BTicino 02. Identità Identity
nuova dimensione di comfort, di benessere e di salute.
Un luogo protetto fa godere appieno dell’esperienza abitativa
o
BTicino has always maintained a leadership position in the
field of innovation, founded on the capacity to look beyond
the standards to achieve new goals, to experiment with
new processes, offer new solutions, present cutting-edge
aesthetic, functional and social dimensions. BTicino believes
that being innovative today means to explore new
technological contexts relating to the diverse requirements
of different lifestyles, ways of living and working. A constant
striving towards a simple, non-invasive, inexpensive and
truly useful technology, on the side of the users.
The theme of sustainability has become decisive for our
planet, for the business and design culture, and is strongly
felt by consumers. The “environment” factor represents
an extraordinary opportunity for growth today.
BTicino knows that “sustainable manufacturing” requires
a long and articulated process that leads all company
functions towards total transparency and coherence
in everyday action.
The Company has made significant choices in this direction,
developing a sensibility that means constant improvement
in the environmental performance of its products, in the
pursuit of manufacturing certifications, in the development of
energy-saving systems and in public awareness campaigns.
Usability and simplicity of use are concepts that can
introduce pleasure, gratification and emotion in the fruition
of technology, shifting from an idea of efficiency to an idea
of effectiveness.
BTicino’s research is directed towards products and
solutions that are easy and intuitive to use, that can dialogue
and interact with the users in a clear and accessible
language. The interaction with the user must create the best

possible environmental conditions for his needs, whether
they concern safety or comfort or simply switching on
t
he light.
Following this principle, technological and aesthetic
sophistication for BTicino increasingly means simplification
and personalization.
Safety means security and protection, but also health
and wellbeing.
BTicino has become established over the years as a
company that is strongly focused on the need for electrical

afety in living spaces, from the first Salvavita

circuit breaker, to the latest-generation systems. My Home
offers integrated solutions for the protection of spaces,
people and things from any dangerous situation, managing
them even from a distance: intruder alarms, video control
systems, emergency and medical rescue signals.
But a safe space is a friendly space that opens to a new
dimension of comfort, wellbeing and health. A protected
space allows the living or working experience to be
fully enjoyed, encouraging respect for the people,
the environment and the objects that bring it to life.
Products and design have always been interested prevalently
in the needs and requirements of the wealthy, able, western
minority of the world. They have ignored most of the world’s
population, which grapples with urgent and dramatic
problems: from the poor to the disinherited, to the diversely
cultured and able. From this perspective, there is a need
today for deeper considerations on the ethical role of design
and manufacturing.
BTicino’s research has long been engaged in the study
of products and solutions, such as a radio remote control,
to be used by persons with different needs and abilities.
For its work in this field, in 2006 BTicino earned a
nomination for the “Sodalitas Social Award: imprese e
responsabilità sociale”, awarded to BTicino for its work
to integrate the disabled in the field of manufacturing.
