Per il rispetto della norme vigenti e, soprat-
tutto, per la vostra sicurezza, prima di ope-
rare sull’apparato, provvedete tassativa-
mente a disconnettere dalla presa di rete il
cavo di alimentazione.
DISIMBALLO
Per estrarre l'apparecchio dalla scatola, si
consiglia di appoggiarla a terra, afferrate
l'amplificatore con entrambe le mani e tira-
te lentamente verso l'alto sino alla completa
fuoriuscita dell'apparecchio. Appoggiatelo
quindi su di una superficie piana, togliete
gli elementi in plastica e sfilate il sacchetto
di protezione. Il cordone di alimentazione
ed il telecomando in dotazione sono conte-
nuti in due scatoline di cartone incassate
lateralmente all’imballo.
Si consiglia di conservare sia la scatola che
le protezioni interne di polistirene, che
garantiscono una protezione ottimale per
ulteriori eventuali trasporti dell'apparec-
chio.
DOTAZIONE
All'interno dell'imballo troverete oltre a
questo manuale d'uso, i seguenti compo-
nenti:

CONNESSIONE ALLA RETE
L'unità ha in dotazione un cavo di alimen-
tazione separato, dotato ad un estremo di
una presa a norme IEC, e dall'altro di una
spina tedesca "schuko" da 10 A.
Prima di inserire la presa IEC nella relati-
va vaschetta incassata posta nel pannello
posteriore, controllate che l'interruttore di
accensione sia spento.
L’unità è regolata internamente per essere
connessa ad una rete di alimentazione con
tensione nominale come riportato nella tar-
ghetta posta nella parte posteriore dell’am-
plificatore.
Per connetterlo a tensioni diverse richiede-
te l'intervento di un centro di assistenza
SYNTHESIS o rivolgetevi alla casa
madre.

La connessione con altri componenti non
comporta particolari vincoli, se non quello
di utilizzare cavi e connettori di qualità ade-
guata, al fine di non sminuire le qualità
sonore di questo prodotto. Si consiglia di
tenere i cavi di segnale quanto più possibile
lontano da quelli di potenza e d’antenna,
per evitare interferenze.
POSIZIONAMENTO
La dissipazione del calore generato dall’ap-
parecchio è completamente passiva. Essa
sfrutta le correnti convettive dell’aria calda,
che esce dalle feritoie superiori. Pertanto
non necessita di molto spazio lateralmente,
mentre è bene lasciare libero sfogo sopra e
sotto il dispositivo, per permettere all’aria
di circolare liberamente. Non porre l’appa-
recchio a diretta esposizione della luce del
sole o vicino a sorgenti di calore, come un
amplificatore di potenza.
E’ bene tenere presente quanto segue:

* Non bloccare le fessure di ventilazione
ove presenti
CONNESSIONE E CONTROLLI
Pannello posteriore
1) Morsetto GND
Morsetto dedicato al collegamento del cavetto
GND proveniente da giradischi (se presente).
2) Ingresso Phono
Ingresso Phono, tipo RCA, selezionabile trami-
te gli appositi tasti posti sul frontale dell'appa-
recchio. Consente il collegamento di un qual-
siasi giradischi con testina di tipologia MM o
MC ad alto livello con impedenza di 47Kohm.
3) Ingresso Linea
Ingressi linea sbilanciati, tipo RCA, sele-
zionabili tramite gli appositi tasti posti sul
frontale dell'apparecchio.
4) Ingresso coassiale S/PDIF
Ingresso digitale elettrico, di tipo S/PDIF.
Consente di collegare una sorgente dotata
di questo tipo di connessione.
5) Ingresso ottico
Ingresso digitale ottico, di tipo Toslink.
Consente di collegare una sorgente dotata
di questo tipo di connessione.
6) Ingresso USB
Ingresso USB dedicato allo streaming audio
ad alta risoluzione da PC, smartphone o tablet.
7) Uscita diffusore DESTRO
Coppia di uscite di potenza con morsetti a
vite. Il morsetto rosso va collegato al termi-
nale positivo del diffusore, il nero al negati-
vo. Evitare cortocircuiti o l’apparecchio
può subire danneggiamenti.
8) Uscita diffusore SINISTRO
Coppia di uscite di potenza con morsetti a
vite. Il morsetto rosso va collegato al termi-
nale positivo del diffusore, il nero al negati-
vo. Evitare cortocircuiti o l’apparecchio
può subire danneggiamenti.
9) Presa di rete con fusibile
Si tratta di una vaschetta incassata a stan-
dard IEC, in cui può essere connesso qua-
lunque cavo rispondente allo stesso stan-
dard, purchè con portata di almeno 10A.
Incorpora il fusibile che protegge i circuiti
elettrici. In caso di bruciatura senza appa-
renti ragioni non sostituitelo, ma portate
l’apparecchio ad un centro assistenza.

SYMPTOM:

TROUBLESHOOTING
Pannello anteriore
1) Pulsante di accensione
Consente l’accensione e lo spegnimento del-
l’apparecchio.
2) Selettore degli ingressi
Serie di 5 pulsanti. Ad ogni voce indicata
corrisponde il relativo ingresso. Le spie
poste a sinistra dei tasti indicano il canale
selezionato. Il lampeggio della spia indica
che è stata attivata la funzione mute dal tele-
comando.
3) LED Volume
Il led si illumina proporzionalmente all’inten-
sità di volume. Ruotando in senso orario la
manopola il led aumenta di intensità, viceversa
in senso antiorario l’intensità diminuisce.
4) Ricevitore telecomando
Finestra semitrasparente. Nasconde il senso-
re ricevitore ad infrarosso del telecomando.
Evitare di interporre ostacoli tra questa fes-
sura ed il telecomando per non diminuire la
distanza utile di azione.
5) Volume
Ruotando in senso orario la manopola il volu-
me aumenta, viceversa in senso antiorario il
volume diminuisce. Tale controllo può essere
effettuato mediante telecomando in dotazione
premendo i pulsanti con indicazione volume.
TELECOMANDO
1) Emettitore infrarosso
Emettitore infrarosso del telecomando.
Direzionare verso il ricevitore dell’amplificatore

Regola il livello d’ascolto.
• Mute
Silenzia o ripristina il volume d’ascolto.
• Selezione ingressi
Consente la selezione degli ingressi in maniera
sequenziale.
3) Vano batteria (retro)
Le batterie utilizzate sono due (2) ministilo
(AAA), preferibilmente alcaline per una
lunga durata.
RISCALDAMENTO
Nei primi 30 secondi circa dall’accensione,è
automaticamente attivata la funzione di
pre-riscaldamento. I led di selezione degli
ingressi si accendono in maniera sequenziale.
Durante questa fase è attiva la condizione di
mute, pertanto non si udirà alcun suono dai
diffusori.
Le migliori prestazioni sonore si ottengono
dopo almeno 30 minuti di utilizzo.
Non utilizzare mai l’apparecchio senza che
i diffusori siano collegati alle uscite “spea-
kers”
UTILIZZO DEGLI INGRESSI DIGITALI
L’utilizzo di Windows XP potrebbe rendere
necessaria l’impostazione manuale della peri-
ferica audio predefinita.
E’ possibile effettuare tale procedura seguen-
do il percorso:
Start → Impostazioni → Pannello di control-
lo → Suoni e periferiche audio → Audio.
L’interfaccia USB supporta anche il collega-
mento di smartphone o tablet che utilizzano le
più recenti versioni di iOs e Android. Per
maggiori informazioni e compatibilità consul-
tare il manuale utente del proprio dispositivo.
5) Volume
Turn the knob in a clockwise direction to
increase the volume, turn in an anti-clock-
wise direction to reduce the volume. This
can also be controlled using the remote con-
troller, with volume keys. The LED at the
top lights up proportionally to the volume
intensity.
REMOTE CONTROL
1) Infrared emitter
Direct the Infrared emitter of the remote
controller at amplifiers IR receiver.

3) Battery holder (back side)
If battery are exhausted, it is possible to
replace them removing the battery cover,
located on the back side. Battery type are
AAA size x2, preferably alkaline for longer
life.
POWER-UP
For the first 30 seconds after power-up, pre-
heating function is automatically activated,
and input LEDs light up sequentially.
During this time, Mute is active, so that you
will not hear music from loudspeaker.
However best music performances will be
obtained after at least 30 minutes from
power-on.
Do not use this product without loudspea-
kers connected.
USE OF DIGITAL INPUTS
Using Windows XP could required the
manual setting of default audio device. You
can perform this procedure following
the path:
Start → Settings → Control Panel →
Sounds and Audio Devices → Audio.
The converter also supports the connection
of smartphones or tablets using the most
recent versions of IOS and Android. For
further information and compatibility, con-
sult your device’s user manual.

RISOLUZIONE DEI PROBLEMI It is good to take into account the follo-
wing notes:

CONNECTIONS AND CONTROLS
Rear panel
1) GND
GND terminal dedicated to the connection
of the turntable ground wire.
2) Phono Input
Phono input, RCA type, selectable using the
appropriate buttons on the front of the unit.
It allows you to connect turntables using
MM or high output MC cartridges with
47Kohm impedance.
3) Line Input
Unbalanced line input, RCA type, selecta-
ble using the appropriate button on the front
of the unit.
4) Coaxial Input
S/PDIF digital input, RCA type. It allows
you to connect the internal DAC to a digital
audio source.
5) Optical Input
Optical digital input, Toslink type. It allows
you to connect the internal DAC to a digital
audio source.
6) USB Input
USB input dedicated to the high resolution
audio streaming from PC, smartphone or
tablet.
7) LEFT SPEAKER output
Connect the red terminal to the positive bin-
ding post of the loudspeaker and black ter-
minal to the negative binding post of the
loudspeaker. Do not allow cables to short
together, as it may damage the unit.
8) RIGHT SPEAKER output
Connect the red terminal to the positive bin-
ding post of the loudspeaker and black ter-
minal to the negative binding post of the
loudspeaker. Do not allow cables to short
together, as it may damage the unit.
9) Power inlet with fuse
The supply includes an IEC socket to con-
nect a plug meeting the German standard
with current rating of at least 10A. It inclu-
des a separate fuse for the circuit protection.
If the fuse blows without an apparent rea-
son, do not replace it. The unit should be
checked by a SYNTHESIS service center.
Front panel
1) Power switch
Use this to power up and shut down the
unit.
2) Input selector keys
Five buttons allow you to select the desired
input, indicated by the turning on of the
related LED.
Blinking LED indicates that the mute func-
tion has been activated by remote control.
3) Volume LED
The LED lights up in proportion to the inten-
sity of the volume. Turning the knob clockwi-
se turns the LED from green to red.
4) Remote IR receiver
Semi-transparent window. Houses the
infrared receiver for the remote controller.
Placing obstacles between this window and
the remote control will decrease the usable
distance or block it completely.
ENJOY YOUR LISTENING
Your SYNTHESIS amplifier is designed to
be plugged into the household wall outlet
and to other components of your hi-fi
system without the need for internal set-
tings.

LOSES VALIDITY
To ensure your safety, always disconnect
the power cord from the main power line
before working on this equipment.
UNPAKING
To remove the equipment from its shipping
box, open and place it on the floor; take the
unit with both hands and pull it gently
upwards until it is completely out of the
box. Then place the unit on a flat surface,
remove the polystyrene spacers and the pla-
stic bag. The power cord and the remote
control included with your unit are contai-
ned in two carton box fitted in both side of
the unit. We recommend that you keep the
original shipping box, the polystyrene
covers and bag, which guarantee optimal
protection if you need to transport your
equipment.

POWER LINE REQUIREMENTS
The unit includes a separate power supply
cord, which has an IEC standard socket on
one end and a 10A plug meeting the
German "schuko" standard on the other
(where applicable). Before inserting the
IEC socket into the recessed plug located
on the rear panel of the unit, make sure the
main power switch is in the “off” position.
The unit is factory wired for a nominal line
voltage as written on the label on the rear
panel. To use a different voltage from that
indicated, you must contact a SYNTHESIS
service centre.
CONNECTING COMPONENTS
Connections with the rest of an audio
system do not have special limitations. Be
sure to use adequate cables and connectors,
to not degrade the high performances of this
equipment. We suggest to put line-level
analog cables far from any other power or
antenna connection to avoid possible noise.
PLACEMENT
The heat dissipation of vacuum tubes and
internal electronic components is fully pas-
sive. It take advantage of convective cur-
rents created by hot air, which it is made to
flow through the upper openings. This
approach limits the clearance required on
the sides of the unit but still requires an
ample amount of free space on the top and
on the bottom of the device to allow the air
to freely circulate.
Do not expose to direct sunlight or place
near heat sources like power amplifier.

If a foreign body or water does enter the
equipment, contact your nearest dealer or
service center.
Do not pull out the plug by pulling on the
mains lead, hold the plug.
It is advisable when leaving the house, or
during a thunderstorm, to disconnect the
equipment from the mains supply.
