Intended use
Your Black & Decker iron has been designed to
remove creases from fabrics using heat & steam
and is not to be used for any other purpose.
This product is intended for consumer use only.
Read this entire manual carefully
before using the appliance.

Warning! When using mains-powered
appliances, basic safety precautions, including
the following, should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, personal
injury and material damage.
The intended use is described in this manual.
The use of any accessory or attachment or the
performance of any operation with this
appliance other than those recommended in
this instruction manual may present a risk of
personal injury.

Using your appliance
Make sure that the temperature control dial is
set to the min before connecting to or
disconnecting from the power supply.
Always route the cord carefully to avoid a
tripping hazard.
Never operate an appliance directly below the
socket-outlet it is connected to.
Always take care when using the appliance.
Do not use the appliance outdoors.
Do not operate the appliance if your hands are
wet. Do not operate the appliance if you are
barefoot.
Guide the power supply cord neatly so it does
not hang over the edge of a worktop and
cannot be caught accidentally or tripped over.
Never pull the power supply cord to disconnect
the plug from the socket. Keep the power
supply cord away from heat, oil and sharp
edges.
If the power supply cord is damaged during
use, disconnect the appliance from the power
supply immediately. Do not touch the power
supply cord before disconnecting from the
power supply.
Disconnect the appliance from the power
supply when not in use and before cleaning.
Safety of others
This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
Do not allow children or any person unfamiliar
with these instructions to use the appliance.
Do not allow children or animals to come near
the work area or to touch the appliance or
power supply cord.
Close supervision is necessary when the
appliance is used near children.
After use
Switch off and remove the plug from the socket
before leaving the appliance unattended and
before changing, cleaning or inspecting any
parts of the appliance.

When not in use

Inspection and repairs
Before use, check the appliance for damaged
or defective parts. Check for breakage of parts,
damage to switches and any other conditions
that may affect its operation.
Do not use the appliance if any part is

Have any damaged or defective parts repaired
or replaced by an authorised repair agent.
Before use, check the power supply cord for
signs of damage, ageing and wear.
Do not use the appliance if the power supply
cord or mains plug is damaged or defective.
If the power supply cord or mains plug is
damaged or defective it must be repaired by
an authorised repair agent in order to avoid a
hazard. Do not cut the power supply cord and
do not attempt to repair it yourself.
Never attempt to remove or replace any parts
other than those specified in this manual.
Do not attempt to repair the appliance. Take it
to your nearest Black & Decker-owned or
authorised Service Centre for repair.
Electrical safety
This product must be earthed. Always
check that the power supply
corresponds to the voltage on the rating
plate.
Power plugs must match the outlet. Never
modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (Class 1)
appliances. Unmodified plugs and matching
outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
Extension cables & Class 1
product
A 3-core cable must be used as your appliance
is earthed and of Class 1 construction.
Up to 30m (100ft) can be used without loss of
power.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do
not immerse the cord, plug or appliance
in water or other liquid.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized
Black & Decker Service Center in order to
avoid a hazard.
Additional safety instructions for
irons
Always route the cord carefully to avoid a
tripping hazard.
Do not use the appliance near water.
Do not place the appliance near heat sources
or directly under cabinets. Do not use the
appliance in the presence of explosive or
flammable materials.
The filling aperture must not be opened during
use.
Steam may escape from the soleplate.
Surfaces may be hot during use and during the
cool down period.
Set the temperature control dial to the min
position before plugging in or out.
Let the appliance cool down before leaving it
unattended and before cleaning or inspecting
any parts of the appliance.
The power supply cord should not touch the
hot soleplate during use or during the cool
down period.
Do not touch the soleplate until it has cooled
down.

Wait until the appliance has cooled down
before emptying the water tank as the water
may still be hot.
Do not immerse the appliance, cored set or
plug in liquids
Always disconnect the appliance from the
supply before filling, emptying, cleaning, or
carrying out any maintenance on the appliance.
This product is designed to remove creases
from fabrics using heat & steam and is not to
be used for any other purpose.
The iron must not be left unattended while it is
connected to the supply mains
The plug must be removed from the socket-
outlet before the water reservoir is filled with
water.
The iron must be used and rested on a stable
surface.
The iron is not to be used if it has been
dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or
if it is leaking.
Before first use
Cleaning the soleplate
In order to be able to use the steam function, you
will first need to fill the water tank (10) with water.
Make sure that the appliance is unplugged.
Fill the appliance with water as described
below.
Use the self-clean system as described below.
When finished, disconnect the appliance from
the mains supply and allow the unit to fully cool
then wipe the soleplate (11) and steam vents
with a cloth.
Some parts of the appliance have been lightly
greased and as a result the appliance may smoke
slightly when switched on for the first time. This
will cease after a short while.
Assembly
Warning! Before assembly, make sure that the
appliance is switched off and unplugged.
Filling the water tank
In order to be able to use the steam function, you
will first need to fill the water tank (10) with water.
Make sure that the appliance is unplugged.
Open the water tank cover (12).
Hold the appliance at an angle.
Fill the appliance with water using the beaker
provided.
Close the water tank cover (12).
Warning! Never fill above the maximum filling
level indicted on the appliance. Normal tap water
can be used, but if you live in a hard water area
the use of distilled water is recommended.
Do not use chemically de-scaled water.
Use
Warning! Do not leave the appliance unattended
while it is connected to the power supply and
during the cool down period.
Temperature setting
The required temperature setting depends on the
garment fabric.
Adjust the temperature control dial (4) to the
required setting:
- Synthetics
- •• Silk/wool
- ••• Cotton/Linen
If you are unsure of the fiber content of a
garment: start with a low temperature setting and
test on a small area (seam or inside hem). If
wrinkles remain, gradually increase the heat
setting until you find the optimum setting.

Using as a dry iron
Stand the appliance on its heel rest (6).
Plug the appliance in and switch on.
Set the steam control (2) to the no steam
position.
Adjust the temperature control dial (4) to the
required setting.
The heating light (5) will switch off when the
appliance has reached the required temperature.
Using as a steam iron
Fill the water tank as described above.
Stand the appliance on its heel rest (6).
Adjust the temperature control dial (4) to the
required steam setting.
The heating light (5) will switch on. When the
heating light switches off, the iron will be ready for
use as a steam iron.
The heating light will regularly switch on and off
whilst ironing.
To create steam, set the steam control (2) to
the steam position.
Plug the appliance in and switch on.
Using the steam burst button
The steam burst feature can only be used whilst
ironing on a high temperature setting.
Make sure that there is water in the tank and
the temperature control dial (4) is set to the
steam position.
Lift the appliance and press the steam burst
button (3). You may need to press a few times
to activate the pump.
Using the spray button
The spray feature can be used at any
temperature setting when either steam or dry
ironing.
Make sure that there is water in the water tank.
Press the spray button (1) several times to
activate the pump while you are ironing.
Using the self-clean button
The self-clean function must be used before
using the appliance for the first time and then
regularly to remove scale..
Fill the water tank (10) to the maximum filling
level (9).
Set the temperature control dial (4) to the min
position.
Plug the appliance in and switch on.
Set the temperature control dial (4) to the max
position.
Allow the appliance to heat up until the heating
light (5) switches off and then on again.
Unplug the appliance and hold it horizontally
over an empty sink.
Press and hold the self-clean button (7).
Hot water and steam will come out of the vents.
Impurities and scale will be washed away.
Warning! Keep all parts of your body away from
the soleplate (11) when performing self clean. Do
not direct the steam at another person
Move the iron backwards and forwards while
whilst the self clean button (7) is pressed.
After 10 seconds release the self-clean button
(7).
Stand the appliance upright on its heel rest (6),
Disconnect from the mains supply and leave to
cool thoroughly.
Re-fill the water tank with water.
Plug the appliance in and switch on.
When the iron has returned to max
temperature iron an old cloth or towel to dry the
soleplate.
Hints for optimum use
Sort the articles to be ironed according to the
fabric.
Start ironing with the fabrics requiring the
lowest heat setting.

The appliance can be used as a
dry iron even if
there is water in the tank. Do not fill the tank
with water if the appliance is to be used as a
dry iron for an e
xtended period.
Avoid ironing over zippers, rivets on jeans etc.
as they will scratch the soleplate.
Cleaning and maintenance &
storage
Before cleaning and maintenance, remove the
plug from the socket and allow the appliance to
cool.
Warning! Before cleaning and maintenance,
switch the appliance off, remove the plug from the
socket and allow the appliance to cool.
Warning! Do not immerse the appliance, the cord
set or the plug in water or any other liquid.
Pour out any remaining water after each use.
Only empty the appliance when it is completely
cold.
Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
Wipe scale and other residues off the soleplate
with a damp cloth.
Do not use scouring pads.
If necessary, use a mild detergent to remove
spots.
Do not use any abrasive or solvent based
cleaner.
Do not immerse the appliance in water or any
other liquid.
After use, when the appliance is cold the power
cord can be wrapped around the cord storage
(8) area at the base of the unit.
Store your appliance in a cool dry area.

Uso previsto
Il ferro da stiro Black & Decker è stato progettato

Dopo l’impiego

Ispezione e riparazioni
Prima dell’impiego, controllare che

che potrebbero avere ripercussioni sulle
prestazioni.

Sicurezza elettrica
Questo prodotto deve essere collegato
a terra. Controllare sempre che
l’alimentazione corrisponda alla tensione
indicata sulla targhetta dei dati tecnici.
Le spine elettriche devono essere adatte alle
prese di corrente. Evitare assolutamente di
modificare la spina. Non usare adattatori con

Usare un cavo a 3 conduttori dato che si tratta
di un elettrodomestico classe 1 dotato di terra.
È possibile usare un cavo lungo 30 m senza
che si verifichi una perdita di potenza.
Per evitare il rischio di scosse elettriche,
non immergere il filo, la spina o
l’elettrodomestico in acqua o in liquidi di
alcun tipo.
In caso di danneggiamento del filo di
alimentazione, è necessario farlo riparare dal
fabbricante o presso un centro assistenza

eventuali pericoli.

Ulteriori precauzioni di sicurezza
per i ferri da stiro
Istradare sempre con attenzione il cavo di
alimentazione per evitare che causi
inciampamenti.
Non usare l’elettrodomestico vicino all’acqua.
Non appoggiare l’elettrodomestico vicino a fonti
di calore o direttamente sotto ad armadietti.
Non usare l’elettrodomestico in presenza di
materiali esplosivi o infiammabili.
La bocca di carica non deve essere aperta
durante l’impiego.
Il vapore potrebbe fuoriuscire dalla soletta.
Le superfici potrebbero essere calde durante
l’uso e durante il periodo di raffreddamento.
Prima di collegare o scollegare la spina,
regolare la manopola della temperatura sulla
regolazione minima.
Lasciare che l’elettrodomestico si raffreddi
prima di lasciarlo incustodito e prima di pulirlo
o di ispezionare i componenti.
Il filo di alimentazione non deve venire a
contatto della soletta calda durante l’impiego
o il periodo di raffreddamento.
Non toccare la soletta fino a quando non si
è raffreddata.
Attendere fino a quando l’elettrodomestico si

Scollegare sempre l’elettrodomestico dalla

Il ferro da stiro non deve essere lasciato
incustodito quando è collegato
all’alimentazione elettrica
La spina deve essere scollegata dalla presa
di corrente prima di riempire il serbatoio con
acqua.
Il ferro da stiro deve essere usato e appoggiato
su di una superficie piana e solida.
Il ferro da stiro non deve essere usato se è
stato fatto cadere, se vi sono segni visibili di
danni oppure se perde.
Prima dell’uso iniziale
Pulitura della soletta
Per poter usare la funzione vapore o quella del
getto di vapore, sarà necessario rifornire d’acqua
il serbatoio (10).
Accertarsi che l’elettrodomestico sia scollegato
dalla presa di corrente.
Rifornire l’elettrodomestico con acqua come
descritto di seguito.
Usare il sistema di autopulitura come descritto
di seguito. Dopo l’uso, scollegare
l’elettrodomestico dall’alimentazione elettrica
e lasciare che si raffreddi completamente prima
di pulire la soletta (11) e i fori del vapore con
un panno.
Alcune parti dell’elettrodomestico sono state
leggermente ingrassate e, di conseguenza,
l’elettrodomestico potrebbe emettere un po’
di fumo quando viene acceso per la prima volta.
Questa emissione di fumo cessa dopo un breve
periodo.
Montaggio
Attenzione! Prima di montarlo, assicurarsi che
l’elettrodomestico sia spento e scollegato dalla
presa di corrente.

Rifornimento del serbatoio con acqua
Per poter usare la funzione vapore o quella del
getto di vapore, sarà necessario rifornire d’acqua
il serbatoio (10).
Accertarsi che l’elettrodomestico sia scollegato
dalla presa di corrente.
Aprire il tappo del serbatoio dell’acqua (12).
Inclinare l’elettrodomestico.
Rifornire d’acqua l’elettrodomestico usando il
bicchiere fornito.
Chiudere il tappo del serbatoio dell’acqua (12).
Attenzione! Non rifornire mai oltre l’indice di
massimo indicato sull’elettrodomestico.
È possibile usare acqua di rubinetto, ma in
zone con acqua dura, si consiglia di usare
acqua distillata.
Non usare acqua demineralizzata chimicamente.
Utilizzo
Attenzione! Non lasciare incustodito
l’elettrodomestico quando è collegato alla presa
di corrente e durante il periodo di raffreddamento.
Regolazione temperatura
La temperatura necessaria dipende dal tipo di
tessuto.
Regolare la manopola della temperatura (4)
sulla regolazione desiderata:
- Sintetici
- •• Seta/lana
- ••• Cotone/lino
Se non si è sicuri della composizione di un
tessuto: iniziare a bassa temperatura e fare una
prova su di un angolo (cucitura od orlo interno).
Se rimangono delle grinze, aumentare la
regolazione fino a quando si trova quella ottimale.
Utilizzo come ferro a secco
Appoggiare l’elettrodomestico sul tallone
di appoggio (6).
Collegare l’elettrodomestico alla presa di
corrente e accenderlo.
Regolare il regolatore del getto di vapore
(2) sulla posizione senza vapore.
Regolare la manopola della temperatura
(4) sulla regolazione desiderata.
La spia della temperatura (5) si spegne quando
l’elettrodomestico ha raggiunto la temperatura
richiesta.
Utilizzo come ferro a vapore
Rifornire il serbatoio dell’acqua come descritto
in precedenza.
Appoggiare l’elettrodomestico sul tallone di
appoggio (6).
Regolare la manopola della temperatura
(4) sulla regolazione del vapore desiderata.
La spia della temperatura (5) si accende. Quando
la spia della temperatura si spegne, il ferro è
pronto all’uso come ferro a vapore.
La spia della temperatura si accende e si spegne
regolarmente durante la stiratura.
Per creare vapore, regolare il regolatore del
getto di vapore (2) sulla posizione del vapore.
Collegare l’elettrodomestico alla presa di
corrente e accenderlo.
Utilizzo del pulsante del getto di
vapore
La funzione del getto di vapore può essere usata
solo durante la stiratura a temperatura elevata.
Accertarsi che vi sia acqua nel serbatoio e che
la manopola della temperatura (4) sia regolata
sulla posizione del vapore.
Sollevare l’elettrodomestico e premere il
pulsante del getto di vapore (3). Può essere
necessario premere il pulsante varie volte per
attivare la pompa.

Utilizzo del pulsante vaporizzatore
La funzione del getto di vapore può essere usata
con qualsiasi regolazione della temperatura sia
quando si stira a secco sia a vapore.
Accertarsi che nel serbatoio vi sia dell’acqua.
Premere varie volte il pulsante vaporizzatore
(1) per attivare la pompa mentre si sta stirando.
Utilizzo del pulsante di autopulitura
La funzione di autopulitura deve essere usata
prima dell’impiego iniziale dell’elettrodomestico
e quindi regolarmente per eliminare il calcare.
Rifornire il serbatoio dell’acqua (10) fino al
livello massimo (9).
Regolare la manopola della temperatura
(4) sulla regolazione minima.
Collegare l’elettrodomestico alla presa di
corrente e accenderlo.
Regolare la manopola della temperatura
(4) sulla regolazione massima.
Lasciare riscaldare l’elettrodomestico fino
a quando la spia della temperatura (5) si
spegne e quindi si riaccende.
Scollegare l’elettrodomestico dalla presa di
corrente e tenerlo orizzontalmente sopra un
lavandino vuoto.
Tenere premuto il pulsante di autopulitura (7).
Acqua calda e vapore usciranno dagli appositi
fori. Impurità e calcare verranno lavati via.
Attenzione! Mantenere ogni parte del corpo
lontana dalla soletta (11) durante la sequenza di
autopulitura. Non puntare il getto di vapore verso
un’altra persona
Spostare il ferro avanti e indietro mentre si
preme il pulsante di autopulitura (7).
Dopo 10 secondi rilasciare il pulsante di
autopulitura (7).
Appoggiare l’elettrodomestico verticalmente
sul tallone di appoggio (6). Scollegarlo
dall’alimentazione elettrica e lasciare che si
raffreddi completamente.
Riempire di nuovo il serbatoio con acqua.
Collegare l’elettrodomestico alla presa di
corrente e accenderlo.
Quando il ferro da stiro raggiunge di nuovo
la massima temperatura, stirare un panno
vecchio o un asciugamano per asciugare
la soletta.

Dividere i capi da stirare in base al tessuto.

Χρήση της συσκευής σας

Πριν την πρώτη χρήση
Καθαρισμός της πλάκας
Για να μπορείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε τη
λειτουργία ατμού ή τη δυνατότητα ψεκασμού,
πρέπει πρώτα να γεμίσετε με νερό τη δεξαμενή
νερού (10).
Βεβαιωθείτε ότι η συσκευή είναι
αποσυνδεδεμένη από την πρίζα.
Γεμίστε τη συσκευή με νερό όπως
