Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
Zum Gerät
– Benutzen Sie das Batterie-Ladegerät nur für den vom Hersteller angegebenen
Verwendungszweck!
– Während des Ladevorganges können explosive Gase entstehen. Vermeiden
Sie daher unbedingt offenes Feuer, Funkenschlag oder offenes Licht während
des Betriebs des Ladegerätes (siehe B 1)!
–Verwenden Sie das Ladegerät nur in gut belüfteten Räumen, um das Ansammeln von
explosiven Gasen zu verhindern (siehe B 2)!
– Batterien enthalten aggressive Säuren. Vermeiden Sie daher den Kontakt mit der
Batterieflüssigkeit (siehe B 3) und schützen Sie Ihre Augen (Schutzbrille) sowie Ihre
Kleidung gegen eventuelle Säurespritzer. Sollte es dennoch zu einem Kontakt
kommen, so spülen Sie die betroffenen Körperstellen oder die Kleidung etc. mit viel
klarem Wasser ab. Bei Verletzungen der Augen etc. unbedingt einen Arzt aufsuchen.
–Versuchen Sie nie, eine gefrorene Batterie zu laden. Es besteht Explosionsgefahr!
Platzieren Sie die Batterie in diesem Fall an einem frostfreien Ort und warten Sie, bis
sich die Batterie der Umgebungstemperatur angepasst hat. Erst dann darf mit dem
Ladevorgang begonnen werden (siehe B 4).
– Betreiben Sie das Batterie-Ladegerät nur, wenn das Gehäuse und die Leitungen
unbeschädigt sind!
– Achten Sie auf einen sicheren Stand! Das Batterie-Ladegerät sowie die zu ladende
Batterie müssen so sicher aufgestellt werden, dass sie keinesfalls umstürzen oder
herabfallen können!
– Sichern Sie das Batterie-Ladegerät so, dass Kinder keinen Zugriff darauf haben! Es
können Gefahren entstehen, die von Kindern nicht erkannt werden können!
– Betreiben Sie das Batterie-Ladegerät nicht in feuchter oder nasser Umgebung!
– Die Wartung und Reparatur darf nur durch eine Fachkraft erfolgen, die mit den damit
verbundenen Gefahren bzw. einschlägigen Vorschriften vertraut ist (siehe B 5).
Verwendungszweck
Die Batterie-Ladegeräte eignen sich für Blei-Starterbatterien, Blei-Gel- und wartungsfreie
Batterien mit den unter „Technische Daten“ genannten Kapazitäten.
Die Ladegeräte dürfen keinesfalls zum Laden anderer Batterietypen (z.B. NiCd,
NiMH etc.) verwandt werden!

Bedienung, Laden von Batterien
Trennen der Batterie
Um eine mögliche Beschädigung der Fahrzeugelektronik zu vermeiden, wird
empfohlen, die Fahrzeugbatterie vor dem Laden vom Bordnetz zu trennen.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass beim Abklemmen der Batterie alle flüchtigen Speicher
der Komfortelektronik ihre gespeicherten Daten verlieren.
In diesem Fall müssen also u.U. die folgenden Daten neu eingegeben werden:
Radiocode – Fahrzeuguhr – Zeitschaltuhr – Bordcomputer – Sitzposition etc.
Vorbereitung der Batterie
(Nur Blei-Starterbatterien)
Schrauben Sie, soweit möglich, die Verschlusskappen von jeder Batteriezelle
und prüfen Sie den Stand der Batterieflüssigkeit.
VERMEIDEN SIE HIERBEI UNBEDINGT DEN KONTAKT MIT DER BATTERIEFLÜSSIGKEIT!
Unterschreitet die Flüssigkeit einer oder mehrerer Zellen den Mindeststand, so füllen Sie
bis zum Erreichen der Füllmarke destilliertes Wasser nach. Verwenden Sie keinesfalls
normales Leitungswasser. Lassen Sie die Zellen während des gesamten Ladevorganges
geöffnet, damit entstehende Gase entweichen können.
Anschluss des Ladegerätes
DAS GERÄT DARF ZUNÄCHST NICHT MIT DEM 230-V-NETZANSCHLUSS
VERBUNDEN SEIN!
Verbinden Sie die Anschlussklemmen wie folgt:
Verbinden Sie die rote Plusklemme des Ladegerätes mit dem Pluspol der Batterie
(Kennzeichnung +). Dieser Batteriepol ist im angeschlossenen Zustand nicht mit der
Karosserie verbunden (siehe C 1).
Verbinden Sie die schwarze Minusklemme des Ladegerätes mit dem Minuspol der
Batterie (Kennzeichnung –). Dieser Batteriepol ist im angeschlossenen Zustand mit der
Karosserie verbunden (siehe C 2).
Netzanschluss
Achten Sie beim Aufstellen des Ladegerätes auf einen sicheren Stand, so dass
es nicht umstürzen kann. Die Netzleitung sowie die Anschlussleitungen zur
Batterie dürfen keinesfalls unter Zugspannung, geknickt oder über scharfe
Kanten verlegt sein.
Stecken Sie nun den Netzstecker in eine geerdete und korrekt abgesicherte 230-V-
Netzsteckdose. Bei Unklarheiten ziehen Sie unbedingt einen Fachmann zu Rate.

Ladezustandsanzeigen
Ladezustandsanzeigen Modell MBC-600A
Das Modell MBC-600A besitzt zwei LEDs oben rechts auf der Frontseite des Gerätes. Die
obere grüne LED „Power On“ zeigt den Betrieb des Gerätes an. Bei korrekter Funktion
des Ladegerätes leuchtet diese LED auf, sobald der Netzstecker eingesteckt ist (siehe D 1).
Die untere rote LED „Full Auto Cut Off“ dient als „Batterie-Voll-Anzeige“. Diese LED
leuchtet nicht während des Ladevorganges, sondern erst bei Vollladung auf (siehe D 2).
Der MBC-600A eignet sich zur Dauerladung der Batterie. Nachdem die Batterie voll
geladen wurde, überwacht das Ladegerät die Spannung. Bei Unterschreitung der
Idealspannung in der Batterie lädt der MBC-600A die Batterie entsprechend nach,
wodurch der Ladezustand der Batterie immer optimal ist. Bitte beachten Sie, dass die
untere, rote LED während der Erhaltungsladung zeitweise erlischt.
Ladezustandsanzeigen und Amperemeter Modelle MBC-800A und MBC-1200A
Die Modelle MBC-800A und MBC-1200A besitzen jeweils ein Amperemeter
(Anzeigebereich 0–8 A), in welche zwei LEDs integriert sind (siehe D 3).
Die grüne LED „Full“ leuchtet bei Erreichen der Ladeendspannung und signalisiert eine
volle Batterie. Die rote LED „Reverse“ leuchtet auf, wenn die Batterieklemmen verpolt
angeschlossen wurden. Korrigieren Sie in diesem Fall den Anschluss.
Das Amperemeter zeigt den aktuellen Ladestrom an. Bitte beachten Sie, dass beim
Modell MBC-1200A der Ladestrom bis zu 12 A betragen kann. Da dies aber nur
kurzzeitig in Form von Spitzenströmen auftritt, reicht auch hier die Skalierung des
Amperemeters bis 8 A völlig aus.
Der Wippschalter rechts unten auf der Frontseite des Ladegerätes dient der Anpassung
des Ladestromes an verschiedene Batteriekapazitäten (siehe D 4). Kleine Batterien mit
einer Kapazität von 15 Ah bis 30 Ah sollten mit der Schalterstellung „2 A RMS“ geladen
werden.
Schutz vor Kurzschluss
Abklemmen
Um Kurzschlüsse (FUNKENBILDUNG !!!) beim Abklemmen des Ladegerätes zu
vermeiden, ziehen Sie nach Beendigung des Ladevorganges als Erstes den 230-V-
Netzstecker heraus. Kontrollieren Sie nochmals den Flüssigkeitsstand der Batteriezellen.
VERMEIDEN SIE AUCH JETZT UNBEDINGT DEN KONTAKT MIT DER
BATTERIEFLÜSSIGKEIT!
Unterschreitet die Flüssigkeit einer oder mehrerer Zellen den Mindeststand, so füllen Sie
bis zum Erreichen der Füllmarke destilliertes Wasser nach. Verwenden Sie keinesfalls
normales Leitungswasser. Schließen Sie evtl. geöffnete Verschlussstopfen der
Batteriezellen.
Wenn Sie die Batterie im Fahrzeug wieder anklemmen, so sollten Sie, um die Batteriepole
vor Korrosion zu schützen, diese mit etwas Polfett einschmieren.

Fehlerbeseitigung
Nach Anschluss und Inbetriebnahme des Ladegerätes steigt normalerweise die
Spannung in der Batterie. Ist das nicht der Fall, so überprüfen Sie, ob die Klemmen
einwandfreien Kontakt zu den Batteriepolen haben und reinigen diese gegebenenfalls.
Sollte nach einer Ladezeit von mehreren Stunden (ca. 20 Std., abhängig vom Modell des
Ladegerätes sowie von der Batteriekapazität) die Batterie nicht voll geladen sein, so liegt
vermutlich ein Defekt der Batterie vor.
In diesem Fall trennen Sie das Ladegerät vom Stromnetz, entfernen die Ladeklemmen
von der Batterie und warten einige Minuten. Messen Sie nun mit einem geeigneten
Multimeter die Spannung an den Batterieklemmen. Zeigt das Multimeter eine Spannung
von 10 V oder darunter an, so nimmt die Batterie keine Ladung mehr an. Die Batterie
sollte nun ggf. von einem Fachmann überprüft werden.
Entlädt sich die Batterie ohne Belastung bereits nach kurzer Zeit wieder, so liegt ebenfalls
ein Defekt vor. Auch jetzt sollte die Batterie ggf. von einem Fachmann überprüft werden.
Bei detaillierten Fragen zu den Batteriedaten wenden Sie sich bitte an den
Batteriehersteller.
Schützen Sie Ihre Umwelt! Defekte Batterien gehören nicht in den Hausmüll.
Geben Sie bitte Ihre verbrauchten oder defekten Batterien beim Händler oder
bei einer Sammelstelle ab.
Bitte bewahren Sie diese Anleitung auf und geben sie im Falle des Verkaufs zusammen
mit dem Gerät an den Käufer weiter.

General Safety Information
About the unit itself
– The battery charger is allowed to be used only for the purposes specified by
the manufacturer!
– Explosive gases can develop during the charging process. It is absolutely
necessary therefore to avoid open fire, sparks flying around or open light
during the operation of the battery charger (see B 1)!
– The battery charger should be used only in well ventilated rooms in order to avoid the
accumulation of explosive gases (see B 2)!
– Batteries contain aggressive acids. Therefore avoid all contact with the battery fluid
(see B 3) and protect your eyes (protective glasses) and your clothes against possibly
acid splashes. If you nevertheless come into contact with the fluid, then rinse the
affected parts of the body or clothing etc. with plenty cold water. Consult your doctor
with eye injuries etc.
– Never try to charge a frozen battery. There is the danger of explosion! In this case,
place the battery at a frost-resistant location and wait until the battery has adapted to
the ambient temperature. Only then may the charging process be started (see B 4).
– Never use the battery charger if housing or cables are damaged!
–Take care that there is a firm position! The battery charger as well as the battery to be
charged must be securely positioned so that they cannot fall over or fall down!
– Ensure that the battery charger is kept out of the reach of children! Dangers may arise
which children are not able to recognise!
– Never operate the battery charger in a damp or wet environment!
–Maintenance and repair must only be carried out by a qualified specialist, who is
familiar with the dangers involved and aware of the relevant regulations (see B 5)!
Applications
The battery chargers are suitable for sealed starter batteries, lead-acid starter batteries
and maintenance-free batteries with the capacities indicated under “Technical data“.
In no case may the battery chargers be used for charging other types of
batteries (e.g. NiCd, NiMH etc.).

Operating, charging of batteries
Disconnecting the batterie
To avoid possible damage to the vehicle electronics, it is recommendable to
disconnect the vehicle battery from the on-board supply before charging.
Please note with the disconnection of the battery that all volatile memories of
the convenience electronics will lose their stored data. In this case the following
data must therefore on occasions be entered again:
Radio-code · vehicle clock · time switch clock · onboard computer ·
seat position
Preparation of the battery
(only lead starter batteries)
Unscrew, as far as possible, the seal caps from each battery cell and check the
level of the battery fluid.
THE CONTACT WITH THE BATTERY FLUID MUST BE ABSOLUTELY AVOIDED!
If the fluid of one or several cells undercuts the minimum level, then refill the distilled
water up to the filling level. In no case may normal municipal water be used. Leave the
cells open during the entire charging process so that gases arising can escape.
Connection of the battery charger
THE UNIT MAY NOT BE CONNECTED FIRST OF ALL WITH THE 230 V
MAINS SUPPLY!
Connect the connecting poles as follows: Connect the red positive terminal of the battery
charger with the positive pole of the battery (marking +). This battery pole is not
connected with the car body in the connected status (see C 1). Connect the black
negative terminal of the battery charger with the negative pole of the battery (marking -).
This battery pole is connected with the car body in the connected status (see C 2).
Mains supply
Take care that the battery charger has a secure position so that it cannot fall
over. The line as well as the connecting lines to the battery may be laid in no
case under tensile strength, bent or over sharp edges.
Now insert the plug into an earthed and properly secured 230 V mains socket. With
uncertainties a specialist must be absolutely consulted.

Displays of charge status
Displays of charge status model MBC-600A
The model MBC-600A is equipped with two LEDs on the top-right front of the unit. The
upper green LED “Power On” indicates the operation of the unit. With correct functioning
of the battery charger, the LED illuminates as soon as the mains plug is inserted (see D 1).
The lower red LED “Full Auto Cut Off” serves as “battery-full display”. This LED does not
illuminate during the charging process, but only when fully charged (see D 2). The
MBC-600A is suitable for the trickle charge of the battery. After the battery has been fully
charged, the battery charger monitors the voltage. When the ideal voltage in the battery
is undercut, the MBC-600A respectively recharges the battery, whereby the charge status
of the battery remains always at optimal. Please observe that the lower red LED goes out
temporarily during the conservation charge.
Displays of charge status and amperemeter models MBC-800A and MBC-1200A
The models MBC-800A and MBC-1200A have each an amperemeter (displayrange 0–8
A), in which two LEDs are integrated (see D 3). The green LED “Full” lights up when the
final voltage of charging is reached, signalizing a full battery. The red LED “reverse” lights
up when the battery terminals were connected with wrong polarity. Correct the
connection in this case. The amperemeter indicates the current charging current. Please
note that the charging current can amount up to 12 A with the model MBC-1200A. Since
this takes place only temporarily in form of peak currents, the scaling of the ampere
meter up to 8 A is also here sufficient. The rocker switch on the bottom-right front of the
battery charger serves for the adaptation of the charge current to different battery
capacities (see D 4). Small batteries with a capacity of 15 Ah up to 30 Ah should be char-
ged with the switch position “2 A RMS”.
Safety features
Disconnecting
To avoid short-circuits (SPARKING !!!) when disconnecting the battery charger, first pull
out the 230 V mains plug after finishing the charging process. Check once again the fluid
level of the battery cells.
THE CONTACT WITH THE BATTERY FLUID MUST BE ABSOLUTELY AVOIDED !
If the fluid of one or several cells undercuts the minimum level, then refill the distilled
water up to the filling level. In no case may normal municipal water be used. Close
possibly opened locking plugs of the battery cells.
If you connect up the battery in the vehicle again, then you should grease this somewhat
with pole fat to protect the battery poles against corrosion.

Troubleshooting
After connection and starting-up of the battery charger, the voltage increases normally in
the battery. If this is not the case, check whether the terminals have perfect contact to
the battery poles and clean these if necessary.
If the battery should not be charged fully after a charging time of several hours (approx.
20 hrs. dependent upon the model of the battery charger as well as the battery capacity,
then there is possibly a defect of the battery. In this case, disconnect the battery charger
from the mains, remove the charging terminals from the battery and wait for some
minutes. Now measure the voltage at the battery terminals with a suitable multimeter. If
the multimeter indicates a voltage of 10 V or below, then the battery is not receiving any
charge. The battery should be checked then by a specialist.
If the battery discharges already after a short time without load, then there is also a
defect. The battery should be also then checked by a specialist. Please contact the
battery manufacturer if you have detailed questions about the battery data.
Protect your environment! Do not dispose of defective batteries in the
domestic waste. Please return the used or defective battery to the dealer or
dispose of it at an authorised waste collection point.
Please keep these operating instructions in a safe place and in the event of a sale pass
them on to the buyer together with the unit.

Indicaciones generales de seguridad
Respecto al aparato
– Emplee el cargador de batería exclusivamente para los fines indicados por el
fabricante.
– Durante el proceso de carga, pueden desprenderse gases explosivos. Por
ello, evite las hogueras, las chispas o las luces fuertes mientras esté
funcionando el cargador de batería (véase B 1).
– Utilice el cargador de batería únicamente en cuartos bien ventilados, para impedir la
acumulación de gases explosivos (véase B 2)!
– Las baterías contienen ácidos agresivos. Por ello, evite el contacto con el líquido de la
batería (véase B 3) y proteja sus ojos (gafas protectoras) y su vestimenta frente a
posibles salpicaduras de ácido. Si, a pesar de las precauciones, entrara en contacto
con él, enjuague las partes del cuerpo afectadas, la vestimenta, etc. con gran
cantidad de agua clara. Si sufriera lesiones en los ojos, acuda inmediatamente al
médico.
– No intente jamás cargar una batería congelada. Existe un riesgo de explosión. En ese
caso, coloque la batería en un lugar en el que no haya hielo y espere hasta que se
haya adaptado a la temperatura ambiente. Sólo entonces podrá iniciar el proceso de
carga (véase B 4).
– El cargador de batería sólo debe emplearse si la carcasa y los cables no están
dañados.
– Asegúrese de que está bien asentado. Tanto el cargador de batería como la propia
batería que se desea cargar, deben colocarse de forma segura para evitar que
vuelquen o se caigan.
– El cargador de batería debe asegurarse de forma que los niños no tengan acceso a
él. De lo contrario, pueden producirse peligros que los niños no son capaces de
reconocer.
– El cargador de batería no debe utilizarse en lugares húmedos ni mojados.
– Los trabajos de mantenimiento y reparación sólo debe llevarlos a cabo un técnico
especialista que tenga conocimiento de las normas pertinentes y haya sido informado
de los peligros que comporta el aparato (véase B 5).
Uso previsto
Los cargadores de batería son aptos para las baterías de arranque de plomo, las baterías
de gel de plomo y las baterías que no precisan mantenimiento que posean las
capacidades señaladas en los “Datos técnicos”.
Queda terminantemente prohibido utilizar los cargadores de batería para cargar
cualquier otro tipo de batería distinto de los mencionados (p. ej., NiCd, NiMH,
etc.).

Manejo, carga de baterías
Separación de la batería
Para evitar un posible daño del sistema eléctrico del vehículo, se recomienda
separar la batería del vehículo de la red de a bordo antes de proceder a su
carga.
Por favor, tenga en cuenta que, al desembornar la batería, se pierden todos los
datos guardados en las memorias volátiles del sistema electrónico Confort..
Por tanto, si se da ese caso, deberá volver a introducir de nuevo los siguientes
datos:
Código de radio · Reloj del vehículo · Reloj programador ·
Ordenador de a bordo · Posición del asiento, etc.
Preparación de la batería
(sólo para baterías de arranque de plomo)
Desenrosque tanto como pueda el tapón roscado de todas las celdas de la
batería y compruebe el nivel del líquido de la batería.
EVITE, AL HACERLO, TODO CONTACTO CON EL LÍQUIDO DE LA BATERÍA.
Si el líquido de una o varias celdas no llega al nivel mínimo, añada agua destilada hasta
alcanzar la marca de llenado. No utilice nunca agua normal del grifo para este fin. Deje
abiertas las celdas durante todo el proceso de carga para que puedan escapar los gases
que se desprendan.
Conexión del cargador de batería
EN PRINCIPIO, EL APARATO NO DEBE ESTAR CONECTADO A LA CONEXIÓN
A RED DE 230 V.
Conecte los bornes de conexión de la manera que se indica a continuación: Conecte el
borne positivo rojo del cargador de batería al polo positivo de la batería (marcado con el
signo +). Cuando la batería está conectada, este polo de la batería no está conectado a
la carrocería (véase C 1). Conecte el borne negativo negro del cargador de batería al polo
negativo de la batería (marcado con el signo –). Cuando la batería está conectada, este
polo de la batería no está conectado a la carrocería (véase C 2).
Conexión a red
Al instalar el cargador de batería, asegúrese de que quede en una posición
segura, de modo que no pueda volcar. La línea de alimentación y los cables de
conexión a la batería no deben estar sometidos bajo ninguna circunstancia a
tensiones de tracción, ni deben estar retorcidos o ser tendidos pasándolos por
bordes afilados.
Inserte ahora el enchufe de red en una toma de red de 230 V puesta a tierra y
correctamente protegida por fusibles. Si le surgiera alguna duda, consulte a un
especialista.

Indicadores del nivel de carga
Indicadores del nivel de carga del modelo MBC-600A
El modelo MBC-600A posee dos LED situados arriba a la derecha en la parte frontal del
aparato. El LED verde situado más arriba, “Power On” (“Encendido”) muestra el
funcionamiento del aparato. Si el cargador de batería funciona correctamente, este LED
se enciende nada más introducir el enchufe de red (véase D 1).
El LED rojo situado más abajo “Full Auto Cut Off” (Llena, corte automático) es el
“indicador de llenado total de la batería”. Este LED no permanece iluminado durante el
proceso de carga, sino que se enciende cuando la batería esté totalmente llena (véase D
2). El MBC-600A es apto para la carga permanente de la batería. Una vez que ésta se
haya cargado por completo, el cargador de batería vigila la tensión. Si no se alcanza la
tensión ideal en la batería, el MBC-600A la recarga hasta que se alcance, de modo que
el nivel de carga de la batería siempre es óptimo. Por favor, tenga en cuenta que el LED
rojo situado abajo se apaga de vez en cuando durante la carga de mantenimiento.
Indicadores del nivel de carga y amperímetros de los modelos MBC-800A y MBC-1200A
Los modelos MBC-800A y MBC-1200A poseen respectivamente un amperímetro (rango
de indicación 0–8 A) que lleva dos LED integrados (véase D 3). El LED verde “Full” (Lleno)
se enciende al alcanzarse la tensión final de carga e indica que la batería está llena. El
LED rojo “Reverse” (Invertir) se enciende si los bornes de la batería se han conectado en
los polos incorrectos. Si sucede esto, corríjalo conectando los bornes correctamente. El
amperímetro muestra la corriente de carga momentánea. Por favor, tenga en cuenta que
en el modelo MBC-1200A la corriente de carga puede alcanzar un valor de hasta 12 A.
Puesto que esto sólo sucede durante unos instantes a modo de puntas de corriente, la
escala del amperímetro de hasta 8 A también es suficiente en este caso. El conmutador
de tecla basculante situado en la parte frontal del cargador de batería, abajo a la
derecha, sirve para adaptar la corriente de carga a las distintas capacidades de las
baterías (véase D 4). Las baterías pequeñas cuya capacidad esté comprendida entre 15
Ah y 30 Ah se deben cargar con el conmutador colocado en la posición “2 A RMS”.
Protección contra cortocircuito
Desembornamiento
Para evitar cortocircuitos (FORMACIÓN DE CHISPAS) al desembornar el cargador de
batería, una vez concluido el proceso de carga, desenchufe en primer lugar el enchufe de
red de 230 V. Compruebe de nuevo el nivel de líquido de las celdas de la batería.
EVITE, AL HACERLO, TODO CONTACTO CON EL LÍQUIDO DE LA BATERÍA.
Si el líquido de una o varias celdas no llega al nivel mínimo, añada agua destilada hasta
alcanzar la marca de llenado. No utilice nunca agua normal del grifo para este fin. Si
fuera necesario, compruebe si hay tapones de cierre de las celdas de la batería que
estén abiertos.
Al volver a embornar la batería en el vehículo, debe proteger los polos de la misma
contra la oxidación; para ello, lubríquelos con algo de grasa para polos.
