Connect the appliance to a mains power source.
On electronic models, this may cause a signal tone to sound, indicating that the temperature alarm has
been triggered. Press the warning tone shutoff switch. If present, place the antibacterial odor filter in
the fan as illustrated on the filter packaging.
Note: After switching on the appliance, you must wait for 4-5 hours until the correct storage
temperature has been reached for an appliance filled normally.
FIRST-TIME USE
Clean the appliance occasionally with a cloth and a solution of hot
water and a neutral cleaning agent specifically intended for the
cleaning of refrigerator interiors. Do not use any abrasive items or
substances.
Using the tool provided (see Fig.), clean drain aperture in back panel
of refrigerator near the fruit and vegetable tray on a regular basis to
assure continuous and correct condensate draining.
Before maintenance and repair work, always disconnect the mains
plug on the appliance or isolate the mains power supply.
Caution: Refrigerator accessories must not be rinsed in the dishwasher.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING OF THE
APPLIANCE
If the product is equipped with LED lamps as shown,
contact the Technical Customer Service whenever these
need to be replaced.
LEDs last longer than conventional bulbs, improve
visibility inside the appliance and are environment-
friendly.
REPLACING LEDS

Disconnect the power supply from the appliance, empty it, if necessary defrost it, then clean it. Keep
the doors open slightly to enable air to flow in. This prevents the formation of mold and noxious odors.
WHENEVER THE APPLIANCE
IS NOT IN USE
Keep the doors closed to enable the food in the fridge to stay cold for as long as possible.
Never refreeze foodstuffs, even if only partially defrosted. In the event of an extended power cut, the
power failure alarm may also be triggered (on electronic models).
IN THE EVENT OF A POWER CUT
Fresh food and drink can be stored in the chiller compartment.
The chiller compartment defrosts automatically.
The occasional appearance on the internal back panel of the chiller compartment indicates that the
automatic defrost function is operating. The condensate (thaw water) automatically flows through a
drain aperture and into a receptacle in which it evaporates.
On certain models, the product can be equipped with a special ‘Zero Degree’ compartment suitable for
the storage of fresh meat and fish.
Note: Ambient temperature, frequency of door opening and installation location of the appliance are
all factors that can affect the interior temperature in both areas. Note these factors when setting the
temperature.
Note: Under very humid ambient conditions, condensate can form inside the chiller compartment,
especially on glass trays. In this case, it is advisable to cover receptacles containing fluids
(e.g. a pot containing consommé), and to wrap foods containing a high proportion of fluid (e.g.
vegetables).
Removal of the vegetable drawer
Pull the drawer out as far as possible, grip it and lift it out.
To simplify the task of filling the vegetable drawer, it may be easier to empty the two lower trays in the
(and to remove them), then to lift out the drawer.

Model with separate freezer compartment
Frozen food can be stored in the freezer compartment (for the length of time specified on the
packaging) and fresh food can be frozen. The quantity of foodstuffs that can be frozen within a 24 hour
period is indicated on the type plate. Place fresh food in the fast-freeze area of the freezer compartment
(see abridged instructions) and leave sufficient room around the packaging for air to circulate. Never
refreeze foodstuffs, even if only partially defrosted. The food must always be packaged in a way that
prevents the ingress of water, fluid or condensation.
Production of ice cubes
Fill the ice cube trays (if provided) to the 2/3rds point with water and place them in the freezer compar-
tment. Never use sharp or pointed tools to break off the ice.
Drawer removal (dependent on model)
Pull the drawer out as far as possible, lift it and remove it. To increase the storage capacity, you can also
use the freezer compartment without drawers.
Ensure that the door closes correctly after placing foodstuffs on the wire trays / shelves.
Models with an internal freezer compartment
Fresh food can also be frozen in the freezer compartment . The quantity of foodstuffs that can be
frozen within a 24 hour period is indicated on the type plate.
Freezing fresh food:
Place the food directly on the base of the freezer compartment
Place the food in the center of the compartment, avoiding contact with food that is already
frozen, maintaining a distance of about 20 mm on all sides.
FREEZER COMPARTMENT
(IF PRESENT)
On models with the No Frost feature, no further defrosting operations are required.
On other models, the formation of ice is a normal occurrence.
The quantity and speed of ice formation depends on ambient conditions, and on how frequently the
door is opened. It is advisable to reduce the temperature setting or, if present, to activate the fast-freeze
function (see abridged instructions) four hours prior to removal of the food from the freezer
compartment to extend the life of the food preserving agents during the defrosting process. Shut down
the appliance to defrost it, and remove the drawers. Place the frozen food items in a cool place. Leave
the door open to enable the unit to defrost, i.e. the ice to thaw. It is advisable to put absorbent cloths
on the floor of the freezer compartment and to wring them out at regular intervals to limit the spread
of thaw water.
Clean the interior of the freezer compartment and dry it carefully.
Switch the appliance back on and place the food items back in the appliance.
