6.1.1 Grass shears without long handle
The grass shears is supplied ready assembled.
1. (Fig. 5) Push the battery into the battery
mount provided (Fig. 2/Item 10) until you hear
the catch click into position. To take out the
battery, press the pushlock button (Item C)
and remove the battery.
2. (Fig. 5) Remove the blade guard hood (Item
9).
3. (Fig. 5) To switch on, press the safety lock-off
(Item 3) and press the On/Off switch (Item 4)
at the same time.
4. To switch off , let go of the On/Off switch.
6.1.2 Grass shears with long handle
Caution! Carry out all the following assembly, dis-
mantling and adjustment work without a recharge-
able battery – risk of injury. Use protective gloves
and the blade guard hood which is supplied with
the equipment.
6.1.2.1 Assembly and adjustment
1. (Fig. 6a/Fig. 6b) Push the wheel holder (Fig.
2/Item 2) onto the grass shears until you hear
the catch click into position.
2. (Fig. 7a/Fig. 7b) Push the fi tting (Fig. 2/Item
8) of the long handle into the battery mount of
the grass shears until you hear the catch click
into position.
3. (Fig. 7b) To adjust the height, turn the locking
nut (Item D) to the left (OPEN) and pull the te-
lescopic bottom handle (Item E) out as far as
you want to meet your requirements (max. 30
cm). Turn the locking nut (Item D) to the right
(LOCK) to fasten it again.
4. (Fig. 8) To adjust the angle, press the locking
button (Item F) and adjust it to your require-
ments (max. 5 positions). To lock it at the set
angle, release the locking button.
5. (Fig. 9) Push the battery into the battery
mount provided until you hear the catch click
into position.
6. Remove the blade guard hood.
6.1.3 Switching on/off .
Note: When the long handle is fi tted, the grass
shears can only be switched on and off using the
On/Off switch on the long handle.
1. (Fig. 9) To switch on, press the safety lock-off
(Item 3) and press the On/Off switch (Item 4)
at the same time.
2. To switch off , let go of the On/Off switch.
6.1.4 Dismantling
1. Fit the blade guard hood.
2. (Fig. 9) Press the pushlock button (Item C)
and remove the battery.
3. (Fig. 7b) Pull back the lock (Item H) and pull
off the long handle.
4. (Fig. 6b) Press the locking lever (Item K)
down and pull off the wheel holder.
6.2 Using the equipment as shrub shears
Hold the shrub shears slightly tilted in the direc-
tion of the shrub you wish to cut. Start by cutting
the sides of the shrub working from the bottom
up, and fi nally cut the top of the shrub. The blade
guard hood must be slid over the blade and the
rechargeable battery removed when the equip-
ment is not being used.

Shrubs which loose their leaves in the autumn
should be cut in June and October.
•
Evergreen shrubs should be cut in April and
August.
6.2.1 Assembly
Since the equipment is supplied as grass shears
(see section 6.1.1), the grass cutting blade has to
be swapped over for the shrub cutter blade which
is supplied with the product. Caution! Carry out
all the following assembly, dismantling and adjust-
ment work without a rechargeable battery – risk of
injury. Use protective gloves and the blade guard
hood which is supplied with the equipment.
1. Push the blade release mechanism (Fig. 10a)
forward, press down on the upper section
(Fig. 10b) and remove the blade at the same
time (Fig. 10b).
2. (Fig. 11a) Slide the blade housing into the
mount on the equipment housing.
3. Push the blade release mechanism forward
again, press down on the upper section (Fig.
11b) and press the blade into the lock at the
same time. The drive unit on the equipment is
now connected to the blade.
4. Push the battery into the battery mount provi-
ded until you hear the catch click into positi-
on.
5. Remove the blade guard hood.
6.2.1.2 Switching on/off .
Proceed as described in section 6.1.3.
