Take special care to heed the Warnings. Your SPARKY power tool has many features that will
make your job faster and easier. Safety, performance, and dependability have been given top
priority in the development of this tool, making it easy to maintain and operate.
Do not dispose of electric tools together with household waste!
Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle
where facilities exist. Check with your local authority or retailer for recycling advice.

The machine, accessories and packaging should be sorted for environmental-friendly
recycling.
The plastic components are labelled for categorised recycling.
UNPACKING
Due to modern mass production techniques, it is unlikely that your power tool is faulty or that a part is

The vibration emission level given in this information sheet has been measured in accordance with
a standardised test given in EN 60745 and may be used to compare one tool with another. It may be
used for a preliminary assessment of exposure.
The declared vibration emission level represents the main applications of the tool. However if the tool
is used for different applications, with different accessories or poorly maintained, the vibration emis-
sion may differ. This may signicantly increase the exposure level over the total working period.
An estimation of the level of exposure to vibration should also take into account the times when the
tool is switched off or when it is running but not actually doing the job. This may signicantly reduce
the exposure level over the total working period.
Maintain the power tool and the accessories and keep your hands warm during operation to reduce
the harmful effect of vibrations.
Other applications such as cutting-off or wire brushing may have different vibration emission values.
Dust from material such as paint containing lead, some wood species, minerals and metal may be
harmful. Contact with or inhalation of the dust may cause allergic reactions and/or respiratory dis-
eases to the operator or bystanders.
Certain kinds of dust are classied as carcinogenic such as oak and beech dust especially in conjunc-
tion with additives for wood conditioning (chromate, wood preservative). Material containing asbestos
must only be treated by specialists.
Where the use of a dust extraction device is possible it shall be used.
The work place must be well ventilated.
The use of a dust mask of lter class P2 is recommended.
Follow national requirements for the materials you want to work with.

General power tool
safety warnings
WARNING! Read all safety warn-
ings and all instructions. Failure to follow
the warnings and instructions may result in
electric shock, re and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for
future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers
to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Clut-
tered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence
of ammable liquids, gases or dust.
Power tools create sparks which may ignite
the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away
while operating a power tool. Distrac-
tions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way. Do
not use any adapter plugs with earthed
(grounded) power tools. Unmodied
plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk
of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or
grounded surfaces, such as pipes, ra-
diators, ranges and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electric shock if your
body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet
conditions. Water entering a power tool
will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the
cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging
the power tool. Keep cord away from
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the
risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors,
use an extension cord suitable for out-
door use. Use of a cord suitable for out-
door use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp lo-
cation is unavoidable, use a residual
current device (RCD) protected supply.
Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric
shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing
and use common sense when operating
a power tool. Do not use a power tool
while you are tired or under the inu-
ence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
A moment of inattention while operating
power tools may result in serious personal
injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment.
Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protec-
tion used for appropriate conditions will re-
duce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure
the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to power source and/or bat-
tery pack, picking up or carrying the
tool. Carrying power tools with your nger
on the switch or energising power tools that
have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench be-
fore turning the power tool on. A wrench
or a key left attached to a rotating part of
the power tool may result in personal in-
jury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times. This enables
better control of the power tool in unexpect-
ed situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose cloth-
ing or jewellery. Keep your hair, cloth-
ing and gloves away from moving parts.
Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connec-
tion of dust extraction and collection fa-
cilities, ensure these are connected and
properly used. Use of dust collection can
reduce dust-related hazards.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the cor-
rect power tool for your application. The
correct power tool will do the job better and
safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch
does not turn it on and off. Any power tool
that cannot be controlled with the switch is
dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power
source and/or the battery pack from the
power tool before making any adjust-
ments, changing accessories, or stor-

ing power tools. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the
power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach
of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these
instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of
untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for mis-
alignment or binding of moving parts,
breakage of parts and any other condi-
tion that may affect the power tool’s op-
eration. If damaged, have the power tool
repaired before use. Many accidents are
caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with
sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind
and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and
tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the
working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for op-
erations different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a
qualied repair person using only iden-
tical replacement parts. This will ensure
that the safety of the power tool is main-
tained.
Additional safety
rules for sanders
Safety Warnings Common for Sanding:
a) This power tool is intended to function
as a sander. Read all safety warnings,
instructions, illustrations and speci-
cations provided with this power tool.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below
may result in electric shock, re and/or seri-
ous injury.
b) Operations such as grinding or cutting-
off are not recommended to be per-
formed with this power tool.
Operations
for which the power tool was not designed
may create a hazard and cause personal
injury.
c) Do not use accessories which are
not specically designed and recom-
mended by the tool manufacturer. Just
because the accessory can be attached to
your power tool, it does not assure safe op-
eration.
Never mount circular blades or grinding
wheels for angle grinders.
Use only accessories appropriate for
the processed material and the rotation
speed.
d) The rated speed of the accessory must
be at least equal to the maximum speed
marked on the power tool. Accessories
running faster than their rated speed can
break and y apart.
e) The outside diameter and the thickness
of your accessory must be within the
capacity rating of your power tool. In-
correctly sized accessories cannot be ad-
equately guarded or controlled.
f) Threaded mounting of accessories
must match the grinder spindle thread.
For accessories mounted by anges,
the arbour hole of the accessory must
t the locating diameter of the ange.
Accessories that do not match the mount-
ing hardware of the power tool will run out
of balance, vibrate excessively and may
cause loss of control.
g) Do not use a damaged accessory. Be-
fore each use inspect the accessory
such as backing pad for cracks, tear
or excess wear, wire brush for loose or
cracked wires. If power tool or acces-
sory is dropped, inspect for damage or
install an undamaged accessory. After
inspecting and installing an accessory,
position yourself and bystanders away
from the plane of the rotating accessory
and run the power tool at maximum no-
load speed for one minute. Damaged ac-
cessories will normally break apart during
this test time.
h) Wear personal protective equipment.
Depending on application, use face
shield, safety goggles or safety glasses.
As appropriate, wear dust mask, hearing
protectors, gloves and workshop apron
capable of stopping small abrasive or
workpiece fragments. The eye protection
must be capable of stopping ying debris
generated by various operations. The dust
mask or respirator must be capable of l-
trating particles generated by your opera-
tion. Prolonged exposure to high intensity
noise may cause hearing loss.
i) Keep bystanders a safe distance away
from work area. Anyone entering the

work area must wear personal protec-
tive equipment. Fragments of workpiece
or of a broken accessory may y away and
cause injury beyond immediate area of op-
eration.
Use clamps or a vice to secure your
work whenever possible.
Do not apply side pressure to stop the
pad rotation after switching the machine
off.
Guide the machine towards the proc-
essed material only if the machine is
switched on.
j) Position the cord clear of the spinning
accessory. If you lose control, the cord
may be cut or snagged and your hand or
arm may be pulled into the spinning acces-
sory.
k) Never lay the power tool down until the
accessory has come to a complete stop.
The spinning accessory may grab the sur-
face and pull the power tool out of your con-
trol.
l) Do not run the power tool while carrying
it at your side. Accidental contact with the
spinning accessory could snag your cloth-
ing, pulling the accessory into your body.
m) Regularly clean the power tool’s air
vents. The motor’s fan will draw the dust
inside the housing and excessive accumu-
lation of powdered metal may cause electri-
cal hazards.
n) Do not operate the power tool near am-
mable materials. Sparks could ignite these
materials.
o) Do not use accessories that require
liquid coolants. Using water or other liq-
uid coolants may result in electrocution or
shock.
This power tool is designed for dry
sanding only.
The tool must be used only for its pre-
scribed purpose. Any use other use
than those mentioned in this Instruction
will be considered a case of misuse. The
user and not the manufacturer shall be li-
able for any damage or injury resulting from
such cases of misuse.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for
any changes made to the tool nor for any
damage resulting from such changes.
When operating in dusty environment,
the ventilation slots must be kept clean.
If it should become necessary to clear
dust, rst disconnect the tool from the
mains supply (use non metallic objects
to clean the dust) and avoid damaging
internal parts. The power tool will over-
heat under deteriorated cooling due to the
clogged with dust ventilation slots.
Power tools must not be used outdoors
in rainy weather, or in moist environ-
ment (after rain) or in close vicinity with
easily ammable liquids and gases. The
working place should be well lit.

tions
Kickback and Related Warnings
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or
snagged rotating wheel, backing pad, brush
or any other accessory. Pinching or snagging
causes rapid stalling of the rotating accessory
which in turn causes the uncontrolled power tool
to be forced in the direction opposite of the ac-
cessory’s rotation at the point of the binding.
Kickback is the result of power tool misuse and/
or incorrect operating procedures or conditions
and can be avoided by taking proper precau-
tions as given below.
a) Maintain a rm grip on the power tool
and position your body and arm to al-
low you to resist kickback forces. Al-
ways use auxiliary handle, if provided,
for maximum control over kickback or
torque reaction during start-up. The
operator can control torque reactions or
kickback forces, if proper precautions are
taken.
b) Never place your hand near the rotating
accessory. Accessory may kickback over
your hand.
c) Do not position your body in the area
where power tool will move if kickback
occurs. Kickback will propel the tool in di-
rection opposite to the pad movement at
the point of snagging.
d) Use special care when working corners,
sharp edges etc. Avoid bouncing and
snagging the accessory. Corners, sharp
edges or bouncing have a tendency to
snag the rotating accessory and cause loss
of control or kickback.
е) Do not attach a saw chain woodcarving
blade or toothed saw blade.
Such blades
create frequent kickback and loss of con-
trol.

ing disc paper. Follow manufacturer’s
recommendations, when selecting
sanding paper. Larger sanding paper ex-
tending beyond the sanding pad presents
a laceration hazard and may cause snag-
ging, tearing of the disc or kickback.
Know your product
Before using the power tool, familiarize your-
self with all the operating features and safety
requirements.
Use the tool and accessories only for the ap-
plications intended. All other applications are
expressly ruled out.

Operation
These power tools are supplied from single-
phase alternating current mains only. They are
double insulated according to EN 60745-1,
IEC 60745-1 and can be connected to grounded
or not grounded sockets. This power tool is radio
suppressed in compliance with EMC Directive.
The basic use of this power tool is for sand-
ing plaster coated ceilings and walls, for sand-
ing smoothed drywalls and for removing paint,
wallpaper and adhesive remnants by means of
sandpaper.
When using an appropriate tool the machine can
be used for sanding stone and concrete walls.
This power toll is not designed for CUTTING!
WARNING: Using this power tool with

PRIOR TO INITIAL OPERATION
Make sure the power supply voltage corre-
sponds to the value indicated on the name
plate with technical data of the tool.
Make sure that the cord and the plug are in
order. If the replacement of the supply cord is
necessary, this has to be done by the manu-
facturer or his agent in order to avoid a safety
hazard.

WARNING: Always switch off and un-
plug the power tool prior to any adjustment,
servicing or maintenance.
In case the work area is remote from the pow-
er source, use as short as practicable exten-
sion cord with proper cross-section.
Check that the auxiliary handle is properly
mounted and reliably tightened.
PREPARATION FOR OPERATION
DUST EXTRACTION
WARNING: It is obligatory to connect
the sander to a M-class vacuum cleaner prior
to operation.
Using dust bags or lters inappropriate to col-
lect the dust separated during dry sanding will
increase the dust particles in the air. Over a pro-
longed period the high dust concentration in the
air may damage operator’s respiratory system.
CONNECTING TO A VACUUM CLEAN-
ER
Insert a special dust bag for collecting the dust
separated during dry sanding into the vacuum
cleaner according to the instructions supplied
with the vacuum cleaner.
Pass the hose through the clamp (6).
Connect the hose (24) of the vacuum cleaner to
the dust extraction port (10) positioned on the
guard (11).
We recommend using this power tool with
SPARKY vacuum cleaners to achieve optimum
results in collecting the dust generated during
operation.
USING AUXILIARY ACCESSORIES
The power tool is delivered with the clamp (6)
mounted to facilitate you.
This accessory is designed for additional fas-
tening of the vacuum cleaner hose to the power
tool.
The clamp (6) is mounted to the driving machine
(4).
Fasten the vacuum cleaner hose to the clamp (6).
As the clamp (6) is intended for a certain type of
hose in some cases the hose may move in the
clamp (24), in other cases it is rmly fastened.
This feature does not affect the power tool us-
age in any way.
SELECTING THE ACCESSORIES AND
PREPARATION FOR OPERATION
The selection of accessory depends on the in-
tended operation. Generally the permitted op-
erations with this power tool are the following:
- Sanding with sandpaper (18) or abrasive net;
- Cleaning with diamond disc (21);
- Fine sanding with sanding pads for dry ne
sanding max. Ø7” with hook-and-loop fasten-
ing.
Familiarise yourself with the instructions for
preparation for work with the corresponding ac-
cessory. Perform accurately the described pro-
cedures for mounting, replacement and remov-
ing the corresponding accessories.
SWITCHING ON - SWITCHING OFF
The sander is secured against unintentional
switching on.
Switching on: Select the necessary speed by
rotating the electronic regulator (19). Move the
ON/OFF switch (5) forward.
Switching off: Move the ON/OFF switch (5)
backward.
ELECTRONIC SPEED PRE-SELECTION
The rotation speed can be varied smoothly by
turning the electronic regulator (19), positioned
on the rear of the sander.
The speed adjustment range varies from n =

The sander is equipped with full-wave tachocon-
stant electronics for:
- Soft start and restriction of the starting cur-
rent;
- Speed pre-selection and control and main-
taining constant rpm upon overloading;
- Brief overload protection (upon jamming the
wheel). To resume operation release the ON/
OFF switch and then press it again.
- Continuous overload protection (the thermal
protection switches the machine off to protect
the motor from inadmissible overheating). Upon
actuating the thermal protection the machine
becomes disabled. Тo resume operation release
the ON/OFF switch and then press it again.
- Non-self starting safety (NVR) after restoring
the mains supply. To resume operation release
the ON/OFF switch and then press it again.
MOUNTING THE ACCESSORIES
When mounting the sanding accessories x the
sander spindle (1) by pressing the lock button
(3) positioned on the gear box.
WARNING: Never press the button
(3) while the spindle (8) is still rotating!
SANDING WITH SANDPAPER
The selection of sandpaper depends on the de-
sired surface quality. For rough operations use
sandpaper with larger grit size, and for ne and
nishing operations use sandpaper with smaller
grit size to achieve surface smoothness.
We recommend using original SPARKY acces-
sories specially designed for achieving optimum
results.
Use only hook-and-loop sanding sheets.
Do not use sanding discs with diameter exceed-
ing the maximum permitted for the power tool.
Refer to power tool specications.
MOUNTING THE ACCESSORIES FOR
SANDING WITH SANDPAPER
The precise and accurate performance of the
below described procedures guarantees the
reliable and safe operation with the power tool.
All instructions are important and result from our
huge experience gained during design and op-
eration of power tools for the described use.
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend xing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. Clean the threaded and face surfaces of
the spindle (8) using soft cloth and brush.
4. Take out the sanding set from the pack-
ing.
5. Clean the ange (14) face surface and
arbour and the support disc (27) face surfaces
using a soft cloth and brush. The support ange
(14) is the thinner ange.
6. Place the support ange (14) onto the
spindle (8) observing the orientation - its at
face should stick to the spindle (8) ange. In-
correctly chosen ange (14) will deteriorate dust
extraction.
7. Ensure there is no dirt or foreign body be-
tween the spindle (8) face and the ange (14)
face which may hamper their contact. The pres-
ence of foreign bodies and disturbed face con-
tact are prerequisites for inexact movement of
the operating tool and increased vibration caus-
ing unsatisfactory quality of the processed sur-
face.
8. Mount the support disc (15) on the ange
(14) and ensure there are no foreign bodies be-
tween their faces.
9. Fasten the tightening nut (16) to x the
support disc (15) to the spindle (8) rmly. It is
obligatory to observe the tightening nut (16) ori-
entation as shown on Fig. A. Otherwise tighten-
ing the support disc (15) will not be possible.
10. Press the spindle lock button (3) and ro-
tate the support disc (15) clockwise until the but-
ton sinks and locks the spindle (8) movement.
11. Fasten the tightening nut (16) reliably us-
ing the pin spanner (26) supplied with the ma-
chine.
12. Release the spindle lock button (3) and
ensure that the button is back in its initial po-
sition and does not lock the spindle (8) move-
ment. If necessary rotate the spindle (8) by hand
to release the button (3) so it can return in its
initial position.

13. Remove the pin spanner (26).
14. Mount the exible pad (17) onto the sup-
port disc (15). Ensure the coaxiality between the
openings of the support disc (15) and the ex-
ible pad (17) for better dust extraction. Proper
dust extraction is a prerequisite for high quality
of the processed surface.
MOUNTING THE SANDPAPER
The machine is delivered assembled. All you
have to do is mount the selected sandpaper
and check if the tightening nut (16) is fastened
rmly.
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend xing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. Fasten the tightening nut (16) rmly using
the pin spanner (26) supplied with the machine.
4. Mount the selected sandpaper disc trying
to ensure its coaxiality toward the exible pad
and the support disc.
5. Ensure the coaxiality between the open-
ings of sandpaper and the exible pad (17) for
better dust extraction. Proper dust extraction is
a prerequisite for high quality of the processed
surface.
6. Press the sandpaper (18) to the exible
pad (17) to ensure maximum cohesion of the
hook-and-loop surfaces.
7. Turn the machine with the sandpaper fac-
ing downward.
8. Plug in the power tool.
9. Select position G of the electronic regula-
tor (19). Slide the ON/OFF switch slider (5) for-
ward to start the machine.
10. Let the machine operate at no load for ap-
proximately one minute not allowing the operat-
ing tool to contact any surface.
11. At the event of increased vibrations or
other symptoms not typical for operation, stop
the machine immediately and search for the
reason. If you can not detect the reason your-
self - contact the nearest authorised SPARKY
service centre. Operating with a faulty machine
may cause an accident!
12. If no trouble is detected then you can start
operation.
REPLACING THE SANDPAPER
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend xing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. Remove the clogged sandpaper (18) by
tearing it from the exible pad (17).
4. Follow steps 4 - 12 described in section
„Mounting the sandpaper”.
REMOVING THE ACCESSORIES FOR
SANDING WITH SANDPAPER
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend xing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. Remove the sandpaper (18).
4. Remove the exible pad (17) by tearing it
from the support disc (15).
5. Press the spindle lock button (3) and rotate
by hand the operating accessory clockwise until
the button sinks and locks the spindle. Remove
the tightening nut (16) using the pin spanner
(26). After removing the nut ensure that the lock
button (3) has returned in its initial position and
does not lock the spindle (8) movement. In case
the button (3) still locks the spindle (8) rotate the
spindle by hand until the lock button has been
released and returned in its initial position.
6. Remove the support disc (15) and the sup-
port ange (14).
SANDING WITH ABRASIVE NET
Operation with abrasive net is entirely analogi-
cal to operating with sandpaper.
Familiarise yourself with the corresponding
information for using sandpaper in the corre-
sponding sections and perform the described
procedures.
OPERATING WITH DIAMOND DISC
The choice of the diamond disc (21) depends on
the material you intend to process, the surface
quality you intend to achieve, etc. The maximum
diamond disc diameter to use with this machine
is 7” (~178 mm). The diamond disc max. weight
should not exceed 0.5 kg. Diamond disc bore
shall be Ø22.23 mm. The use of discs with bore
differing from the specied here is not admitted.
MOUNTING THE DIAMOND DISC
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.

cess to the operating tool. We recommend xing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. If you have already used the power tool
with another accessory - remove it following the
steps described in the corresponding section for
this accessory.
4. Clean the threaded and face surfaces of
the spindle (8) using a soft cloth.
5. Take the ange (20) for operation with a
diamond disc and place it on the face of the
spindle (8). Please note that ange (20) for
operation with a diamond disc is different from
ange (14) for operation with sandpaper. The
visual difference is in their thickness - the ange
for operating with a diamond disc is thicker. The
support ange (20) is thicker than ange (14). If
the ange is selected improperly operation will
be impossible as the spindle will project consid-
erably above the diamond disc surface.
6. Ensure there is no dirt or foreign body be-
tween the spindle (8) face and the ange (20)
face which may hamper their contact. The pres-
ence of foreign bodies and disturbed face con-
tact are prerequisites for inexact movement of
the operating tool and increased vibration caus-
ing unsatisfactory quality of the processed sur-
face.
7. Mount the diamond disc (21) so that its
bore enters the ange (20) step.
8. Fasten the nut (16) in order to x rmly the
diamond disc (21) to the spindle (8). It is obliga-
tory to observe the orientation of the xing nut
(16) as shown on Fig. B. Otherwise the nut (16)
will not x the diamond disc (21) reliably.
9. Press the spindle lock button (3) and ro-
tate the spindle (8) clockwise until the button
sinks and locks the spindle (8) movement.
10. Tighten rmly the nut (16) using the pin
spanner (26) supplied with the machine.
11. Release the spindle lock button (3). En-
sure that the button (3) has returned in its ini-
tial position and does not lock the spindle (8)
movement. In case the button (3) still locks the
spindle (8), rotate the spindle (8) or the diamond
disc (21) by hand until the button (3) has been
released and returned in its initial position.
12. Remove the pin spanner (26).
13. Turn the machine with the diamond disc
facing downward.
14. Plug the power tool.
15. Slide the ON/OFF switch (5) forward to
switch on the machine.
16. Let the machine operate at no load for
approximately one minute not allowing the dia-
mond disc (21) to contact any surface.
17. At the event of increased vibrations or
other symptoms not typical for operation, stop
the machine immediately and search for the
reason. If you can not detect the reason your-
self - contact the nearest authorised SPARKY
service centre. Operating with a faulty machine
may cause an accident!
18. If no trouble is detected then you can start
operation.

until the button sinks and locks the spindle (8)
movement. Remove the tightening nut (16) us-
ing the pin spanner (26). After removing the
nut ensure that the button (3) has returned in
its initial position and does not lock the spindle
(8) movement. In case the button (3) still locks
the spindle (25) rotate the spindle by hand until
the button has been released and returned in its
initial position.
4. Remove the diamond disc (21) and ange
(20).
5. Clean the accessories for operation with
the diamond disc and store them for future use.
6. Follow steps 4 - 18 from section „Mounting
the diamond disc”.
REMOVING THE ACCESSORIES FOR
OPERATION WITH DIAMOND DISC
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend xing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. Follow steps 3 - 5 from section „Replacing
the diamond disc”.
OPERATING WITH SANDING PADS
FOR FINE SANDING
Sanding pads (25) for dry ne sanding and
hook-and-loop fastening and a exible backing
pad are used for this purpose.
The selection of a pad for ne sanding (25) de-
pends on the desired surface quality. Usually to

achieve the nal surface appearance several
pads with different grit are used starting with a
larger grit pad and passing consecutively to the
smallest grid pad for nishing.
The sanding pad (25) diameter must be equal to
the exible backing pad diameter.
Check the condition of the exible pad (23)
hook-and-loop fastening regularly. Hook-and-
loop fastening with injured and worn-out hooks
is a prerequisite for poor sanding pad fastening
and hence - a probability for an accident. Do not
operate exible pads with damaged hook-and-
loop system.
MOUNTING THE SANDING PAD
1. Ensure that the power tool is unplugged.
2. Turn the machine in a way ensuring ac-
cess to the operating tool. We recommend xing
the machine in stationary position. Thus it would
be possible to use both hands for convenient
and safe assembly.
3. If you have already used the power tool
with another accessory - remove it following the
steps described in the corresponding section for
this accessory.
4. Clean the threaded and face surfaces of
the spindle (8) using a soft cloth.
5. Place the support bush (22) on the spindle
(8) front surface.
6. Ensure there is no dirt or foreign body
between the spindle (8) face and the bush (22)
face which may hamper their contact. The pres-
ence of foreign bodies and disturbed face con-
tact are prerequisites for inexact movement of
the operating tool and increased vibration caus-
ing unsatisfactory quality of the processed sur-
face.
7. Screw the exible backing pad (23) onto
the spindle (8) М14 thread.
8. Press the spindle lock button (3) and ro-
tate the exible backing pad (23) clockwise until
the button sinks and locks the spindle (8) move-
ment.
9. Tighten the exible backing pad (23) by
hand rotating it clockwise.
10. Release the spindle lock button (3). En-
sure that the button (3) has returned in its ini-
tial position and does not lock the spindle (8)
movement. In case the button (3) still locks the
spindle (8), rotate the spindle (8) or the sanding
pad (23) by hand until the button (3) has been
released and returned in its initial position.
11. Mount the selected sanding pad (25) try-
ing to ensure its coaxiality toward the exible
backing pad (23). Coaxiality is a prerequisite for
lack of vibrations and hence - better quality of
the processed surface.
12. Turn the machine with the sanding pad
(25) facing downward.
13. Plug the power tool.
14. Slide the ON/OFF switch slider (5) forward
to switch on the machine.
15. Let the machine operate at no load for ap-
proximately one minute not allowing the sanding
pad (25) to contact any surface.
16. At the event of increased vibrations or
other symptoms not typical for operation, stop
the machine immediately and search for the
reason. If you can not detect the reason your-
self - contact the nearest authorised SPARKY
service centre. Operating with a faulty machine

anti-clockwise. After removing the exible back-
ing pad (23) release the lock button (3) and en-
sure that it has returned in its initial position and
does not lock the spindle (8) movement. In case
the button (3) still locks the spindle (25) rotate
the spindle by hand until the button has been
released and returned in its initial position.
4. Remove the exible backing pad (23) and
the bush (22).
5. Clean the accessories for operation with
ne sanding pads and store them for future
use.

SANDING WALLS AND CEILINGS WITH
SANDPAPER OR ABRASIVE NET
The brush ring (12) is situated on the guard (11)
perimeter. The brush ring features two func-
tions:
- It is the brush ring that comes into contact with
the processed surface rst. As a result the guard
becomes parallel to the surface even before the
operating tool contacts it. This ensures uniform
contact between the tool and the surface.
- The brush ring retains the dust generated
during operation which is subject to extraction
by the dust extraction system and the vacuum
cleaner.
In case the brush ring (12) is damaged, de-
formed or worn out it can not perform the func-
tions it is designed for and shall be replaced im-
mediately. You can purchase a brush ring (12) in
any SPARKY service centre.
Excessive pressure may result in spiral pattern
of scratches, concaves and roughness of the
processed surface. Moreover excessive pres-
sure will overload machine transmission and
probably cause damage of the exible shaft.
The driving machine must be running constantly
while the sanding head is in contact with the
processed surface.
Move the sanding head with uniform speed over
the entire area of the processed surface. Exces-
sive slow motion and motion intermission of the
sanding head will cause uneven processing of
the surface, tool digging and presence of con-
caves and bumps.
SURFACE PROCESSING WITH DIA-
MOND DISC
The diamond disc is most often used for clean-
ing concrete or stone surfaces and wall revet-
ment (footing).
Apply only as much pressure as is required to
keep the diamond disc (21) in contact with the
processed surface.
Do not apply excessive pressure. Excessive
pressure does not increase efciency. It is a
prerequisite for the power tool fault.
SURFACE PROCESSING WITH SAND-
ING PADS
The sanding pads for dry sanding (25) are most
often used to achieve a specic surface appear-
ance (cleaning, renovation, and gloss) of wall
revetment made of decorative stone slabs (mar-
ble, granite, limestone, etc.).
Apply only as much pressure as it is required
to keep the sanding pad (25) in contact with
the processed surface. Do not apply excessive
pressure. Excessive pressure does not increase
efciency. It is a prerequisite for the power tool
fault. Excessive pressure may damage the proc-
essed surface.
RECOMMENDATIONS
When sanding do not apply pressure to the
processed surface by rearing down on the ma-
chine but move the machine smoothly.
Maintenance
WARNING: Always ensure that the
tool is switched off and unplugged before
attempting to perform inspection or mainte-
nance.
BRUSH REPLACEMENT
This power tool is equipped with auto-stop
brushes. When the carbon brushes are worn
out, the machine switches itself off. In this case
both brushes must be replaced simultaneously
with genuine brushes at SPARKY service centre
for warranty and post-warranty service.
GENERAL INSPECTION
Regularly inspect all fasteners and ensure they
are properly tightened. Should any of the screws
be loose, retighten it immediately to avoid haz-
ards.
If the replacement of the supply cord is neces-
sary, this has to be done by the manufacturer or
his agent in order to avoid a safety hazard.
CLEANING
For safe operation always keep the machine
and its ventilation slots clean.
Regularly check to see if any dust or foreign mat-
ter has entered the ventilation slots and the grills
around the switches. Use a soft brush and/or air
jet to remove any accumulated dust. Wear safety
glasses to protect your eyes whilst cleaning.
Exterior plastic parts may be cleaned with a
damp cloth and mild detergent if necessary.

or other cleaning agent. Never use caustic
agents to clean plastic parts.
WARNING: Water must never come
into contact with the tool.
IMPORTANT! To assure product safety and re-
liability, repairs, maintenance and adjustment
(including brush inspection and replacement)
should be performed by certied service centres
or other qualied service organisations, always
using genuine replacement parts.
Warranty
The guarantee period for SPARKY power tools
is determined in the guarantee card.
Faults due to normal wear, overloading or im-
proper handling will be excluded from the guar-
antee.
Faults due to defective materials implemented
as well as defects in workmanship will be cor-
rected free of charge through replacement or
repair.
The complaints for defective SPARKY power
tools will be recognized if the machine is sent
back to the dealer or is presented to the author-
ised warranty service centre undismantled, in its
initial condition.

AUSPACKEN
Überprüfen Sie unmittelbar nach dem Auspacken ob sämtliche Bestandteile und das beschriebene
Zubehör mitgeliefert wurden. Sollte dies nicht der Fall sein, wenden Sie sich bitte umgehend an Ihren
Fachhändler bei dem das Elektrowerkzeug gekauft wurde. Dies trifft auch dann zu, wenn Sie den
Eindruck haben mit dem Gerät ist etwas nicht in Ordnung. Eine Nichtbeachtung dieser Empfehlung
kann zu schweren Unfällen führen.

Originalbetriebsanleitung
Der in diesen Anweisungen angegebene Schwingungspegel ist entsprechend einem in EN 60745
genormten Messverfahren gemessen worden und kann für den Vergleich von Elektrowerkzeugen
miteinander verwendet werden. Er eignet sich auch für eine vorläuge Einschätzung der Schwin-
gungsbelastung.
Der angegebene Schwingungspegel repräsentiert die hauptsächlichen Anwendungen des Elektro-
werkzeugs. Wenn allerdings das Elektrowerkzeug für andere Anwendungen, mit abweichenden Ein-
satzwerkzeugen oder ungenügender Wartung eingesetzt wird, kann der Schwingungspegel abwei-
chen. Dies kann die Schwingungsbelastung über den gesamten Arbeitszeitraum deutlich erhöhen.
Für eine genaue Abschätzung der Schwingungsbelastung sollten auch die Zeiten berücksichtigt wer-
den, in denen das Gerät abgeschaltet ist oder zwar läuft, aber nicht tatsächlich im Einsatz ist. Dies
kann die Schwingungsbelastung über den gesamten Arbeitszeitraum deutlich reduzieren.
Pegen Sie das Gerät und die Einsatzwerkzeuge mit Sorgfalt. Halten Sie Ihre Hände warm während
der Arbeit - dies wird die schädliche Einwirkung erhöhter Schwingungen reduzieren.
Bei anderen Arbeiten, z.B. Schleifen mit Abrasivscheiben oder Reinigung mit Drahtbürste können die
Schwingungsemissionen auch andere Werte haben.
Stäube von Materialien wie bleihaltigem Anstrich, einigen Holzarten, Mineralien und Metall können
gesundheitsschädlich sein. Berühren oder Einatmen der Stäube können allergische Reaktionen und/
oder Atemwegserkrankungen des Benutzers oder in der Nähe bendlicher Personen hervorrufen.
Bestimmte Stäube wie Eichen- oder Buchenstaub gelten als krebserzeugend, besonders in Verbin-
dung mit Zusatzstoffen zur Holzbehandlung (Chromat, Holzschutzmittel). Asbesthaltiges Material darf
nur von Fachleuten bearbeitet werden.
Benutzen Sie möglichst eine Staubabsaugung.
Sorgen Sie für gute Belüftung des Arbeitsplatzes.
Es wird empfohlen, eine Atemschutzmaske mit Filterklasse P2 zu tragen.
Beachten Sie in Ihrem Land gültige Vorschriften für die zu bearbeitenden Materialien.

Allgemeine
Sicherheitshinweise
für Elektrowerkzeuge
WARNUNG: Lesen Sie alle Sicher-
heitshinweise und Anweisungen. Versäum-
nisse bei der Einhaltung der Sicherheitshin-
weise und Anweisungen können elektrischen
Schlag, Brand und/oder schwere Verletzun-
gen verursachen.
Bewahren Sie alle Sicherheitshinweise
und Anweisungen für die Zukunft auf.
Der in den Sicherheitshinweisen verwende-
te Begriff „Elektrowerkzeug“ bezieht sich auf
netzbetriebene Elektrowerkzeuge (mit Netzka-
bel) und auf akkubetriebene Elektrowerkzeuge
(ohne Netzkabel).
1) Arbeitsplatzsicherheit
a) Halten Sie Ihren Arbeitsbereich sauber
und gut beleuchtet. Unordnung oder un-
beleuchtete Arbeitsbereiche können zu Un-
fällen führen.
b) Arbeiten Sie mit dem Elektrowerkzeug
nicht in explosionsgefährdeter Umge-
bung, in der sich brennbare Flüssigkei-
ten, Gase oder Stäube benden. Elek-
trowerkzeuge erzeugen Funken, die den
Staub oder die Dämpfe entzünden können.
c) Halten Sie Kinder und andere Personen
während der Benutzung des Elektro-
werkzeugs fern. Bei Ablenkung können
Sie die Kontrolle über das Gerät verlieren.
2) Elektrische Sicherheit
a) Der Anschlussstecker des Elektro werk-
zeuges muss in die Steckdose passen.
Der Stecker darf in keiner Weise ver-
ändert werden. Verwenden Sie keine
Adapterstecker gemeinsam mit schutz-
geerdeten Elektrowerkzeugen. Unverän-
derte Stecker und passende Steckdosen
verringern das Risiko eines elektrischen
Schlages.
b) Vermeiden Sie Körperkontakt mit geer-
deten Oberächen wie von Rohren, Hei-
zungen, Herden und Kühlschränken. Es
besteht ein erhöhtes Risiko durch elektri-
schen Schlag, wenn Ihr Körper geerdet ist.
c) Halten Sie Elektrowerkzeuge von Re-
gen oder Nässe fern. Das Eindringen von
Wasser in ein Elektrowerkzeug erhöht das
Risiko eines elektrischen Schlages.
d) Zweckentfremden Sie das Kabel nicht,
um das Elektrowerkzeug zu tragen, auf-
zuhängen oder um den Stecker aus der
Steckdose zu ziehen. Halten Sie das Ka-
bel fern von Hitze, Öl, scharfen Kanten
oder sich bewegenden Geräteteilen. Be-
schädigte oder verwickelte Kabel erhöhen
das Risiko eines elektrischen Schlages.
e) Wenn Sie mit einem Elektrowerkzeug
im Freien arbeiten, verwenden Sie nur
Verlängerungskabel, die auch für den
Außenbereich geeignet sind. Die Anwen-
dung eines für den Außenbereich geeig-
neten Verlängerungskabels verringert das
Risiko eines elektrischen Schlages.
f) Wenn der Betrieb des Elektrowerkzeu-
ges in feuchter Umgebung nicht ver-
meidbar ist, verwenden Sie einen Feh-
lerstromschutzschalter. Der Einsatz eines
Fehlerstromschutzschalters vermindert das
Risiko eines elektrischen Schlages.
3) Sicherheit von Personen
a) Seien Sie aufmerksam, achten Sie da-
rauf, was Sie tun, und gehen Sie mit
Vernunft an die Arbeit mit einem Elekt-
rowerkzeug. Benutzen Sie kein Elektro-
werkzeug, wenn Sie müde sind oder
unter dem Einuss von Drogen, Alkohol
oder Medikamenten stehen. Ein Moment
der Unachtsamkeit beim Gebrauch des
Elektrowerkzeuges kann zu ernsthaften
Verletzungen führen.
b) Tragen Sie persönliche Schutzausrüs-
tung und immer eine Schutz brille. Das
Tragen persönlicher Schutzausrüstung, wie
Staubmaske, rutschfeste Sicherheitsschu-
he, Schutzhelm oder Gehörschutz, je nach
Art und Einsatz des Elektrowerkzeuges,
verringert das Risiko von Verletzungen.
c) Vermeiden Sie eine unbeabsichtigte In-
betriebnahme. Vergewissern Sie sich,
dass das Elektrowerkzeug ausgeschal-
tet ist, bevor Sie es an die Stromversor-
gung und/oder den Akku anschließen,
es aufnehmen oder tragen. Wenn Sie
beim Tragen des Elektrowerkzeuges den
Finger am Schalter haben oder das Gerät
eingeschaltet an die Stromversorgung an-
schließen, kann dies zu Unfällen führen.
d) Entfernen Sie Einstellwerkzeuge oder
Schraubenschlüssel, bevor Sie das
Elektrowerkzeug einschalten. Ein Werk-
zeug oder Schlüssel, der sich in einem dre-
henden Geräteteil bendet, kann zu Verlet-
zungen führen.
e) Vermeiden Sie eine abnormale Körper-
