IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Ø
Read this instruction booklet carefully.
Ø
Before using the appliance, check that the mains power voltage corresponds to the voltage shown on the rating plate.
Ø
Do not switch the appliance on if it appears to be faulty in any way.
Ø
Do not try to repair the appliance by yourself. For repairs or accessories, contact your customer service.
Ø
Always remove the plug from the power socket when the appliance is not in use and before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operations.
Ø
Never leave the appliance unattended when it is switched on. Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
Ø
This appliance is for domestic use only. Use as described in this instruction booklet.
Ø
Do not pull the appliance by the cord. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. Do not use the cleaner with a damaged cable. If the cable is damaged, it
should be replaced at a service center. This is not covered by the warranty.
Ø
Do not use appliance on wet surfaces or to vacuum liquids, mud, ash and burning cigarette butts. Do not vacuum up any highly flammable or explosive
substances or gases. Do not vacuum fine dust from plaster, concrete, flour or ash. The above can cause serious damage to the motor – damage
which is not covered by the warranty.
Ø
Do not unplug the vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
Ø
Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close to heaters and radiators, stoves etc.
Ø
Before you start using the vacuum cleaner, please remove large or sharp objects from the floor to prevent damage to the dust bin and hose.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Ø
Before placing into operation make certain that the filters and the dustbin are in the proper position.
Ø
Unwind a sufficient length of cable and insert the plug into the power socket. A YELLOW mark on the power cable shows the ideal cable length. Do not
extend the cable beyond the RED mark.
Ø
Press the ON/OFF button to switch the appliance on. On initial start up full power is reached after approximately 1-2 seconds.
Ø
To rewind the power cable, press the rewind button with foot, and guide the cable with hand to ensure that it does not whip causing damage.
Ø
Rotate suction control knob clockwise to increase suction and anticlockwise to reduce suction.
MAINTENANCE
REMOVING THE CONTENTS OF THE DUSTBIN
Always operate the cleaner with the dustbin installed.
The dustbin must be emptied when visibly full.
Ø
Remove the dustbin by pushing the button at the end of the carrying handle (fig. 17) .
Ø
Remove the dustbin filter from the dustbin. (fig. 18) .
Ø
Remove the dust from the dustbin (fig. 19).
Ø
Insert the dustbin filter back into the dustbin. (fig. 18).
Ø Insert the dustbin back into the cleaner by pushing it until it clicks.

CLEANING THE FILTERS
Menalux branded filters are strongly recommended by Progress. Those high quality filters will ensure a long lifetime of your Progress vacuum cleaner.

If suction appears to be reduced when cleaning, please check filters as this is an indication that they require cleaning.
The dustbin filter must be cleaned when causing reduced suction.
Filters should be replaced at least twice a year.
Always operate the cleaner with filters installed to avoid reduced suction.
Disconnect from electrical outlet before changing the filters.
Cleaning the dustbin filter
Ø
Remove the dustbin by pushing the button at the end of the carrying handle (fig. 17).
Ø
If filter is lightly soiled, remove the dirt by tapping the filter into a bin, if heavily soiled, tap the filter and then rinse under tap water (fig.20).
Ø
Let the filter dry. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme drying circumstances (hair-dryer, etc.) (fig. 21).
Ø
Insert the dustbin filter back into the dustbin (fig. 18).
Ø
Insert the dustbin back into the cleaner by pushing it until it clicks (fig. 17).

Cleaning the motor filter
Ø
Remove the dustbin by pushing the button at the end of the carrying handle (fig. 22).
Ø
If filter is lightly soiled, remove the dirt by tapping the filter into a bin, if heavily soiled, tap the filter and then rinse under tap water (fig.24).
Ø
Let the filter dry. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme drying circumstances (hair-dryer, etc.) (fig. 21).
Ø
Put the filter back into its place (fig. 23).
Ø
Insert the dustbin back into the cleaner by pushing it until it clicks (fig. 22).
Cleaning the exhaust filter
Ø
Open the exhaust filter cover (fig. 25).
Ø
Remove the filter from its place (fig. 26).
Ø
If filter is lightly soiled, remove the dirt by tapping the filter into a bin, if heavily soiled, tap the filter and then rinse under tap water (fig.24).
Ø
Let the filter dry. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme drying circumstances (hair-dryer, etc.) (fig. 21).
Ø
Put the filter back into its place (fig. 26).
Ø
Close the filter cover (fig. 25).

PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Ø
Attempt to recycle packaging material and old appliances.
Ø
The cardboard packaging can be placed in the waste paper collection.
Ø
Deposit the polystyrene foam at the PS collection point for recycling.
Recycling the Appliance at the end of its life
Ø
The plastic components all carry a material identification marking so that, like the other materials, they can recycled at the end of the life of the appli-
ance.
Ø
Please inquire with your local authority.
Blocked air flow and dirty filters
Ø
The cleaner stops automatically if a blockage occurs in the nozzle/tube/hose or if the filters are blocked with dirt.
Ø Disconnect from mains and allow the cleaner to cool for 20-30 minutes. Remove blockage and/or clean filters.
Ø
Restart the cleaner.
The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over
to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help pre-
vent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, whic could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this
