• Built-in Antimicrobial Properties – The

plastic parts and the PermaWick™ filter

have built-in antimicrobial properties to in-

hibit the growth of bacteria, mold and fungi

that may affect these parts.

NOTE: This product contains antimicrobial

properties which are built-in to inhibit the

growth of bacteria which may affect the

plastic and PermaWick™ filter in the hu-

midifier. These properties do not extend to

the water, humidified air or users. Conduct

routine cleaning and maintenance based

upon use and individual conditions.

Important Safety Instructions:

Read all instructions before

using this humidifier.

1. This humidifier may not work properly on

an uneven surface. ALWAYS place this

humidifier on a firm, level, and water re-

sistant surface. ALWAYS place the hu-

midifier at least sixteen (16) cm away

from walls and heat sources such as

stoves, radiators, or heaters.

2. ALWAYS place the humidifier in an area

that is out of the reach of children.

3. Before using the humidifier, extend the cord

and inspect for any signs of damage. DO

NOT use the product if the cord has been

damaged. If the supply cord is damaged,

it must be replaced by the manufacturer

or its service agent or similarly qualified

person in order to avoid a hazard.

4. ALWAYS UNPLUG AND EMPTY the hu-

midifier when it is not in operation or

while it is being cleaned.

5. DO NOT tilt or move the humidifier while

it is in operation. Never move the humidi-

fier while there is water in the tank.

Empty the water tank, turn off, and un-

plug the unit before moving.

6. In addition to routine maintenance which

may be required, this humidifier requires

seasonal cleaning. Refer to and follow

CLEANING THE HUMIDIFIER AND THE

WATER TANK instructions.

NOTE: You may notice mineral depos-

its accumulating in the tank base or on

the PermaWick™ filter. This is normal

and does not affect performance. If you

would like to clean these deposits away,

please see CLEANING THE HUMIDIFIER

AND WATER TANK.

Cleaning The Humidifier And The Water Tank

Refilling The Water Tank

1. When the water tank level is low, turn the

humidifier ‘OFF’, and unplug.

2. Remove the tank and take it to the sink or

tub to refill.

3. Turn the tank upside down and unscrew the

tank cap by turning it counterclockwise.

Empty the tank, refill with fresh cool water

(never use hot water), and replace the tank

cap. Be sure not to overfill the tank as water

damage may occur to furniture or flooring

due to spillage.

HUNTER WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBIL-

ITY FOR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY CAUSED

BY WATER SPILLAGE.

4. Carry the tank back to the humidifier. Turn

the tank upright and place it on the hu-

midifier. Be sure that the tank is seated

properly in the base. If the tank is properly

located on the base, you will see air

bubbles flowing up into the tank.

Many regions have hard water with high

concentrations of minerals. When water

evaporates from The Care Free

Humidifier Plus

Evaporative Humidifier, minerals may be left

behind. These minerals can form a hard white

scale which can be removed by following the

cleaning instructions. The frequency of

cleaning due to mineral build up can vary

depending upon the quality of water you

may have.

Refer to Figure 1 for part names.

1. Turn the humidifier ‘OFF’ and unplug the

unit.

2. Lift the main housing and remove the wa-

ter dispersion tray and the PermaWick™

Filters. The motor is attached to the

main housing. Do not place the motor

near water. Do not use a wet towel on

the motor or motor housing as electri-

cal shock may occur.

3. The PermaWick™ Filter should be cleaned

in a vinegar and water solution to remove

any mineral buildup. Place in a solution of

3.5 L of water and 219 mL of undiluted

white vinegar. Allow the filter to soak for

20 minutes.

4. After soaking, rinse it several times with

clean water. Place the PermaWick™ Filter

in a location where it can drip dry while

you clean the other parts of your humidifier.

5. Remove the water tank from the base and

empty any water that is left in the tank.

Soak the base in a mixture of 3.5 L of wa-

ter and 219 mL of vinegar for 20 minutes.

6. After soaking, wipe the base with a soft

cloth or sponge to remove any mineral build

up. Rinse with clean water several times. If

you are planning on storing the humidi-

fier, be sure the base is completely dry.

7. Fill the water tank with 3.5 L of water and

219 mL of undiluted white vinegar. Replace

the tank cap and shake the tank vigorously

until all interior surfaces of the tank have

been exposed to the water/vinegar mixture.

8. Empty the tank of the water/vinegar mix-

ture. Rinse it several times with clean water

and then replace the tank cap. If you are

planning on storing the humidifier, dry it

inside and out, leaving the cap off to allow

the tank to completely dry. Continue to

clean the other parts of your humidifier.

9. Remove the water diffuser cap and sponge.

Rinse the sponge in clean water to remove

any debris. If the sponge contains hard

water residue, soak it in a mixture of

3.5 L of water and 219 mL of vinegar for

20 minutes. Rinse well and reinstall sponge

and diffuser cap in unit. Do not expose

motor or other electrical components

to water.

10. Wipe the surfaces of the main housing with

a soft cloth.

11. Once all the parts are clean, reas-

semble the humidifier, and follow the

store in a dry location.

la baja velocidad es I, media II y alta III. El

control debe estar siempre en posición apagada

antes de desenchufar el humidificador del

tomacorriente, mover el humidificador o rellenar

el tanque de agua.

Control de luz nocturna NiteGlo™ (algunos

modelos): Enciende (ON) y apaga (OFF) la luz

ro o tina para llenarlo.

5. Gire el tanque hacia abajo y desenrosque la

ne el tanque con agua fresca y vuelva a ta-

parlo (nunca use agua caliente). Asegúrese

de no llenar demasiado el tanque, ya que po-

Coloque el tanque en posición derecha e ins-

tálelo nuevamente en el humidificador. Si el

9. Quite la tapa del difusor de agua y la es-

Reinigung des Luftbefeuchters und des Wassertanks

Auffüllen des Wassertanks

1. Bei niedrigem Wasserstand im Tank stel-

len Sie den Luftbefeuchter auf ‘AUS’ und

ziehen Sie das Kabel aus dem Netzstecker.

2. Entnehmen Sie den Wassertank und fül-

len Sie ihn im Waschbecken oder der Ba-

dewanne auf.

3. Drehen Sie den Wassertank herum und

drehen Sie die Verschlusskappe gegen den

Uhrzeigersinn los. Entleeren Sie den Tank

und füllen ihn mit frischem, kaltem Was-

ser auf (niemals heisses Wasser benutzen),

und drehen Sie die Verschlusskappe wieder

zu. Gehen Sie sicher, dass Sie den Tank

nicht überfüllen da Möbel oder Fussböden

durch das Verlaufen von Wasser beschä-

digt werden können.

4. Tragen Sie den Tank zurück zum

Luftbefeuchter. Drehen Sie den Tank auf-

recht und setzen Sie ihn in den

Luftbefeuchter ein. Der Tank muss sicher

auf der Basis des Luftbefeuchters sitzen. Ist

der Tank sachgerecht eingesetzt, werden Sie

Luftblasen im Tank hochsteigen sehen.

Viele Haushalte haben hartes Wasser mit hoher

Mineralienkonzentration. Wenn Wasser aus

dem Care Free

Raumbefeuchter Plus

Verdunstungsbefeuchter verdunstet, setzen

sich Mineralienstoffe ab. Diese Mineralienstoffe

können harten Wasserstein bilden, der wie

nachfolgend beschrieben entfernt werden

kann. Je nach Wasserqualität kann die

Häufigkeit der benötigten Entfernung von

Wasserstein variieren.

1. Stellen Sie den Luftbefeuchter auf ‘AUS’ und

ziehen Sie das Kabel aus dem Netzstecker.

2. Entfernen Sie das Hauptgehäuse, das Wasser-

auffangbecken und das PermaWick™ Filter-

system. Der Motor ist am Hauptgehäuse

befestigt. Nicht in der Nähe von Was-

ser ablegen. Um einen elektrischen

Schlag zu vermeiden, den Motor oder

das Motorgehäuse nie mit einem nas-

sen Handtuch reinigen.

3. Das PermaWick™ Filtersystem sollte zur

Beseitigung von Mineralienrückständen

mit einer Essig-Wasserlösung gereinigt

werden. Legen Sie es in eine Mischung aus

3,5 L Wasser und 219 ml unvermischten,

klaren Essig. Weichen Sie den Filter 20

Minuten darin ein.

4. Nach dem Einweichen spülen Sie das Filter-

system mehrmals mit klarem Wasser ab.

Lassen Sie das PermaWick™ Filtersystem

zum Abtropfen stehen während Sie wei-

tere Teile Ihres Luftbefeuchters reinigen.

5. Entnehmen Sie den Wassertank aus der

Basis und entleeren Sie ihn vollständig.

Weichen Sie die Basis in einer Mischung

aus 3,5 L Wasser und 219 ml Essig 20 Mi-

nuten lang ein.

6. Nach dem Einweichen, wischen Sie die Ba-

sis mit einem weichen Tuch oder einem

Schwamm ab um jegliche Mineralienab-

lagerungen zu entfernen. Anschliessend

mehrmals mit klarem Wasser abspülen. Wird

der Luftbefeuchter längere Zeit gelagert, las-

sen Sie die Basis vollständig trocknen.

7. Füllen Sie den Wassertank mit 3,5 l Was-

ser und 219 ml unvermischten, klaren Es-

sig. Drehen Sie den Tankverschluss zu und

schütteln Sie ihn kräftig bis die komplette

Innenfläche des Tanks mit der Wasser-Essig-

mischung in Kontakt war.

8. Entleeren Sie die Wasser-Essigmischung.

Mehrmals mit klarem Wasser ausspülen

und den Tankverschluss wieder zudrehen.

Wenn Sie den Luftbefeuchter für längere

Zeit lagern möchten, lassen Sie ihn von

innen und aussen bei offenem Verschluss

vollständig trocknen. Reinigen Sie dann die

anderen Teile des Luftbefeuchters.

9. Entfernen Sie den Wasserverschluss und

den Schwamm. Spülen Sie den Schwamm

1. Cet humidificateur peut ne pas fonction-

ner correctement sur une surface irrégu-

lière. Il faut TOUJOURS placer cet humi-

dificateur sur une surface ferme, horizon-

tale et résistant à l’eau. Il faut TOUJOURS

placer cet humidificateur à une distance

d’au moins 16 cm des murs et des sour-

ces de chaleur comme les radiateurs et

les appareils de chauffage.

2. Il faut TOUJOURS placer l’humidifi-

cateur dans un endroit inaccessible

aux enfants.

3. Avant d’employer l’humidificateur, dérou-

lez le cordon d’alimentation et vérifiez

qu’il n’est pas endommagé. Il ne faut

JAMAIS employer ce produit si le cordon

électrique est endommagé. Si le cordon

d’alimentation est endommagé, il doit

être remplacé par le fabricant ou son

agent de service ou par toute autre per-

sonne pareillement qualifiée afin d’éviter

les risques.

4. Il faut TOUJOURS DÉBRANCHER ET VI-

DER l’humidificateur quand il n’est pas

employé ou quand vous le nettoyez.

5. IL NE FAUT PAS incliner ou déplacer l’hu-

midificateur quand il fonctionne. Il ne faut

jamais déplacer l’humidificateur quand il

y a de l’eau dans le réservoir. Videz le ré-

servoir, arrêtez l’humidificateur et débran-

chez-le avant de le déplacer.

6. En plus d’un entretien régulier, il faut net-

toyer cet humidificateur à la fin de la sai-

son. Référez-vous aux instructions de
