1 Introduction and general instructions
Dear customer,
We are delighted about the confidence you have shown in our products.
It is very important to us that you enjoy using MEIKO products and that they are extremely
useful to you, making your work easier.
If you follow the instructions in this document carefully, your conveying system will always
work to your complete satisfaction and have a long service life.
After assembly at our factory, this conveying system was thoroughly inspected. This gives
both you and us the assurance that you will always receive a trouble-free product.
We would therefore like to ask you to read these operating instructions carefully
before use. Any further related operating instructions for accessories and integrated
third-party products must be strictly observed!
These operating instructions are designed to familiarise the owner/operator of this installa-
tion with its set-up, modes of operation, use, safety instructions and maintenance.
The notes help you get to know the installation in detail and use it correctly. They also
enable you to avoid possible repairs and the loss of operational time that comes with them.
In the event of any damage caused by non-observance of these operating instructions, any
guarantee claims are invalid. We accept no liability for any additional damage caused as a
result.
MEIKO operates a policy of continuous development on all of its devices.
As a result of this, please understand that we reserve the right to make changes to the
scope of supply concerning the design, equipment and technical features at any time.
No claims may therefore be based on the details, the images or the descriptions contained
in these operating instructions.
Should you require any further information, or in case any particular problems should arise
that are not dealt with in great detail in the operating instructions, you can contact the rele-
vant MEIKO branch to obtain the information you require.
Further, we draw your attention to the fact that the content of these instructions does not
form part of a former or existing agreement, promise or legal relationship and does not
modify such a point.
All of MEIKO's obligations arise from the relevant purchase contract, which also contains
the entire and only valid guarantee provisions.
The operating instructions must be available in the local language for each EU country. If
this is not the case, the conveying system must not be commissioned.
The original operating instructions in German and all operating instructions in all languages
for EU countries can be downloaded at the following address: https://partnernet.meiko.de
Full technical documentation is provided free of charge. Additional copies are available for
a nominal fee.
These contractually guaranteed provisions shall be neither extended nor restricted as a

3 General description and intended use
3.1 General description
Round-belt conveyors and used to return
dirty tableware.
The linear attachments of the round belts
leave almost the whole of the conveyor sur-
face available.
This method of returning dirty tableware is
especially preferential as it only allows the
return of trays. Individual items of tableware
(plates, cups, cutlery, bottles) cannot be
deposited and therefore cannot fall off the
conveyor later in the journey, e.g. on the
corners.
This means that tableware return functions as a high level.
Round-belt conveyor technology can conquer any possible type of corner.
Differentiated speeds and the necessary spacing carry the trays safely and securely
around the corner in the centre of the conveyor.
High, sturdy tray guides ensure that any tableware which is stacked tightly does not fall
off at the corners, as well as safely and securely steering the trays.
MEIKO vertical conveyors are the perfect solution for running vertical systems. The
MVF-G and MVF-P provide:
A continuous, fluid transition from horizontal to vertical movement
Excellent stability for items of tableware
The MEIKO infeed and outfeed system ensures gradual braking and smooth start up
even at high rates of throughput (up to 30 trays per minute).
3.2 Intended use
DANGER!
This conveying system is only intended to transport trays carrying tableware, no other use
is permitted.
This conveying system is solely intended for use in a work environment.
This conveying system is approved for loads of up to 5 kg/m unless a contrary agreement
has been reached.
Max. speed is 20 m/min.
The approved tray dimensions stated in the chapter on "Technical specifications" must be
adhered to, as must all other technical specifications without exception.
If you do not operate this round-belt conveyer system in line with its intended use, safe
operation of the machine cannot be guaranteed!
The operator, not the manufacturer, is responsible for any injury or material damage aris-
ing from improper use.

6 General safety instructions
6.1 Operator’s duty of care
CAUTION!
The round-belt conveyor has been constructed based on a risk analysis and after careful
selection of the applicable harmonised standards as well as additional technical specifica-
tions. It is therefore state-of-the-art and provides maximum safety.
However, safety can only be guaranteed during operation if all necessary measures are
taken. The operator of the machine has an obligation of care to ensure that these
measures are planned for and also to check that they are correctly implemented.
After installation, commissioning and handing over of the round-belt conveyor to the cus-
tomer/operator, no modifications may be made (e.g. electrical system or location). Modifi-
cations to the round-belt conveyor, and in particular technical modifications carried out
without the manufacturer’s written authorisation, or any modifications carried out by unau-
thorised persons, will lead to the complete loss of any guarantee claims and will invalidate
any liability for the product.
CAUTION!
The operator must ensure in particular that...
... the round-band conveyor is only used as intended.
In case of other use or operation, damage or risks may arise for which we accept no liability
(see the section on "intended use").
in order to guarantee functionality and safety, use only original parts supplied by the
manufacturer when needed.
Any potential claims by the user shall be rendered void if the device was altered using
parts other than original spare parts.
CAUTION!
... only appropriately qualified and authorised employees may use, maintain and repair the
installation.
CAUTION!
personnel is regularly trained in all questions relating to occupational safety and envi-
ronmental protection and, in particular, the staff is familiar with the operating instructions
as well as the safety instructions that they contain.
