Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the USB Type C to Serial Adapter - 9 Way (RS-232). This product has been
designed to provide trouble free, reliable operation. It benefits from both a LINDY 2 year warranty and free
lifetime technical support. To ensure correct use, please read this manual carefully and retain it for future
reference.
The USB Type C to Serial Adapter - 9 Way (RS-232) uses a single Type C male port and connects to a 9
Way D Port, giving you a simple way of connecting peripheral devices with a Serial RS–232 port to USB
Type C devices.

Installation & Operation
Connect the USB Type C connector to the Type C port on your device, and connect the Serial connector
to the 9 Way D Port on your peripheral device. If the driver does not install automatically, please download
from the Lindy.com website. Once this has downloaded, extract all files. For Windows users click the
Setup.exe file and then click Run as Administrator. For MAC users click the Mac folder then click the
appropriate MacOS folder for the applicable version. For both software users, on-screen instructions will
be provided to complete the driver installation. A restart is then required when notified. Connect the USB
Type C to Serial Adapter - 9 Way (RS-232) after the restart.
To ensure the appropriate driver has correctly been installed, for windows users click device manager in
the Start menu and open Ports (COM&LPT).The Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COMx) driver should
now appear in this list. For Mac users, click System Profiler and open the Hardware section. In USB,
USB-Serial Controller D should now appear in this list.

Installation & Betrieb
Stecken Sie den USB Typ C Anschluss in die USB Typ C Buchse Ihres Computers, dann verbinden Sie
den seriellen Stecker mit dem RS232 Anschluss Ihres seriellen Geräts. Sollte der Treiber nicht
automatisch installiert werden, laden Sie ihn bitte von Lindy.com herunter. Entpacken Sie dann die
Dateien. Windows-Nutzer starten dann bitte die Setup.exe und klicken auf „als Administrator ausführen“.
Mac-Nutzer öffnen bitte den Ordner mit der entsprechenden MacOS Version. Sowohl Windows- als auch
Mac-Anwender folgen dann einfach den Bildschirmanweisungen um die Treiberinstallation abzuschließen.
Möglicherweise ist ein Neustart erforderlich. Schließen Sie den USB Typ C auf RS232 Seriell Adapter
nach dem Neustart erneut an.
Um sicherzustellen, dass der Teriber korrekt installiert wurde, klicken Windowsnutzer auf den
Gerätemanager im Startmenü und öffnen die Ports (COM&LPT). Der Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port
(COMx) Treiber sollte nun in der Liste erscheinen. Mac Anwender öffnen den System Profiler. Hier sollte
nun bei der USB Hardware der USB Serial Controller D in der Liste erscheinen.

Installation & Utilisation
Connectez le connecteur USB Type C mâle au port Type C de votre appareil, connectez ensuite le
connecteur série 9D au port série de votre périphérique. Si les pilotes ne s’installent pas automatiquement,
merci dans ce cas de les télécharger sur notre site sous Lindy.com. Une fois les pilotes téléchargés,
veuillez extraire tous les fichiers. Pour Windows, cliquez sur Setup.exe puis exécutez en tant
qu’administrateur. Pour MAC cliquez sur le dossier Mac, puis ouvrez le dossier MacOS correspondant à
votre version. Pour les deux systèmes, des instructions s’affichant à l’écran vous seront fournis pour
compléter l’installation des pilotes. Un redémarrage pourra vous être demandé si nécessaire. Connectez
l’Adaptateur USB Type C vers Série – 9D (RS-232) après redémarrage.
Pour vous assurer de la bonne installation des pilotes, pour Windows cliquez sur gestionnaire de
périphérique dans le menu Démarrer et ouvrez Ports (COM&LPT). Le pilote Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm
Port (COMx) devrait apparaitre dans la liste. Pour Mac, cliquez sur System Profiler et ouvrez la section
Hardware. Sous USB, USB-Serial Controller D devrait apparaitre dans cette liste.

Installazione & Utilizzo
Collegate il connettore Tipo C ad una porta USB Tipo C libera sul vostro PC e collegate il connettore
Seriale ad una periferica dotato di porta RS232 9 Poli. Se il driver non viene installato automaticamente
dal sistema operativo vi preghiamo di rimuovere l’adattatore e di scaricare quello corretto dal sito
Lindy.com. Una volta scaricato estraete tutti i file. Per gli utenti Windows fate click con il tasto destro sul
file Setup.exe e selezionate “Avvia come Amministratore”. Per gli utenti MAC utilizzate fate click sulla
cartella Mac e poi fate ancora click sulla cartella MacOS relativa alla versione che state utilizzando. Per
entrambi le tipologie di utenti verranno mostrate a schermo le istruzioni per completare l’installazione dei
driver. Un riavvio sarà necessario quando notificato. Collegate l’adattatore USB Tipo a Seriale dopo il
riavvio.
Per assicurarvi che il driver appropriato sia stato correttamente installato, per gli utenti Windows fate
click sulla Gestione Dispositivi e aprite la sezione Porte (COM & LPT). Una porta seriale Prolific USB-to-
Serial (COMx) dovrebbe comparire nella lista. Per gli utenti Mac fate click sul System Profiler e aprite la
sezione Hardware. Nella sezione USB dovrebbe comparire un controller USB- Seriale.

these products must enter the recycling process.
Each individual EU member state has implemented the WEEE regulations into national law in slightly different ways.
Please follow your national law when you want to dispose of any electrical or electronic products. More details can

Germany / Deutschland Rücknahme Elektroschrott und Batterie-Entsorgung
