Dear User,

with the ORIGINAL LORCH soldering torch you have purchased a product that

has been manufactured and tested in accordance with the legal regulations.

Please observe these opetating instructions for safe and economical handling.

1. USE

The soldering torch is designed especially for soldering work.

Please note that its incorrect use endangers your safety and can cause damage

to the unit.

2. ACCIDENT PREVENTION RULES

Take care that all connections are made gastight.

Replace damaged hoses immediately.

Have damage to the working unit repaired immediately.

High temperatures arise on the working unit during operation.

Therefore, note that touching the copper tip or the holder can lead to burn in-

juries. Never leave the torch burning unattended. When liquiﬁ ed gas is used,

the relevant regulations, such as DIN standards, accident prevention regulations

for the professional associations (e.g. Liquiﬁ ed Gas on Building Sites, published

by the BAU-BG9) as well as the DVGW standards must be complied with.

3. CARE AND MAINTENANCE

The soldering iron requires no maintenance. However, it should be noted

that dirt can impair the operation of the unit.

4. REPAIRS

Repairs may be performed only by the manufacturer or authorized repair

workshops. If you repair the unit yourself you endanger your safety.

Furthermore, the warranty and claim for liability against the manufacturer

becomes invalid.

Operating sequence

Preparing the torch - select the correct torch insert according to the type

of work to be performed, and screw ﬁ rmly by hand onto the connection (5)

- M 15 x 1.

5. PROPANE HIGH-PRESSURE HOSE CONNECTION

Connect the propane high-pressure hose to the external thread (3).

Connection threads for combustible gases are left-handed.

Use only a suitable open-ended wrench, pipe wrenches damage the hexagonal

nut - risk of accident.

6. COMBUSTIBLE GAS/PRESSURE

Open the gas cylinder valve. Adjust the pressure reducer - if not permanently

set - to the required working pressure, up to max. 1.5 bar.

7. IGNITION

Open the air valve (2) slightly.

Open the handwheel for gas regulation (1) wide enough until gas ﬂ ows out.

Ignite torch at the mouth of the torch insert. When the - IGNIT - ignition

No. 1057-0001 is used, the ignition button must be pressed for ignition

(cf. operating instructions on the reverse).

8. WORKING FLAME

According to conditions of use, an adjustment must be made between

a “soft” (air deﬁ ciency) or a “hard” (air surplus) working ﬂ ame by changing

the ratio between liquiﬁ ed gas (propane) and drawn-in air with the air

valve (2) and gas regulator (1).

9. INTERRUPTING WORK

When work is interrupted, close the gas supply using the handwheel (1)

for safety.

10. WORKING BREAKS/END OF WORK

At the end of work or during breaks, it is best to close the gas cylinder valve.

The ﬂ ame goes out slowly, so that the setting of the working ﬂ ame is not

changed and the torch and combustible gas hose are pressure relieved.

12. WASTE MANAGEMENT

In accordance with Article 33 of REACH GCE, s.r.o. as responsible manufacturer

shall inform all customers if materials containing 0.1% or more of substances

included in the list of Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC). The most com-

monly used brass alloys used for bodies and other brass components contain

2-3% of lead (Pb), EC no. 231-468-6, CAS no. 7439-92-1. The lead will not be

released to the gas or surrounding environment during normal use. After end

of life the product shall be scrapped by an authorized metal recycler to ensure

eﬃ cient material handling with minimal impact to environment and health. To

date we have no information that indicates that other materials containing SVHC

of concentrations exceeding 0.1% are included in any GCE product.

13. WARRANTY

The Standard Warranty period is two years from date of receipt by the GCE

Customer (or if this is not known 2 years from time of the product manufacture

shown on the product).

The standard warranty is only valid for products handled according to Instruction

for use (IFU) and general industry good practice and standards.

Dear User,

with the original LORCH - IGNIT - soldering insert, you have purchased

a product enbling you to convert the torch handle 1040... to the piezo

ignition system.

1. USE

The - IGNIT - soldering insert is matched specially to the LORCH torch

handle 1040.. The oﬀ ered copper pieces in hammer and tip form can be

used as normal. Use of the point and wide torch as well as precision

soldering inserts in conjunction with - IGNIT - is not possible.

2. CARE AND MAINTENANCE

The soldering insert requires no maintenance. However, it should be noted

that dirt can impair the operation of the unit.

3. REPAIRS

Repairs may be performed only by the manufacturer or authorized repair

workshops. If you repair the unit yourself, you endanger your safety.

Furthermore, the warranty and claim for liability against the manufacturer

expires.

4. CONNECTION

Screw the soldering insert hand-tight onto the torch handle (M 15 x 1 thread).

Fit copper piece and possibly wind guard.

5. TORCH IGNITION

Open gas supply at the regulating valve, ignite the torch by pressing

the piezo ignition. Regulate the ﬂ ame to working ﬂ ame by turning the air

valve and regulating valve.
