zunächst möchten wir Ihnen zum Erwerb Ihres Gerätes gratulieren.

Bitte lesen Sie die folgenden Anschluss- und Anwendungshinweise sorgfältig durch und befolgen Sie diese

um möglichen technischen Schäden vorzubeugen.

Sicherheitshinweise

• Diese Bedienungsanleitung dient dazu, Sie mit der Funktionsweise dieses Produktes vertraut zu ma-

chen. Bewahren Sie diese Anleitung daher stets gut auf, damit Sie jederzeit darauf zugreifen können.

• Sie erhalten bei Kauf dieses Produktes zwei Jahre Gewährleistung auf Defekt bei sachgemäßem Ge-

brauch.

• Bitte verwenden Sie das Produkt nur in seiner bestimmungsgemäßen Art und Weise. Eine anderweiti-

ge Verwendung führt eventuell zu Beschädigungen am Produkt oder in der Umgebung des Produktes.

• Ein Umbauen oder Verändern des Produktes beeinträchtigt die Produktsicherheit. Achtung Verlet-

• Drehen Sie die Lautstärke herunter, bevor Sie den Kopfhörer an einem Musikgerät anschließen.

• Nutzen Sie den mitgelieferten Netzadapter, um das Gerät mit dem Elektrizitätsnetz zu verbinden und

schließen Sie diesen nur an gewöhnlichen (~220-240V) Haushaltssteckdosen an.

Die Gewährleistung verfällt bei Fremdeingrien in das Gerät.

Kleine Objekte/Verpackungsteile (Plastikbeutel, Karton, etc.)

Bewahren Sie kleine Objekte (z.B. Schrauben und anderes Montagematerial, Speicherkarten) und

Verpackungsteile außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern auf, damit sie nicht von diesen verschluckt

werden können. Lassen Sie kleine Kinder nicht mit Folie spielen. Es besteht Erstickungsgefahr!

Transport des Gerätes

Bitte bewahren Sie die Originalverpackung auf. Um ausreichenden Schutz beim Transport des Gerätes zu

erreichen, verpacken Sie das Gerät in der Originalverpackung.

Reinigung der äußeren Oberäche

Verwenden Sie keine üchtigen Flüssigkeiten, wie Insektensprays. Durch zu starken Druck beim

Abwischen können die Oberächen beschädigt werden. Gummi- oder Plastikteile sollten nicht über einen

längeren Zeitraum mit dem Gerät in Kontakt sein. Nutzen Sie ein trockenes Tuch.

Erste Inbetriebnahme

Einsetzen der Batterien

Trennen Sie unbedingt die Netzverbindung vor dem Einsetzen der Batterien. Setzen Sie in das Batteriefach

an der Unterseite des Geräts 4 Batterien vom Typ „AA“ ein. Beachten Sie die korrekte Polarität.

Achtung: Der DAB+-Modus verbraucht deutlich mehr Energie, als der herkömmliche FM-Modus. Bitte beach-

ten Sie dies, wenn Sie das Gerät mit Batterien betreiben möchen (wenige Stunden Laufzeit).

Achtung: Bitte schalten Sie das Gerät, wenn Sie es mit Batterien nutzen, aus, sobald es nicht in Benutzung

ist, denn auch im Standby-Betrieb wird Batterie-Strom abgegrien.

Diese reichen dann nur für wenige Tage.

Gerät Einschalten und Basisfunktionen

• Verbinden Sie das Gerät mit einer Stromquelle (Netzadapter oder Batterien) und schieben Sie den

Schalter an der Rückseite auf die Position „ON“. Eine Willkommensnachricht erscheint auf dem Dis-

play und die Uhrzeit (zunächst „00:00:00“) wird angezeigt. Klappen Sie die Antenne aus und ziehen Sie

sie aus. Drücken Sie STANDBY, um das Gerät einzuschalten. Nach einigen Minuten, stellt sich die Uhr

nach dem DAB+-Signal automatisch.

• Das Gerät schaltet zunächst in den DAB+-Modus und ein automatischer Sendersuchlauf wird ausge-

führt (Progress wird durch Balken illustriert).

• Die gefundenen DAB+-Sender werden automatisch in alphabetischer Order gespeichert. Nach Ab-

schluss des Sendersuchlaufs wird der (alphabetisch) erste Sender abgespielt.

• Regeln Sie die Lautstärke mit den Tasten VOL- / VOL+.

• Nutzen Sie die Tasten / , um zwischen den DAB+-Sendern hin- und herzuschalten.

• Wird kein DAB+-Signal empfangen, erscheint „No Signal DAB+“ auf dem Display. Vergewissern Sie

sich, dass die Antenne ausgefahren ist und/oder dass Sie sich im Empfangsgebiet von DAB+-Sendern

und nicht in Kellerräumen etc. benden.

• Nutzen Sie die STANDBY-Taste, um das Gerät ein- und in den Standby-Modus zu schalten

Radio-Funktionen

DAB+-Modus

Nach dem ersten Einschalten des Geräts wird ein automatischer Sendersuchlauf ausgeführt. Sie können

aber auch manuell nach Sendern suchen:

• Halten Sie ENTER gedrückt, bis „MANUAL TUNE“ auf dem Display erscheint.

• Nutzen Sie die Tasten / , um im Sendeband die Frequenzen zu durchsuchen. Sobald Sie eine

gewünschte Frequenz bzw. ein gewünschtes Ensemble erreichen, drücken Sie ENTER, um die entspre-

chende Station hinzuzufügen. Nutzen Sie dann wiederum die Pfeiltasten, um den Sender einzustellen

und verlassen Sie den manuellen Such-Modus.

• Um den aktuellen Sender auf einem der verfügbaren Speicherplätze abzulegen, halten Sie PRESET

gedrückt, bis die Preset-Nummer (auf dem Display rechts unten) blinkt. Wählen Sie mit den Pfeiltasten

die gewünschte Preset-Nummer aus und speichern Sie den Sender mit ENTER auf diesem Platz.

• Um einen zuvor gespeicherten Sender aufzurufen, drücken Sie PRESET kurz und suchen den gewünsch-

ten Senderspeicher dann mit den Pfeiltasten. Rufen Sie diesen dann mit ENTER auf.

FM-Modus

Nach dem Einschalten des Geräts bendet es sich zunächst im DAB+-Modus. Drücken Sie MODE, um zum

FM-Modus umzuschalten.

• Drücken Sie SCAN, um einen Sendersuchlauf auszulösen, der im Frequenzband aufwärts (von 87.5MHz)

läuft. Der Suchlauf stoppt jeweils beim nächsten gefundenen Sender. Halten Sie SCAN eine Sekunde

lang gedrückt, um den Sendersuchlauf in die andere Richtung auszulösen.

• Nutzen Sie die Pfeiltasten, um manuell nach einem gewünschten Sender zu suchen (in 0.05MHz-Schrit-

ten).

• Drücken Sie ENTER, um im FM-Betrieb zwischen Mono- und Stereo-Empfang zu wechseln.

• Sobald RDS-Signale empfangen werden, werden die Inhalte auf dem Display angezeigt.

• Nutzen Sie den Senderspeicher ebenso, wie oben in der Sektion „DAB+-Modus“ erläutert,

Alarm (=Wecker)

Der SNOZZER hat zwei unabhängig voneinander einstellbare Alarm-Zeiten. Der Wecker per DAB+- oder

FM-Radio wecken oder aber als „Buzzer“ mit einem Piepton.

Um den Alarm einzustellen

• Drücken Sie die Taste ALARM 1 und nutzen Sie die Pfeiltasten um den Alarmstatus (ON/OFF) zu än-

dern. Bestätigen Sie Ihre Einstellung mit ENTER:

• Das Display zeigt nun die aktuelle Zeit sowie die Alarm-Zeit an. Bei dieser blinkt die Stunden-Anzeige.

Ändern Sie die Alarm-Stunde mit dem Pfeiltasten, bestätigen Sie (ENTER) und wiederholen Sie den

Vorgang für die Einstellung der Minuten. Bestätigen Sie auch hier mit ENTER.

• Als nächstes kann die Weckfrequenz eingestellt werden. Wählen Sie mit den Pfeiltasten zwischen

„DAILY“ (täglich), „WEEKDAYS“ (nur an Wochentagen), „WEEKENDS“ (nur am Wochenende) oder

„ONCE“ (nur ein Mal) - bestätigen Sie mit ENTER.

• Wählen Sie nun auf dieselbe Weise die Wecker-Tonquelle aus (DAB+ / FM / BEEPER) und bestätigen

Sie wiederum per ENTER, bevor Sie die Weckton-Lautstärke einstellen und abermals mit ENTER be-

stätigen.

Alarm 1 ist nun eingestellt und gespeichert (auch im Standby-Modus). Der Alarm wird gelöscht, wenn Sie das

Gerät von der Stromzufuhr trennen (also wenn das Netzteil entfernt wird, die Sicherung herausgesprungen

ist, die Batterien leer sind oder das Gerät mit dem Ein-/Ausschalter auf der Rückseite abgeschaltet wird).

• Der Wecker kann bei „Klingeln“ per Druck auf STANDBY abgestellt werden, oder per Druck auf SLEEP/

SNOOZE um 9 Minuten verschoben werden. Wird nicht reagiert, spielt/piept der Wecker für eine Stun-

de.

Verfahren Sie genauso, um ALARM 2 einzustellen. Die Alarme spielen jeweils den zuletzt gehörten Sender

(DAB+ / FM) ab, wenn der DAB+- oder FM-Modus als Wecker-Tonquelle eingestellt sind.

Sleep-Timer

Drücken Sie während des Abspielens eines beliebigen Senders auf SLEEP und wählen Sie dann die ge-

wünschte Sleep-Zeit (EInschlaf-Zeit) mit den Pfeiltasten (10 - 90min in 10-Minuten-Schritten). Drücken Sie

ENTER zum Bestätigen und Speichern.

Das Gerät schaltet nach der gewählten Zeit in den Standby-Modus.

Drücken Sie SLEEP und wählen Sie per Pfeiltasten zwischen ON und OFF, um den Sleep-Timer abzuschalten.

Bestätigen Sie mit ENTER.

Weitere Funktionen

Kopfhörer-Anschluss

Nutzen Sie den rückseitigen Kopfhöreranschluss (3,5mm-Klinke), wenn Sie Ihren Musikgenuss nicht mit

Ihren Mitmenschen teilen möchten. Der interne Lautsprecher wird bei Einstecken eines entsprechenden

Klinkensteckers automatisch abgeschaltet.

RESET

Halten Sie MENU/INFO gedrückt, bis „SYSTEM RESET“ auf dem Display angezeigt wird. Bestätigen Sie

(zweimal) mit Enter. Alle Einstellungen und Daten werden gelöscht. Beim erneuten Einschalten des Geräts

wird ein neuer DAB+-Sendersuchlauf automatisch ausgeführt.

Initial Use

Battery Installation

To use the appliance with batteries ensure that the power cord is NOT connected to the mains and install

the batteries into the battery compartment. Insert 4 x AA 1.5V alkaline batteries (not included) in accordance

with the diagram in the battery compartment. Take care to observe the correct polarity (+/ -).

Please Note:

All DAB+ radios use more power during use than „traditional“ radios and so will batteries run down within

a few hours. Therefore the use of mains power (or rechargeable batteries) is recommended for extended

listening. Always switch o using the ON/OFF switch at rear when the device is not in use. Standby mode

continues to use power and will atten the batteries within a couple of days.

Getting Started

• Insert the adaptor cord into the power socket at the rear of the radio. Plug the adaptor into the mains

supply socket.

If using the radio with batteries ensure that the power cord is NOT inserted into the back of the appli-

ance and install the batteries into the battery compartment.

• Fully extend the telescopic antenna.

• Move the ON / OFF switch at the rear of the radio to the „ON“ position. The display will illuminate, a

welcome message will be displayed briey and then the clock (00:00:00) will be shown

• Press STANDBY to turn the radio on and start to tune in. DAB+ mode will automatically be selected

and the radio will perform an autotune full scan. The display will then show „searching“, together with

a slide bar indicating the scan progress and the number of stations found.

• When the scan is nished the radio will play the rst alphanumerically found station. The display will

show the station that is currently playing.

• If the radio does not nd any stations, „No signal DAB+“ will be displayed. Ensure the antenna is fully

extended or try moving the radio to another location (near a window may be better) and repeat the

above steps.

• Adjust the volume to the desired level using VOL + or VOL – buttons.

• To search the stations that have been found, press the FORWARD or BACKWARD (11) buttons to scroll

through the available stations.

• Press STANDBY to place the unit in standby mode.

Radio Operation

DAB+ Mode

DAB+ diers from analogue radio; the separate signals from a number of stations are grouped together and

transmitted as a single frequency. These groups are referred to as multiplexes and ensembles. Each time a

group has been found the name of the group will be shown on the lower half of the display.

When the device is powered up for the rst time, an automatic scan will be performed. You can also tune

manually:

• Press and hold ENTER untill „MANUAL TUNE“ will be displayed.

• Use / , buttons to move through the DAB+ channels and the associated frequencies. When

the desired ensemble / frequency appears in the display, press the ENTER button to add the ensemble

and display the name.

• Press the FORWARD or BACKWARD buttons to move through the stations included in the ensemble

and press the ENTER button to listen to the station of choice and exit the manual tune mode.

Saving Presets:

• Press and hold PRESET until the display shows the ashing PRESET number (lower right display corner).

• Use FORWARD / BACKWARD to select the preset storage location of choice and then press ENTER to

conrm. The station now broadcasting has now been stored in the selected location.

• To listen to a preset station, press PRESET and then use FORWARD / BACKWARD to select the desired

preset location. When the storage location of choice is displayed, press ENTER to listen to the stored

station. If the preset has not been allocated „Preset empty“ will be shown in the display (Fig. 10).

FM Mode

• Turn the radio on and press MODE button to select the FM mode. The display will show „switching to

FM“ and the radio will tune to 87.50 MHz.

• To activate auto search, briey press the SCAN button and the radio will start scanning up the frequen-

cy and stop automatically once the next station up has been found. To scan downwards, press and

hold the SCAN button for at least 1 second.

• Use FORWARD / BACKWARD to increment the frequency by 0.05MHz and tune manually.

• Press ENTER to switch between audio modes mono and stereo.

• If an FM RDS (Radio Data Signal) is present, the display will automatically show the station name and

radio text (where available).

• To save stations as preset stations, follow the routine explained in the DAB+ section above („Saving Presets)

Display Modes

If the MENU button is pressed repeatedly when a radio station is playing, the second line of the station

display will scroll through the following modes with each press of the button.

Ensemble/Multiplex

(Group Name)

The ensemble / multiplex is a group of station that are bundled and transmitted

together in a single frequency. There are national and local multiplexes, local

ones contain stations that are specic to the local area.

Frequency Display will show the frequency of the station being broadcast.

Audio Bit Rate Display will show the digital audio bit rate being received.

Program Type This describes the style of the programme. If the information is not available the

display will show „<Programme type>‟.

DLS / RadioText The broadcaster may include a scrolling message about the current programme

Time/Date

Signal Strength the display will show a slide bar to indicate the strength of the signal. The stron-

ger the signal, the longer the bar.

Audio Mode Mono/Stereo

Alarm and Sleep Timer

Alarm

This radio has a dual alarm function and it is possible to set two individual alarm times. This alarm and may

be set to wake as a buzzer tone or to a favourite radio (DAB+/FM) station. The alarm can be set in standby

or during operation.

To set the alarm

• press ALARM 1 and use FORWARD / BACKWARD to set the alarm status (ON/OFF). Conrm with

ENTER.

• The display now shows the current time and the alarm time with the hour digits ashing. Use FOR-

WARD / BACKWARD to change the hour and conrm (ENTER) - then repeat the routine for the minutes.

• Set the alarm frequency, using FORWARD / BACKWARD again to choose between „DAILY“, „WEEK-

DAYS“, „WEEKENDS“ OR „ONCE“. Conrm pressing ENTER.

• Proceed in the same way to choose the wake up mode (DAB+ / FM / BEEPER), conrm (ENTER) and

repeat the procedure for the wake up volume.

The alarm is now set and will remain in memory when the unit is switched to standby mode. When the time

on the clock is the same as the alarm time that has been set, the alarm will sound and the display will ash.

The alarm will continue to sound and stop automatically after one hour. To silence the alarm, press STAND-

BY. If a daily alarm has been set, the alarm indicator will remain illuminated and the alarm will sound again

at the same time the following day until the alarm is switched o.

To activate the snooze function, press the SNOOZE / SLEEP button when the alarm sounds. The snooze

indicator (Zz) will be shown in the display; the alarm will silence and then sound again after approximately

nine minutes.

To turn o the alarm permanently, press ALARM 1 to display the alarm status. Use FORWARD / BACKWARD

until „Alarm status OFF“ is displayed, then press the ENTER button to accept and exit the mode. The alarm

has now been deactivated and the alarm indicator will no longer be shown in the display.

Please note:

• If the power is interrupted (or the unit is switched OFF using the rear switch) and batteries are not tted

in the battery compartment, the alarm settings will be lost.

• To set the second alarm, use the ALARM 2 button and then follow the steps above to set this alarm.

• If the DAB+ or FM radio wake up option is selected the alarm will play the last station listened to in

DAB+ or FM.

Sleep-Timer

With the radio of choice playing, press the SNOOZE / SLEEP button and the sleep status is shown in the

display. Press FORWARD / BACKWARD repeatedly until the desired sleep interval (OFF ... 10min ... 20min ...

... 90min) is shown in the display. Press ENTER to conrm. The sleep function will count down and the unit

will switch o automatically after the time interval selected has lapsed.

To cancel the sleep timer, press SNOOZE / SLEEP and then press FORWARD / BACKWARD repeatedly until

„OFF“ is shown in the display. Press ENTER to accept.

Other Functions

Headphone Jack

A stereo headphone jack has been provided so that the unit can be used without disturbing others. Plug in

the headphones at the rear of the radio and adjust the listening volume to your chosen level.

Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss. The speaker will not

operate when earphones are  tted.

RESET

Press and hold MENU/INFO until „SYSTEM RESET“ is shown on the display. Con rm twice, using ENTER.

Please note: All changes and presets will be deleted. On turning the device on again, an automatic scan for

DAB+ stations will be perfomed again. This might take up to a few minutes.

Environment Concerns
