Overview
Intended Use
Sense-3 (IMAGE 1) is a radio secure temperature and humidity sensor, working on the
868 MHz ISM band.
Any installation or usage which does not conform to tiko Energy Solutions AG setup is
strictly forbidden. tiko Energy Solutions AG is not responsible for any improper installa-
tion/usage of this device.

• exchanges encrypted data with the M-Box on the 868 MHz ISM band every five
minutes

Package Content
Open the package and check that you have all the following items:

If any of the parts are incorrect, missing, or damaged, please contact the retailer where
you made your purchase. Keep the carton box, including the original packing materials, in

Device
IMAGE 1, IMAGE 2 and IMAGE 4 show the device from various sides. On the display
side, the unique serial/MAC address is displayed as text and QR code. If the device is
opened, on the inside labels is indicated:
• The manufacturer
• The device model number (REF) and the current rating
• The unique serial/MAC address as text and as Aztec 2D code (SN/MAC)
Installation
Installing the Sense-3
Step 1
Open the battery compartment by holding the bottom half (the one hav-
ing the LCD display) and by unscrewing the top part, rotation counter-
clockwise (IMAGE 6).
Step 2
Insert two AAA batteries the indicated way (IMAGE 7).
Step 3
Close the battery compartment by holding the bottom half and screw-
ing the top part, rotation clockwise (IMAGE 6).
Step 4
The LCD display shall show current temperature and humidity.
Step 5
The device is designed to be laid down on the user interface. This way,
the device can be placed at a height of approx. 1 - 1.5 meters, e.g., on a
bookshelf, without attracting attention.
Depending on the kit, a wall mount is included. Install this if, for exam-
ple, there is no shelf in a corridor to place the device on.
In this case, remove the protective film of the Velcro tape or Nano Tape
and press the wall holder onto the desired location.
Note: The adhesive on the Velcro tape needs 24 hours to reach its full
load-bearing capacity. The Nano Tape does not need curing time, but
the adhesive strength depends on the contact pressure.
Step 6
To finalize the installation, all tiko devices must be configured using the
installation app.

Operation
Device Operation
IMAGE 5 shows the LCD display. On the top (A) is displayed the temperature, on the
bottom (B) the relative air humidity. On the bottom at (C), the signal strength is indicated.
When the remaining capacity of the battery reaches 10%, the battery icon (D) will appear.
Sense-3 autonomously performs and transmits each 5 minutes a new measure. Before
transmitting, the device performs a CCA (Clear Channel Assessment) and expects an an-
swer from his counterpart (M-Box), in order to ensure that the information has been
properly delivered. The LED above the display blinks green for each successful transmis-
sion and red for each failed one.
If the device is not able to communicate with the M-Box for 30 minutes, then the tem-
perature and humidity information will be removed from the LCD. It is possible to show
the information again and to trigger another transmission by pressing any of the two but-
tons.
Uninstalling
Step 1
If the device remains property of tiko Energy Solutions AG or
its authorized reseller, it must be returned. Otherwise, the
ultimate disposal of a device shall be handled according to
national laws and regulations.

Übersicht
Verwendungszweck
Sense-3 (BILD 1) ist ein Temperatur- und Feuchtigkeitssensor mit sicherer Übertragung
auf dem 868 MHz-ISM-Band.
Jegliche Installation oder Verwendung, welche nicht den Richtlinien von tiko Energy Solu-
tions AG entspricht, ist strikte verboten. tiko Energy Solutions AG ist nicht verantwortlich
für unsachgemässe(n) Installationen oder Gebrauch dieses Geräts.

Gerät
BILD 1, BILD 2 und BILD 4 zeigen das Gerät von verschiedenen Seiten. Seitlich der An-
zeige befindet sich die eindeutige Seriennummer (MAC-Adresse) als Klartext und QR-
Code. Wird das Gerät geöffnet, befinden sich im Innern zwei Etiketten mit folgenden
Informationen:
• Hersteller
• Geräte-Modellnummer (REF) und Betriebsleistung
• Eindeutige Seriennummer (MAC-Adresse) als Text und Aztec-Code (SN/MAC)
Installation
Installieren des Sense-3
Schritt 1
Öffnen Sie das Batteriegehäuse, indem Sie die untere Hälfte festhalten
(die Hälfte mit der LCD-Anzeige) und die obere Hälfte im Gegenurzei-
gersinn drehen (BILD 6).
Schritt 2
Legen Sie zwei AAA-Batterien ein wie angegeben (BILD 7).
Schritt 3
Verschliessen Sie das Batteriegehäuse, indem Sie die untere Hälfte fest-
halten und die obere Hälfte im Uhrzeigersinn drehen (BILD 6).
Schritt 4
Die LCD-Anzeige beinhaltet jetzt die aktuelle Temperatur und Luft-
feuchtigkeit.
Schritt 5
Das Gerät ist konzipiert, um auf die Benutzeroberfläche hingelegt zu
werden. Auf diese Weise kann das Gerät auf ca. 1 - 1.5 Metern Höhe
platziert werden, z.B. auf einem Bücherregal, ohne aufzufallen.
Je nach Kit wird ein Wandhalter mitgeliefert. Installieren Sie diesen,
wenn es beispielsweise in einem Korridor keine Ablage gibt, um das Ge-
rät hinzulegen.
Entfernen Sie in diesem Fall die Schutzfolie des Klettbandes oder des
Nano Tapes und pressen Sie den Wandhalter an die gewünschte Stelle.
Achtung: Der Klebstoff auf dem Klettband benötigt 24h zum Erreichen
der vollen Tragkraft. Das Nano Tape benötigt keine Aushärtungszeit,
aber die Haftkraft hängt vom Anpressdruck ab.
Schritt 6
Um die Installation abzuschliessen, müssen alle tiko-Geräte mittels der
Installations-App konfiguriert werden.

Betrieb des Geräts
BILD 5 zeigt die LCD-Anzeige. Oben befindet sich die Temperatur (A), darunter die rela-
tive Luftfeuchtigkeit (B). Unten wird die Signalstärke (C) angezeigt. Wenn die verblei-
bende Batterieladung 10% unterschreitet, erscheint ein Batterie-Symbol (D).
Sense-3 führt eigenständig alle 5 Minuten eine neue Messung durch und überträgt die
Werte. Vor der Übertragung führt das Gerät ein CCA (Clear Channel Assessment) durch
und erwartet eine Antwort von seinem Gegenüber (M-Box), um die vollständige Übertra-
gung der Information sicherzustellen. Nach jeder erfolgreichen Übertragung blinkt das
LED oberhalb der Anzeige grün, ansonsten rot.
Ist es für das Gerät während 30 Minuten nicht möglich eine Übertragung durchzuführen,
verschwinden die Anzeigen von Temperatur und Feuchtigkeit vom Display. Die Informa-
tionen können wieder aufgerufen werden, indem durch Betätigen einer der beiden Tas-
ten eine erneute Übertragung ausgelöst wird.
Deinstallation
Schritt 1
Bleibt das Gerät Eigentum der tiko Energy Solutions AG oder
des autorisierten Händlers, muss es zurückgegeben werden.
Andernfalls muss die endgültige Entsorgung eines Gerätes in
Übereinstimmung mit den nationalen Gesetzen und Vor-
schriften erfolgen.

Sense-3 (IMAGE 1) est un capteur de température et d’humidité sécurisé par radio,
fonctionnant sur la bande ISM à 868 MHz.
Toute installation ou utilisation non conforme à la configuration de tiko Energy Solutions
AG est strictement interdite. tiko Energy Solutions AG n’est pas responsable de l’installa-
tion ou de l’utilisation inappropriées de cet appareil.

Appareil
Les IMAGE 1, IMAGE 2 et IMAGE 4 montrent l’appareil de différents côtés. Du côté de
l’affichage, l’adresse série / MAC unique est affichée sous forme de texte et de code QR.
Si l’appareil est ouvert, les étiquettes intérieures indiquent :
• Le fabricant
• Le numéro de modèle de l’appareil (REF) et le courant nominal
• L’adresse série / MAC unique sous forme de texte et de code 2D Aztec
(SN/MAC)
Installation
Installer le Sense-3
Étape 1
Ouvrez le compartiment à piles en tenant la moitié inférieure (celle com-
portant l’affichage à cristaux liquides) et en dévissant la partie supé-
rieure dans le sens contraire des aiguilles d’une montre (IMAGE 6).
Étape 2
Insérez deux piles AAA de la manière indiquée (IMAGE 7).
Étape 3
Fermez le compartiment à piles en tenant la moitié inférieure et en vis-
sant la partie supérieure dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre
(IMAGE 6).
Étape 4
L’écran LCD doit indiquer la température et l’humidité actuelles.
Étape 5
Le dispositif est conçu pour être placé sur l'interface utilisateur. De
cette manière, l'appareil peut être placé à une hauteur d'environ 1 à 1,5
mètre, par exemple sur une étagère, sans attirer l'attention.
En fonction du kit, un support mural peut être fourni. Installez-la si, par
exemple, il n'y a pas d'étagère dans un couloir sur laquelle placer l'appa-
reil.
Dans ce cas, retirez le film de protection du Velcro ou du Nano Tape et
mettez le support mural en place.
Attention : L'adhésif de la bande Velcro a besoin de 24h pour atteindre
sa pleine force. Le Nano Tape ne nécessite pas de temps de séchage,
mais la force adhésive dépend de la pression de contact.
Étape 6
Pour finaliser l’installation, tous les périphériques tiko doivent être con-
figurés à l’aide de l’application d’installation.

Utilisation
Fonctionnement de l’appareil
L’IMAGE 5 montre l’écran LCD. La température est affichée en haut (A), l’humidité rela-
tive de l’air en bas (B). En bas en (C), l’intensité du signal est indiquée. Lorsque la capacité
restante de la batterie atteint 10 %, l’icône de batterie (D) apparaît.
Sense-3 réalise et transmet toutes les 5 minutes une nouvelle mesure de manière auto-
nome. Avant de transmettre, l’appareil effectue une évaluation de canal libre (CCA ou
Clear Channel Assessment) et attend une réponse de son homologue (M-Box), afin de
s’assurer que les informations ont été correctement transmises. Le voyant situé au-des-
sus de l’écran clignote en vert pour chaque transmission réussie et en rouge pour chaque
transmission qui a échoué.
Si l’appareil ne peut pas communiquer avec la M-Box pendant 30 minutes, les informa-
tions de température et d’humidité seront supprimées de l’écran LCD. Il est possible d’af-
ficher à nouveau les informations et de déclencher une autre transmission en appuyant
sur l’un des deux boutons.
Désinstallation
Étape 1
Si l’appareil reste la propriété de tiko Energy Solutions AG ou
de son revendeur agréé, il doit être rendu. Sinon, l’élimination
finale d’un appareil doit être effectuée conformément aux
lois et réglementations nationales.
