1. INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on your purchase of the Marmitek Powermid XS. Using this

device, you can continue to operate your A/V equipment with your own re-

mote control, even when it is placed in a closed cupboard, at the other side of

the room or even at the other side of the wall! The Powermid XS™ is suitable

for use in any interior, due to its compact design.

3. INSTALLATION OF THE IR TRANSMITTER

See figure 1.

1. Insert the supplied power adapter into the power socket

(230V-50Hz) and insert the power plug into the DC

input [E] at the backside of the IR transmitter. Use strictly

the supplied adapter!

2. Place the IR transmitter at a maximum distance of 6

meters form the A/V equipment (DVD player, decoder,

video, stereo, etc.) that you want to operate. Point the

front side (with the Marmitek logo) of the IR transmitter

at the A/V equipment.

Beware: It is important for the proper function of the system that the

antenna wire [G] stays free and does not get covered by the metal cas-

ing of e.g. A/V equipment.

4. INSTALLATION OF THE IR RECEIVER

See figure 3 and 4.

1. Open the IR receiver by sliding down the cover at the backside.

2. Place the 2 additionally supplied AAA 1.5V batteries into the IR receiver.

Be careful about the polarity (+/-). This is indicated at the inside of the IR

receiver. Use strictly non-rechargeable (Alkaline) batteries. Slide the cover

back onto the IR receiver.

3. Place the IR receiver within the range of your remote control (maximum 6

meters). Make sure that the front side (with the Marmitek logo) is facing you.

The IR receiver can be moved freely due to the wireless technology. However,

it is important to place it within the sight and range of your remote control.

5. USAGE

1. Make sure that the A/V equipment is switched on.

2. Point your remote control at the Powermid XS IR receiver. The IR receiver

receives the infrared signal, transforms it into an RF signal and transmits it

to the Powermid XS IR Transmitter. The IR Transmitter then transforms this

signal again into an infrared signal, which is transmitted to your DVD-player,

decoder, video, stereo-equipment, etc. When you want to operate your

equipment from several rooms, you can make use of several additional IR

receivers (Art. no. 09773).

6. INSTALLATION OF THE OPTIONAL

IR EXTENDER CABLE (IR EYE)

When you can’t place the IR transmitter within the sight of your A/V equip-

ment (because it is in a closed cupboard, for example), then you can place the

IR transmitter next to or on your A/V equipment with the use of an additional

IR Eye (Art. no. 09682).

1. Connect the IR extender cable to the output [F] at the backside of the IR

transmitter (see figure 1).

2. Remove the protection foil from one of the IR LEDs. Place this IR LED on the

IR window of the A/V equipment that you want to operate. Don’t press it

down too much yet. It is recommended that you check the function of the

IR LED before its definite attachment. Point your original remote control at

the sensor on the front side of the IR receiver, and choose a few channels,

for example. When the A/V equipment does not respond, it may be so that

the IR LED has not been attached at the right position. In case of some

devices, the positioning is critical. You can use the second IR LED to operate

a second A/V device. Never remove the IR LED, even if you don’t use it!

7. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I can’t operate the A/V equipment via the Powermid XS.

Consider the following instructions:

• Use strictly new (full) non-rechargeable alkaline AAA type batteries for your

IR receiver.

• Check if the light of the IR receiver lights up when you use the remote

control.

• Is your IR transmitter within the range of your A/V equipment?

• Shifting the IR receiver or the IR transmitter often solves the problem.

Even 30 cm to the left or to the right can make much difference.

• Change the position of the antenna wire [G], experiment with it for the best

result.

• The IR Receiver does not work together with some A/V apparatus and models

which use a higher IR frequency like for instance Bang&Olufsen (B&O) .

I’m having problems operating the A/V equipment in combination with

the optional IR Eye:

Consider the following instructions:

• Do the IR LEDs light up when you press a button of the remote control?

• Is the IR Eye correctly connected to the IR transmitter?

• Is the IR LED correctly attached to the IR window of your A/V equipment?

Is it possible to use several IR receivers with each other?

Yes, they will all send signals to the IR transmitter.

Is it possible to use several IR transmitters with each other?

Yes, however, the IR transmitters will all transmit the same IR signal, which is

received by the IR receiver.

9. OPTIONALLY AVAILABLE

Marmitek EasyControl8 or Marmitek EasyTouch35

(with built-in RF transmitter).

With both these remote controls, you can

operate 8 A/V devices: TV, video, DVD, cable,

satellite, audio, Marmitek X-10 and digital

satellite. They will always be functional due to

the pre-programmed codes and the memory

function. The remote control will operate

with the Powermid XS, even through walls

and ceilings due to the built-in RF transmitter.

That’s how it is possible to operate your

devices from a different place than where

the Powermid XS IR receiver is situated. The

EasyTouch35 is provided with a handy Touch

screen with light blue display illumination.

The IR Eye extends the IR signal of your remote control in

combination with the Powermid XS. Using the infrared extender,

you can operate your A/V equipment even when it is in a closed

cupboard, out of sight or in another room. For more information,

With the help of an extra IR Receiver you can also control your

A/V equipment from another place.

1. EINFÜHRUNG

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Erwerb des Marmitek Powermid XS. Hiermit

können Sie Ihre A/V Geräte weiter wie gewohnt mit Ihrer eigenen Fernbedi-

enung bedienen, sogar wenn diese in einem verschlossenen Schrank, am

anderen Ende des Zimmers oder an der anderen Seite einer Wand aufgestellt

sind! Aufgrund seines kompakten Designs eignet sich die Powermid XS™ für

Verwendung in jedem Interieur.

2. VERPACKUNGSINHALT

3. INSTALLATION DES IR SENDERS (IR TRANSMITTER)

Siehe Abbildung 1.

1. Schließen Sie den mitgelieferten Speisungsadapter

ans Stromnetz an (230V-50Hz) und stecken Sie den

Speisungsstecker in den DC Eingang [E] an der Rückseite des

IR Senders. Verwenden Sie ausschließlich den mitgeliefer-

ten Adapter!

2. Stellen Sie den IR Sender maximal 6 Meter entfernt von

Ihren zu bedienenden AV-Geräten (DVD-Player, Decoder,

Video, Stereo usw.) auf. Richten Sie die Vorderseite (mit

dem Marmitek Logo) des IR Senders auf Ihre A/V Geräte.

Achtung: Zur Gewährleistung einer guten Funktionalität des Systems ist es

wichtig, dass das Antennenkabel [G] frei liegt und nicht durch beispielsweise

Metallgehäuse Ihrer A/V Geräte abgeschirmt wird.

4. INSTALLATION DES IR EMPFÄNGERS (IR RECEIVER)

Siehe Abbildung 3 und 4.

1. Öffnen Sie den IR Empfänger, indem Sie die Klappe an der Rückseite nach

unten schieben.

2. Legen Sie die 2 mitgelieferten AAA 1,5V Batterien in das Batteriefach des

IR Empfängers ein. Achten Sie dabei auf die Polarität (+/-). Diese ist an der

Innenseite des IR Empfängers wiedergegeben. Verwenden Sie ausschließlich

nichtaufladbare (Alkaline) Batterien.

3. Schließen Sie das Fach des IR Empfängers.

4. Stellen Sie den IR Empfänger in Reichweite Ihrer Fernbedienung auf

(maximal 6 Meter). Die Vorderseite (mit dem Marmitek Logo) muss auf Sie

gerichtet sein.

Aufgrund der drahtlosen Technologie kann der IR Empfänger frei aufgestellt

werden. Es ist jedoch wichtig, dass dieser im Sehfeld und Reichweite Ihrer

Fernbedienung aufgestellt ist. Experimentieren Sie mit der Positionierung, um

das beste Resultat zu ermitteln.

5. ANWENDUNG

1. Schalten Sie Ihr A/V Gerät ein.

2. Richten sie Ihre Fernbedienung auf den Powermid XS IR Empfänger. Der IR

Empfänger empfängt die Infrarot-Signale, wandelt sie in RF Signale um und

sendet diese wieder zum Powermid XS IR Sender. Der IR Sender wandelt

diese Signale wieder in Infrarot-Signale um und sendet diese zu Ihrem

DVD-Player, Decoder, Video, Stereoanlage usw. Wenn Sie Ihre Geräte von

mehreren Zimmern aus bedienen möchten, können Sie weitere IR Empfän-

ger aufstellen (Art.-Nr. 09773)

6. INSTALLATION DES OPTIONALEN

IR VERLÄNGERUNGSKABELS (IR EYE)

Wenn Sie den IR Sender nicht in Sichtweite Ihrer A/V Geräte aufstellen können

(da diese z.B. in einem verschlossenen Schrank stehen), können Sie mithilfe

des optionalen IR Eye (Art.-Nr. 09682) den IR Sender auch neben oder auf

Ihren Geräten aufstellen.

1. Schließen Sie das IR Verlängerungskabel an den Ausgang [F] an der Rück-

seite des IR Senders an (siehe Abbildung 1).

2. Entfernen Sie die Folie von einem der IR LED. Kleben Sie diese IR LED auf

das IR Fenster Ihres A/V Gerätes, das Sie bedienen möchten. Drücken

Sie diese noch nicht zu fest an. Bevor Sie die IR LED definitiv befestigen,

empfehlen wir Ihnen, die Funktionstüchtigkeit zu überprüfen. Richten Sie

deshalb Ihre Original-Fernbedienung auf das Fenster an der Vorderseite des

IR Empfängers und wählen Sie z.B. ein paar Kanäle an. Wenn Ihr A/V Gerät

nicht reagiert, kann es sein, dass die IR LED nicht an der richtigen Stelle

angebracht ist. Bei manchen Geräten erfordert die Positionierung große

Genauigkeit. Die zweite IR LED können Sie zur Bedienung eines eventuellen

zweiten A/V Gerätes verwenden. Entfernen Sie diese IR LED niemals, auch

nicht, wenn Sie diese nicht verwenden.

7. HÄUFIG GESTELLTE FRAGEN

Ich kann die A/V Geräte nicht über den Powermid XS bedienen.

Beachten Sie nachstehende Hinweise:

• Verwenden Sie für Ihren Empfänger ausschließlich neue (volle) nichtauflad-

bare Alkaline Batterien des Typs AAA.

• Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Licht im IR Empfänger rot aufleuchtet, wenn

Sie die Fernbedienung nutzen.

• Befindet sich der IR Sender in Reichweite Ihrer A/V Geräte?

• Oftmals bietet das Verstellen des IR Empfängers oder IR Senders die Lösung.

Sogar 30 cm nach links oder rechts kann großen Unterschied machen.

• Ändern Sie die Position des Antennenkabels [G], experimentieren Sie, bis Sie

das beste Resultat erzielt haben.

• Der IR Empfänger kann mit einigen A/V Geräten und Modellen, die eine

höhere IR Frequenz verwenden wie z.B. Bang&Olufsen (B&O) nicht be-

trieben werden.

Ich begegne Schwierigkeiten bei der Bedienung der A/V Geräte in

Verbindung mit dem optionalen IR Eye:

• Leuchten die IR LED auf, wenn Sie die Taste der Fernbedienung drücken?

• Ist das IR Eye richtig an den IR Sender angeschlossen?

• Ist die IR LED richtig an das IR Fenster Ihres A/V Geräts angebracht?

Können mehrere IR Empfänger untereinander verwendet werden?

Ja, diese werden alle das Signal zum IR Sender versenden.

Können mehrere IR Sender untereinander verwendet werden?

Ja, die IR Sender werden jedoch alle dieselben IR Signale senden, die vom IR

Empfänger empfangen werden.

es auch möglich ist, Ihre Geräte auch an

anderer Stelle, als dort wo der Powermid XS

IR Empfänger steht, zu bedienen. Die EasyTouch35 ist mit einem praktischen

Das IR Eye verlängert in Kombination mit dem Powermid XS

das IR Signal Ihrer Fernbedienung. Mit einer Infrarot-Verlän-

gerung können Sie Ihre A/V Geräte bedienen, während diese

sich in einem verschlossenen Schrank, außer Sichtweite oder in

einem anderen Raum befinden.

Extra IR Empfänger Art.-Nr. 09773

Mithilfe eines zusätzlichen IR Empfängers können Sie Ihre

A/V Geräte auch von einem anderen Ort aus bedienen.

3. INSTALLATION DU TRANSMETTEUR

(IR TRANSMITTER)

Voir image 1.

1. Mettez l’adaptateur d’alimentation livré dans la prise (230V-50Hz) et mettez

la cheville d’alimentation dans l’entrée DC [E] à l’arrière

du transmetteur IR. Utilisez uniquement l’adaptateur livré

2. Placez le transmetteur IR à 6 m au plus de vos appareils

A/V (lecteur dvd, décodeur, vidéo, stéréo, etc.). Dirigez

le devant (avec le logo Marmitek) du transmetteur IR sur

vos appareils A/V.

Attention : Pour un bon fonctionnement du système

il est important que le fil d’antenne [G] soit libre et ne soit pas bloqué

par exemple par l’encasement en métal de vos appareils A/V.

4. INSTALLATION DU RECEVEUR IR (IR RECEIVER)

Voir images 3 et 4.

1. Ouvrez le receveur IR en poussant vers le bas le couvercle à l’arrière.

2. Placez les 2 piles 1.5V AAA dans le receveur IR. Vérifiez bien la polarité

(+/-) indiquée à l’intérieur du receveur IR. Utilisez uniquement des piles non

chargeables (alcalines).

3. Replacez le couvercle sur le receveur IR.

4. Placez le receveur IR à portée de votre télécommande (6 m maximum).

Le devant (avec le logo Marmitek) doit être dirigé vers vous.

Cette technologie sans fil permet de placer le receveur IR comme on veut. Il

est important cependant que celui-ci soit placé en vue et à portée de votre

télécommande. Vérifiez dans quelle position le fonctionnement est optimal.

5. UTILISATION

1. Votre appareil A/V doit être branché.

2. Dirigez votre télécommande vers le receveur IR Powermid XS. Le receveur

IR reçoit des signaux infrarouges, les transforme en signaux RF et les envoie

vers le receveur IR Powermid XS. Le receveur IR retransforme ces signaux

en signaux infrarouges et les envoie vers votre lecteur dvd, décodeur, vidéo,

installation stéréo, etc. Si vous voulez manier vos appareils depuis plusieurs

pièces, vous pouvez placer plusieurs receveurs IR (art.nr. 09773).

6. INSTALLATION DU CÂBLE DE RALLONGE

OPTIONNEL IR (IR EYE)

Si vous ne pouvez placer le transmetteur IR en vue de votre appareil A/V (parce

que par exemple celui-ci se trouve dans un placard fermé), vous pouvez aussi

placer le transmetteur IR à côté ou sur l’appareil a l’aide de l’IR Eye (art. nr.

09682).

1. Raccordez le câble de rallonge IR sur l’entrée [F] à l’arrière du transmetteur

IR (voir image 1).

2. Ôtez la feuille couvrant l’un des LEDs IR. Placez ce LED IR sur la fenêtre IR de

l’appareil A/V que vous voulez manier. Ne serrez pas encore trop. Avant de

fixer définitivement le LED IR nous vous conseillons de vérifiez que cela fonc-

tionne. Dirigez votre télécommande originale vers la fenêtre sur le devant du

receveur IR et choisissez par exemple quelques canaux. Si l’appareil A/V ne

réagit pas, il est possible que le LED IR ne soit pas bien placé. Pour certains

appareils l’emplacement est important. Vous pouvez utiliser le second LED IR

pour manier éventuellement un second appareil A/V. Si vous n’utilisez pas ce

LED IR, ne l’enlevez jamais !

7. FOIRE AUX QUESTIONS

Je ne peux pas manier les appareils A/V avec Powermid XS.

Suivez les indications suivantes :

• Utilisez pour le receveur IR uniquement des piles alcaline de type AAA

nouvelles (pleines) non rechargeables.

• Contrôlez si la lumière dans le receveur IR s’allume quand vous utilisez la

télécommande.

• Le transmetteur IR se trouve-t-il à portée de votre appareil A/V ?

• Souvent il suffit de déplacer le receveur IR. A peine 30 cm vers la gauche ou

vers la droite peut suffir.

• Changez la position du fil d’antenne [G], vérifiez pour le meilleur résultat.

• Le Récepteur IR n´est pas compatible avec certain appareils A/V et modèles

qui font usage d’une fréquence IR plus haute comme par exemple

Bang&Olufsen (B&O)

J’ai des problèmes à manier les appareils A/V en combinaison avec l’IR

EYE optionnel :

Suivez les indications suivantes :

• Est-ce que les LEDs IR s’allument lorsque vous appuyez sur le bouton de la

télécommande ?

• L’IR Eye est-il correctement raccordé sur le transmetteur IR ?

• Le LED IR est-il correctement raccordé sur la fenêtre IR de votre appareil A/V ?

Plusieurs receveurs IR peuvent-ils être utilisés ensemble ?

Oui, ils enverront tous le signal vers le transmetteur IR.

Plusieurs transmetteurs IR peuvent-ils être utilisés ensemble ?

Oui, les transmetteurs IR émettrons cependant tous les mêmes signaux IR

reçus par le receveur IR.

vous pouvez manier 8 appareils A/V : télévision,

Marmitek X10 et satellite digital. Ils fonction-

nent toujours, grâce aux codes préprogrammés

L’IR Eye rallonge le signal IR de votre télécommande en combi-

dans un placard fermé, hors de vue ou dans une autre pièce.

Avec l’aide d’un IR récepteur extra vous pouvez également

servir vos appareils A/V à partir d’un autre endroit.
