The following functions have been added in firmware version 2.00.

Support for recording of MP3 formats
The following can be set in a new menu.

OFF: WAV format will be used for recording audio files.
128: 128kbps MP3 format will be used for recording audio files.
192: 192kbps MP3 format will be used for recording audio files.
NOTE
iIf DUAL REC (MODE) on the menu screen is set to -6 or - 12dB, it will be reset to OFF
when the MP 3 MODE setting is changed to 128 or 192.
When this happens, DUAL REC Cancel will appear in a pop-up message.
iThe 44.1kHz/48kHz sampling frequency and MONO (mono)/POLY (stereo) recording file
type settings will be applied to audio files recorded in MP3 format. Stereo files, however,
will have the same data on both left and right channels.
Level selection with dual recording function
Instead of just OFF and ON (−6dB), now OFF, −6dB or −12dB can be selected.
The following can be set in the menu.

Dual recording function available when POLY recording file type
selected
The dual recording function can now be used when the POLY recording file type is select-
ed.
The content of the Owner’s Manual has been revised accordingly. See the following Own-
er’s Manual additions and revisions.
Level meters appear during recording and playback
The level meters now appear during recording and playback, not just when stopped.

Setting file tag definitions added/corrected (DR-10C/DR-10X and
DR-10L only)
Addition
<mp3>
This indicates the Menu Screen MP3 MODE setting. It can be indicated as “off”, “128kbps”
or “192kbps”.
Example: <mp3>192kbps</mp3>
Correction
<dual_rec>
This indicates the Menu Screen DUAL REC (MODE) setting. It can be indicated as “off”,
“−6db” or “−12db”.
Example: <dual_rec>−6db</dual_rec>
Deletion
NOTE
If the FILE TYPE setting is POLY and the DUAL REC (MODE) setting is ON, the menu item
setting that comes later in the order written in the setting file will be effective.
