accordance

with the instructions, may cause

harmful interference to radio

communications. There is no

guarantee that interference will not

occur in a particular installation.

• The installation of a residual

current safety switch is

recommended to provide

additional safety when using

SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS

Your Sage

appliance is tted

with a short power supply cord

as a safety precaution to prevent

personal injury or property

damage resulting from pulling,

tripping or becoming entangled

with a longer cord.

Do not allow children to use or

be near this appliance without

close adult supervision. Longer

detachable power supply cords

or extension cords are not

recommended but may be used if

care is exercised. If an extension

cord is used, (1) the marked

electrical rating of the cord set or

extension cord should be at least

as great as the electrical rating

of the appliance, (2) the cord

should be arranged so that it will

not drape over the countertop

or tabletop where it can be

pulled on by children or tripped

over unintentionally and (3) the

extension cord must include

a 3-prong grounding plug.

The symbol shown

indicates that this appliance

should not be disposed of

in normal household waste.

It should be taken to a local

authority waste collection centre

designated for this purpose or to

OPERATING YOUR SAGE

MILK CAFÉ

™

FROTHING HOT MILK

1. Place the milk frother on a at level surface

and plug the power cord into a 220–240V

power outlet. The START | STOP button

surround will illuminate.

2. Select the ‘Capp’ or ‘Latté’ frothing disc.

Choose the ‘Capp’ disc for thick and

creamy froth or the ‘Latté’ disc for smooth

and silky milk.

3. Insert the frothing disc onto the shaft at

the base of the milk jug. Ensure the disc

is inserted the correct way with the

wider part of the disc at the bottom

of the jug. The disc should ‘click’ securely

onto the shaft.

NOTE

If the disc is not inserted correctly it may

dislodge during operation, a grinding noise

may be heard, or milk will not swirl.

WARNING

Frothing disc is a choking

hazard. Children must always

be supervised and never left

unattended with the appliance.

4. Pour the required amount of cold, fresh (or

freshly opened) milk into the milk jug then

cover with the jug lid.

NOTE

Never operate without the minimum level

of liquid in the milk jug. The milk frother

will automatically turn o if the milk jug is

empty. If this occurs, you will need to wait

for the milk frother to cool down before re-

use, refer to page page 8.

5. Ensure the jug lid is securely attached. Place

the milk jug onto the power base.

6. Turn the START / STOP push-dial to the

desired temperature.

7. Only press the START / STOP push-dial

once, rmly. Frothing has started once the

milk frother beeps once and the button



NOTE

Do not remove the milk jug from the power

base during operation. Doing so may

dislodge the frothing disc and cause a

grinding noise. Always press the centre of the

START / STOP push-dial before removing the

jug. Operation has stopped once the button

surround has stopped ashing.

WARNING

Appliance surfaces will be hot

during and after operation.

8. Clean the milk jug and frothing disc

immediately after use. Refer to Care

& Cleaning.

NOTE

When frothing multiple batches, to prevent

the Boil Dry Protection from activating, we

recommend allowing the milk jug to cool

for approximately 5 minutes, or lling the

milk jug with water for faster cooling.

USING THE ‘COLD STIR’ SETTING

The ‘Cold Stir’ setting allows you to stir already

cold or hot milk without additional heat.

Use it to froth milk for cold beverages such as

an iced cappuccino; to blend in syrups and

avourings for an iced chocolate or mocha;

or to stir in dissolvable instant drinking powders

into milk or water.

NOTE

The milk frother has been designed

specically for the purpose of foaming milk

and other dairy milk alternatives and is

not intended to whip, thicken or heat other

food substances eg. oil, eggs, butter, heavy

whipping cream, soups, gravies etc.

The milk frother is not designed to mix a

large quantity of dry ingredients or melt large

food pieces eg. cubed chocolate, ground

nuts, whole spices, fresh herbs or ice cubes.

ADDING INGREDIENTS

Always allow the milk frother to start for

a few seconds before using the measuring

cap to gradually add ingredients.

Always add ingredients slowly and in small

quantities.

NOTE

Frothing results dier depending on the

ingredients used. For example, adding

dense ingredients like thick syrups, heavy

powders and large akes can signicantly

reduce the amount of foam.

SAFETY FEATURES

Boil Dry, Overheating Protection

The milk frother will automatically cease to

operate if the milk jug overheats. This can

be caused if the milk jug is empty, if liquid is

below the MIN measurement marking, or after

consecutive uses. If this occurs, 3 alerts will

sound. Unplug the power cord from the power

outlet, wait approximately 5 minutes for the milk

frother to cool down or ll the milk jug with water

for faster cooling.

Thermal Fuse & Current Protection

This feature protects the milk frother in case

of major fault. If this occurs, the milk frother

will automatically turn o and will not reactivate.

CARE & CLEANING FOR YOUR SAGE

MILK CAFÉ

Both the milk jug and frothing disc should be

cleaned immediately after each use to prevent

build-up of milk residue.

1. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet

before cleaning.

2. The milk jug and frothing disc will be hot

immediately after use, so carefully remove

the milk jug from the power base and ll with

tap water. Once the milk jug and frothing disc

have cooled completely, remove the frothing

disc and rinse o any milk in warm water.

3. Wash the milk jug, jug lid, measuring cap

and frothing disc in warm soapy water, rinse

and dry thoroughly.

The seal from the lid can be removed and

washed separately.

4. Wipe the exterior of the power base with

a soft damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.

NOTE

Do not use alkaline or abrasive cleaning

agents, steel wool or scouring pads on any

part of the milk frother as these can damage

the appliance surfaces.

NOTE

Never immerse the power base in water

or any other liquid. The outside of the milk

jug must always be clean and dry before

placing on the power base prior to use.

NOTE

The milk jug, jug lid, measuring cap and

frothing discs can be washed in

the dishwasher (top shelf only). However

to extend the life of the frothing discs, we

recommend these are washed by hand.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE WHAT TO DO

Milk is not

foaming?

• Milk is warm or too

hot to foam.

• Use cold, fresh (or freshly opened) milk.

• Do not re-foam already heated milk.

• Try reducing the quantity of milk in the milk jug.

• Try a dierent milk. Some milks and milk brands

produce more froth than others. For example, we

have found that some soy milks produce froth while

others do not. Experiment with dierent milk options

and frothing discs to achieve the desired result.

• Adding dense ingredients like thick syrups, heavy

powders and large akes can signicantly reduce

the amount of foam. This is normal.

Milk is not

heating?

• Ensure the milk jug is correctly positioned onto the

power base.

• Ensure that the milk frother has been properly

activated. Frothing has started once the milk frother

beeps once and the button surround slowly ashes.

If the milk frother does not do this, re-push the

START / STOP push-dial once, rmly.

• Increase the temperature by turning the

START / STOP push-dial to the right.

Frothing

disc is not

moving or is

dislodged?

• Frothing disc is not

inserted correctly.

• Frothing disc

has dislodged

been added too

1. Stop operation.

2. Remove liquid from milk jug.

3. Ensure the frothing disc is securely and correctly

4. Rell milk jug with liquid.

5. Start frothing. Add ingredients (if desired) slowly

and in small quantities after the milk has already

started swirling.

3 beeps?

• The milk frother may

be overheated.

1. Unplug the cord from the power outlet.

2. Remove liquid from milk jug. Rinse the milk jug and

frothing disc with cold water then dry thoroughly.

3. Ensure the milk frother has not been operated

for 5 minutes. This allows the internal components

to cool.

4. Ensure the frothing disc is securely and correctly

attached. Refer to steps 2 & 3, page page 7.

Once attached, turn the frothing disc with your

ngers, it should turn freely. If it doesn’t, contact

Sage

Consumer Service.

5. Recommence frothing.

TROUBLESHOOTING

noise?

• This is normal.

It is the cooling

fan preventing the

milk frother from

overheating.

• During this time, you may still use the milk frother

unless the Boil Dry Overheat Protection as been

activated (3 beeps will be heard). Follow the

instructions above.

Burnt milk?

• Milk is not swirling

correctly.

• Milk jug has not

been cleaned

properly and milk

residue from previous

use is burning.

• Ensure the frothing disc is securely and correctly

attached. Refer to steps 2 & 3, page page 7. Once

attached, turn the frothing disc with your ngers,

it should turn freely. If it doesn’t, contact Sage

Consumer Service.

• Ensure the milk jug is thoroughly cleaned after

each use and between consecutive uses.

Ingredients

are not

melting?

• Ingredients have

been added before

milk has warmed up.

• Ingredients are

too large.

• Always allow the milk frother to start for a few

seconds before using the measuring cap to

gradually add ingredients.

• Ensure ingredients are in small pieces.

Milk is too

cold / too

hot?

• Adjust the temperature to suit your personal preference.

• Always ll the milk jug between the MIN and

MAX level markings.

Grinding

noise?

• Frothing disc is not

inserted correctly.

• Frothing disc has

dislodged during

operation.

• The milk jug has

been removed from

the power base

during operation.

• Ensure the frothing disc is securely and correctly

• Removing the milk jug during operation can dislodge

the frothing disc. Stop operation. Reinsert the

frothing disc correctly before recommencing.

Emergency

stop?

• To stop operation at any time, press the centre of

the START/ STOP push-dial. Operation has stopped

once the button surround has stopped ashing.

werden Benutzer freundlich

gebeten, die Störung durch eine

oder mehrere der folgenden

• Verlegung oder Neuausrichtung

des Produkts.

• Vergrößerung des Abstands

zwischen dem Produkt und

• Aus Sicherheitsgründen

wird empfohlen, Ihr Sage

Gerät direkt an seine eigene

Steckdose in einem von anderen

Geräten separaten Stromkreis

anzuschließen. Ist ein Stromkreis

mit anderen Geräten überladen,

funktioniert das Gerät eventuell

nicht richtig. Die Verwendung

mit einer Steckdosenleiste oder

einem Verlängerungskabel wird

nicht empfohlen.

ANWEISUNGEN FÜR DAS

KURZE KABEL

Ihr Sage

-Gerät ist als

Sicherheitsmaßnahme mit einem

kurzen Netzkabel ausgestattet,

um bei einem längeren

Kabel eventuell auftretende

Verletzungen oder Sachschäden

aufgrund von Herausziehen,

Stolpern oder Verheddern zu

vermeiden. Kinder das Gerät

nur unter enger Beaufsichtigung

durch Erwachsene verwenden

oder generell in die Nähe

des Geräts lassen. Längere,

abnehmbare Netzkabel oder

Verlängerungskabel werden

nicht empfohlen, können aber

mit der gebotenen Sorgfalt

verwendet werden.

• Bei Verwendung eines

Verlängerungskabels:

– sollten die am Kabel

oder Verlängerungskabel

angegebenen elektrischen

Kenndaten mindestens denen

des Geräts entsprechen,

– sollte das Kabel so angebracht

werden, dass es nicht über die

Arbeitsplatte oder den Tisch

hängt, wo Kinder an ihm ziehen

oder versehentlich darüber

stolpern können, und

– muss das Verlängerungskabel

über einen geerdeten Schuko-

Stecker verfügen.

Dieses Symbol zeigt,

dass das Gerät nicht im

normalen Hausmüll

entsorgt werden sollte.

Es sollte stattdessen bei einem

entsprechenden kommunalen

Wertstohof oder Fachhändler

zur Entsorgung abgegeben

werden. Weitere Einzelheiten

erfahren Sie von Ihrer

Kommunalbehörde.

HEISSE MILCH AUFSCHÄUMEN

1. Stellen sie den Milchaufschäumer auf eine

ache und ebene Oberäche und stecken

Sie den Netzstecker in eine Steckdose mit

220–240V. Der START | STOP-Ring um

die Drehtaste wird aueuchten.

2. Capp- oder Latté-Aufschäumeraufsatz

auswählen. Zwischen Capp-Aufsatz für

dicken und cremigen Schaum und Latté-

Aufsatz für weichen und seidigen

Schaum auswählen.

3. Aufschäumeraufsatz auf den Schaft am

Boden des Milchkännchens einlegen.

Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Aufsatz

richtig eingelegt ist; das breitere Teil

des Aufsatzes gehört an den Boden des

Kännchens. Der Aufsatz muss fest in den

Schaft einklicken.

HINWEIS

Falsches Einlegen des Aufsatzes kann dazu

führen, dass der Aufsatz sich während des

Betriebs loslöst, ein schleifendes Geräusch

zu hören ist oder die Milch sich nicht dreht.

ACHTUNG

Aufsatzscheiben können ein

Erstickungsrisiko darstellen. Kinder

müssen immer beaufsichtigt

werden und nie mit dem Gerät

alleine gelassen werden.

4. Gießen Sie die benötigte Menge kalte,

frische (oder frisch geönete Milch) in

das Milchkännchen und setzen Sie den

Kännchendeckel auf.

HINWEIS

Niemals das Gerät mit weniger als der

Mindestmenge Flüssigkeit im Milchkännchen

benutzen. Der Milchaufschäumer stellt sich

automatisch ab, wenn das Milchkännchen

leer ist. In diesem Fall müssen Sie warten,

bis der Milchaufschäumer abgekühlt ist

bevor sie ihn erneut verwenden können

(siehe Seite 20).

5. Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Kännchendeckel

fest verschlossen ist. Stellen Sie das

Milchkännchen auf den Motorfuß.

6. Drehen Sie die START / STOP-Drehtaste

auf die gewünschte Temperatur.

NUR EINMAL FEST DRÜCKEN

7. Die START / STOP-Drehtaste nur einmal

fest drücken. Das Aufschäumen hat

begonnen, wenn der Milchaufschäumer

einmal einen Signalton gegeben hat und

die Kontrolleuchte um die Drehtaste

langsam blinkt.

HINWEIS

Das Milchkännchen nicht während des

Betriebs vom Motorfuß entfernen. Der

Aufschäumeraufsatz kann sich loslösen und

ein schleifendes Geräusch verursachen.

Immer auf die Mitte der START / STOP-

Drehtaste drücken bevor das Kännchen

entfernt wird. Der Betrieb ist beendet, wenn

die Kontrollleuchte nicht mehr blinkt.

ACHTUNG

Die Gerätoberäche ist während

und nach dem Betrieb heiß

8. Reinigen Sie das Milchkännchen und den

Aufschäumeraufsatz sofort nach Benutzung

(siehe Reinigung und Pege).

HINWEIS

Bei mehrfachem Schäumereinsatz

das Milchkännchen ca 5. Minuten

abkühlen lassen oder das Kännchen

zum schnelleren Abkühlen mit Wasser

befüllen, um die Aktivierung der

Trockenkochfunktion zu unterbinden.

BENUTZUNG DER

KALTRÜHRFUNKTION

Die Kaltrührfunktion Cold Stir sorgt für ein

Umrühren von bereits erkalteter oder heißer

Milch ohne zusätzliche Hitze.

Diese Funktion eignet sich zur

Milchaufschäumung von kalten Getränken wie

Eis-Cappucino, zum Vermischen von Sirup oder

Geschmacksmischungen für Eisschokolade

oder -Mokka, oder zum Verrühren von lösbarem

Trinkpulver in Milch oder Wasser.

HINWEIS

Der Milchaufschäumer ist spezisch

für die Aufschäumung von Milch und

Milchalternativen gedacht und nicht zum

Schlagen, Verdicken oder Erhitzen von

anderen Lebensmitteln wie z.B. Öl, Eier,

Butter, dicke Schlagssahne, Suppen,

Soßen usw. Den Milchaufschäumer

nicht zum Vermischen großer Mengen

trockener Zutaten verwenden oder große

Lebensmittelstücke damit schmelzen

z.B. Würfelschokolade, gemahlene

Nüsse, ganze Gewürze, frische Kräuter

oder Eiswürfel.

HINZUFÜGEN VON ZUTATEN

Nach dem Einschalten des Milchaufschäumers

immer ein paar Sekunden warten und erst dann

mit dem Messbecher nach und nach Zutaten

hinzufügen.

Zutaten immer langsam und in kleinen Mengen

zugeben.

HINWEIS

Das Aufschäumergebnis kann je nach

Zutaten sehr unterschiedlich ausfallen:

dichte Zutaten wie z.B. dicküssiger Sirup,

schwere Puder und große Flockenkönnen

die Schaummenge beträchtlich reduzieren.

SICHERHEITSHINWEISE

Trockenkochschutz

Der Milchaufschäumer beendet den Betrieb

automatisch, wenn das Milchkännchen

überhitzt ist: z.B., wenn das Milchkännchen

leer ist, die Flüssigkeitsmenge sich unter der

Mindestmarkierungsstelle MIN bendet oder nach

mehrfacher aufeinander folgender Benutzung.

In diesem Fall gibt das Gerät drei Tonsignale.

Den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose entfernen,

5 Minuten warten bis der Milchaufschäumer

abgekühlt ist oder befüllen Sie das Milchkännchen

mit Wasser zum schnelleren Abkühlen.

Thermischer Sicherungs- und

Fehlerstromschutz

Diese Funktion schützt den Milchaufschäumer

im Fall eines größeren Fehlers. Der

Milchaufschäumer stellt sich dann automatisch

ab und lässt sich nicht wieder anschalten.
