IMPORTANTI INDICAZIONI INERENTI LA SICUREZZA

Ø Leggere attentamente il presente Manuale di istruzioni.

Ø Prima di utilizzare l'apparecchio, controllare che la tensione di alimentazione corrisponda al voltaggio indicato sulla targhetta di

identificazione.

Ø Non accendere l'apparecchio qualora appaia difettoso od evidenzi un cavo od una spina danneggiati. Non cer care di ripararlo.

Per le riparazioni o per richiedere gli accessori, rivolgersi presso i centri di assistenza tecnica (sulle pagine bianche alla voce

"Electrolux Assistenza tecnica" oppure sulle pagine gialle alla voce "Elettrodomestici Riparazioni e accessori" sotto "Zanussi

Servizio Tecnico").

Ø Estrarre sempre la spina dalla presa quando l'aspirapolvere non è in uso e prima di eseguire le operazioni di pulizia e di manu-

tenzione.

Ø Non lasciare mai incustodito l'apparecchio quando è in funzione. Tenerlo lontano dalla portata dei bambini.

Ø Questo apparecchio è destinato esclusivamente all'uso domestico e deve essere utilizzato in conformita alla descrizione fornita

nel presente Manuale di istruzioni.

Ø Non tirare il cavo dell'apparecchio. Non staccare la spina tirando il cavo. Non usi il pulitore con un cavo danneggiato. Se questo è

il caso, il cavo dovrebbe essere sostituito ad un centro di servizio. Ciò non è coperta dalla garanzia.

Ø Non utilizzare l'aspirapolvere sulle superfici bagnate o per aspirare liquidi, fango, cenere e mozziconi di sigaretta accesi. Non

aspirare sostanze o gas altamente infiammabili od esplosivi.

Questi materiali possono danneggiare serio il motore - danni che non sono coperti dalla garanzia.

Ø Non disinserire la spina dell'apparecchio con le mani bagnate.

Ø Non utilizzare l'aspirapolvere nelle immediate vicinanze di caloriferi, stufe ed altri oggetti che generano calore.

Ø Prima di iniziare ad utilizzare l'aspirapolvere, spostare gli oggetti di grandi dimensioni od acuminati, al fine di evitare eventuali

danni al tessuto di cui è costituito il sacchetto polvere.

ISTRUZIONI PER L'USO

Ø Prima di mettere in esercizio l'apparecchio, assicurarsi che i filtri si trovino nella posizione giusta.

Ø Prima di utilizzare l'aspirapolvere, svolgere il cavo in modo che presenti una lunghezza sufficiente ed inserire la spina nella presa.

Un segno GIALLO posto sul cavo indica la lunghezza ideale. Non tendere il cavo oltre il segno ROSSO.

Ø Per accendere l'apparecchio premere il tasto ON/OFF. Si consiglia di impostare il controllo della corrente al MIN. prima di com-

piere tale operazione.

Ø Per riavvolgere il cavo, azionare con il piede l'apposito tasto e guidare il cavo con la mano per assicurarsi che non si avvolga

troppo velocemente causando eventuali danni.

Ø La potenza assorbita puo essere regolata spostando l'apposito tasto di comando.

MANUTENZIONE

COME SVUOTARE IL CONTENITORE DELLA POLVERE

Utilizzare sempre l’aspirapolvere con il contenitore inserito

Il contenitore deve essere svuotato quanto e visibilmente pieno.

Ø Rimuovere il contenitore premendo il pulsante posto alla fine della maniglia (fig.17).

Ø Rimuovere il filtro dal contenitore (fig. 18).

Ø Rimuovere la polvere dal contenitore (fig.19).

Ø Inserire il filtro nel contenitore (fig.18).

Ø Inserire il contenitore nell’aspirapolvere premendo fino al click (fig.17).

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Read this instruction booklet carefully.

Before using the appliance, check that the mains power voltage corresponds to the voltage shown on the rating plate.

Do not switch the appliance on if it appears to be faulty in any way.

Do not try to repair the appliance by yourself. For repairs or accessories, contact your customer service.

Always remove the plug from the power socket when the appliance is not in use and before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operations.

Never leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on. Keep the appliance out of reach of children.

This appliance is for domestic use only. Use as described in this instruction booklet.

Do not pull the appliance by the cord. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. Do not use the cleaner with a damaged cable. If the cable is damaged, it

should be replaced at a service center. This is not covered by the warranty.

Do not use appliance on wet surfaces or to vacuum liquids, mud, ash and burning cigarette butts. Do not vacuum up any highly flammable or explosive

substances or gases. Do not vacuum fine dust from plaster, concrete, flour or ash. The above can cause serious damage to the motor – damage

which is not covered by the warranty.

Do not unplug the vacuum cleaner with wet hands.

Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close to heaters and radiators, stoves etc.

Before you start using the vacuum cleaner, please remove large or sharp objects from the floor to prevent damage to the dust bin and hose.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Before placing into operation make certain that the filters and the dustbin are in the proper position.

Unwind a sufficient length of cable and insert the plug into the power socket. A YELLOW mark on the power cable shows the ideal cable length. Do not

extend the cable beyond the RED mark.

Press the ON/OFF button to switch the appliance on. On initial start up full power is reached after approximately 1-2 seconds.

To rewind the power cable, press the rewind button with foot, and guide the cable with hand to ensure that it does not whip causing damage.

Rotate suction control knob clockwise to increase suction and anticlockwise to reduce suction.

MAINTENANCE

REMOVING THE CONTENTS OF THE DUSTBIN

Always operate the cleaner with the dustbin installed.

The dustbin must be emptied when visibly full.

Remove the dustbin by pushing the button at the end of the carrying handle (fig. 17) .

Remove the dustbin filter from the dustbin. (fig. 18) .

Remove the dust from the dustbin (fig. 19).

Insert the dustbin filter back into the dustbin. (fig. 18).

Ø Insert the dustbin back into the cleaner by pushing it until it clicks.

CLEANING THE FILTERS

Menalux branded filters are strongly recommended by Progress. Those high quality filters will ensure a long lifetime of your Progress vacuum cleaner.

If suction appears to be reduced when cleaning, please check filters as this is an indication that they require cleaning.

The dustbin filter must be cleaned when causing reduced suction.

Filters should be replaced at least twice a year.

Always operate the cleaner with filters installed to avoid reduced suction.

Disconnect from electrical outlet before changing the filters.

Cleaning the dustbin filter

Remove the dustbin by pushing the button at the end of the carrying handle (fig. 17).

If filter is lightly soiled, remove the dirt by tapping the filter into a bin, if heavily soiled, tap the filter and then rinse under tap water (fig.20).

Let the filter dry. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme drying circumstances (hair-dryer, etc.) (fig. 21).

Insert the dustbin filter back into the dustbin (fig. 18).

Insert the dustbin back into the cleaner by pushing it until it clicks (fig. 17).

Cleaning the motor filter

Remove the dustbin by pushing the button at the end of the carrying handle (fig. 22).

If filter is lightly soiled, remove the dirt by tapping the filter into a bin, if heavily soiled, tap the filter and then rinse under tap water (fig.24).

Let the filter dry. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme drying circumstances (hair-dryer, etc.) (fig. 21).

Put the filter back into its place (fig. 23).

Insert the dustbin back into the cleaner by pushing it until it clicks (fig. 22).

Cleaning the exhaust filter

Open the exhaust filter cover (fig. 25).

Remove the filter from its place (fig. 26).

If filter is lightly soiled, remove the dirt by tapping the filter into a bin, if heavily soiled, tap the filter and then rinse under tap water (fig.24).

Let the filter dry. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme drying circumstances (hair-dryer, etc.) (fig. 21).

Put the filter back into its place (fig. 26).

Close the filter cover (fig. 25).

- Menalux Motor Filter: D24.

- Menalux Exhaust Filter : D09.

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

Attempt to recycle packaging material and old appliances.

The cardboard packaging can be placed in the waste paper collection.

Deposit the polystyrene foam at the PS collection point for recycling.

Recycling the Appliance at the end of its life

The plastic components all carry a material identification marking so that, like the other materials, they can recycled at the end of the life of the appli-

ance.

Please inquire with your local authority.

Blocked air flow and dirty filters

The cleaner stops automatically if a blockage occurs in the nozzle/tube/hose or if the filters are blocked with dirt.

Ø Disconnect from mains and allow the cleaner to cool for 20-30 minutes. Remove blockage and/or clean filters.

Restart the cleaner.

The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over

to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help pre-

vent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, whic could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this

product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the

shop where you purchased the product.
