Indications for Use

The JustRight™ 5mm Stapler is intended for use in abdominal, gynecologic,

pediatric, and thoracic surgery for resection, transection, and creation of

anastomosis.

Titanium, as found in JustRight Surgical surgical staples, is acceptable for use

with MRI and NMR procedures as it is nonferromagnetic. The implanted staples

are not subject to displacement or induced torque, and do not result in localized

heating. The implantable staples are categorized as MR Safe.

Contraindications

• Do not use the JustRight™ 5mm Stapler 2.0 mm staples on any tissue that compresses to

less than. 75mm in thickness, on any tissue that cannot comfortably compress to 1.0 mm or

on the aorta.

• Do not use the JustRight™ 5mm Stapler on tissue such as liver, hepatic vasculature, spleen,

pancreas, or biliary structures where compressibility is such that closure of the instrument

would be destructive.

• Do not use the JustRight™ 5mm Stapler where adequacy of hemostasis cannot be verified

visually after application.

• Do not use the JustRight™ 5mm Stapler with a staple line reinforcement material.

Adequate staple formation cannot be verified when using staple line buttressing

materials such as PERI-STRIPS or SEAMGUARD products.

Warnings and Cautions

Warning

This product is intended for single use only; it cannot be adequately cleaned or

resterilized for safe reuse. Attempts to clean or sterilize may result in biocompatibility

infection or product failure risks to the patient.

Place tissue in the center of the jaws. To avoid incomplete ligation, do not grasp

structure beyond the staple line surface; do not place tissue in the jaw hinge.

Any tissue extending beyond the cut mark will not be transected.

When using the stapler more than once during a SINGLE surgical procedure, be

sure to remove the empty JustRight™ 5mm Reload single use unit and reload a new

one. When the JustRight™ 5mm Reload is empty, the blue staple deployment and cut

lever will not engage. This prevents inadvertent actuation of the integrated knife.

After staples have been deployed, do not reclamp an empty staple cartridge on tissue

or use to manipulate structures. Inadvertent tissue damage may occur.

Preoperative radiotherapy may result in changes to tissue. These changes may, for

example, cause the tissue thickness to exceed the indicated range for the staple size.

Careful consideration with regard to staple size should be given to any pre-surgical

treatment the patient may have undergone.

Device performance testing was conducted preclinically in animals. No human clinical

testing was performed.

Always inspect the tissue thickness prior to application of the JustRight™ 5mm

Stapler.

Endoscopic procedures should be performed only by physicians having adequate

training and familiarity with endoscopic techniques. Prior to performing any

endoscopic procedures, consult the medical literature relative to technique,

complications, and hazards.

When using endoscopic instruments and accessories from different manufacturers in

a procedure, be sure to verify compatibility and ensure that electrical isolation or

grounding is not compromised.

Caution

After firing, always inspect the staple line for hemostasis. Minor bleeding or oozing may

be controlled by electrocautery or manual sutures.

The anvil of the stapler must be completely visible (past the cannula sleeve) prior to

opening the jaws within the body cavity.

The JustRight 5mm Stapler is intended to be used with a laparoscopic cannula with

a minimum diameter of 5.5 mm.

Always close the blue Top Lever on the stapler handle prior to introducing and

removing the stapler from the cannula sleeve.

Description

The JustRight™ 5mm Stapler places two staggered rows of 2.0 mm titanium staples while

simultaneously dividing the tissue between the two staple rows.

The JustRight™ 5mm Stapler is designed for introduction and use through a 5mm cannula

sleeve.

Handle – JustRight™ 5mm Stapler

1. To insert the staple reload, the top blue lever must be in the closed position.

2. Remove the green ship lock from the JR-REL25-2.0 staple reload by depressing the ribbed

grip area on the reload while rotating the green ship lock in the direction of the arrow and

pulling on it.

NOTE: Do not remove the green ship lock on the Reload until you are ready to load into the

handle.

3. Align the blue dot on the reload connector with the blue dot on the handle’s rotation knob and

insert until fully seated.

NOTE The reload can only be inserted one way; the tabs on the reload connector are

different widths and match the slots in the rotation knob.

4. Rotate the reload shaft clockwise until the blue dot on the outside of the reload shaft aligns

with the blue dot on the rotation knob.

NOTE: The top blue lever (1) must be in the closed position before attempting to insert the stapler into

cannula sleeve.

3. Turn the rotation knob until the jaws are in the required position.

Warning

When positioning the stapler on the application site, ensure that no obstruction, such as

clips, are incorporated in to the instrument jaws. Firing over an obstruction may result in

incomplete cutting action and/or improperly formed staples.

4. Position the tissue to be transected between the black lines on the outside of the

instrument jaws.

5. Pull back on the Jaw Clamp Lever (2) until the jaws lock on tissue to be transected.

Warning

If the jaws of the device do not lock closed, the target tissue is outside the compression

specifications. Reposition the jaws on to tissue within compression specification range.

To release and reposition jaws, depress the blue Jaw Release button (5) on the

back of the handle.

Repeat Step 5.

NOTE: After closing, pausing for 10 seconds prior to firing may result in better tissue

compression and better staple formation.

Flip the green Safety Lock (3) down. Do not hold the safety lock down.

Pull back completely on the blue Staple Deployment and Cut Lever (4) and release to resect

the tissue structure.

NOTE: Only pull back on the blue Staple Deployment and Cut Lever (4) once to completely

fire a staple line.

Press the blue Jaw Release button (5) to open the jaws.

Push down on the blue Top Lever (1) (closed position) and remove the device from the

cannula.

Remove and set aside a spent staple Reload after firing.

13.

Reload the device if necessary:

Remove the spent reload by depressing the ribbed grip area on the reload and rotating it

until the alignment pins are disengaged, then pull the spent reload from the handle and

discard it.

Remove the green ship lock from a new JR-REL25-2.0 staple reload by depressing the

ribbed grip area on the reload while rotating the green ship lock in the direction

of the arrow and pulling on it.

Insert a new reload by aligning the blue dot on the reload connector with the blue dot on

the handle’s rotation knob and inserting until fully seated.

Rotate the reload shaft clockwise until the blue dot on the outside of the reload shaft

aligns with the blue dot on the rotation knob.

14.

The JustRight™ 5mm Stapler may be reloaded and fired up to 15 times in a single procedure.

After Surgery

Warning

Do not reuse or resterilize instruments and accessories labeled “disposable” or “single

use only”.

Discard the stapler instrument after use. The instrument is not able to withstand

resterilization. Do not resterilize.

Contra-indicações

• Não utilize os agrafos de 2,0 mm do JustRight™ 5mm Stapler em qualquer tecido que se

comprime a menos de 0,75 mm de espessura, em qualquer tecido que não se comprima

confortavelmente a 1,0 mm ou na aorta.

• Não utilize o JustRight™ 5mm Stapler em determinados tecidos, como fígado, vasculatura

hepática, baço, pâncreas ou estruturas biliares, onde a compressibilidade é tal que o fecho

do instrumento seria destrutivo.

• Não utilize o JustRight™ 5mm Stapler quando não é possível verificar visualmente a

adequação de hemostasia após a aplicação.

• Não utilize o JustRight™ 5mm Stapler com um material de reforço da linha de agrafos.

Não é possível verificar a formação adequada de agrafos quando se utilizam materiais de

Advertências e precauções

Advertência

Este produto destina-se a uma utilização única; não pode ser limpo ou reesterilizado

de maneira adequada que permita uma reutilização segura. As tentativas de limpeza

ou esterilização podem provocar riscos de biocompatibilidade, infecção ou falha do

produto para o paciente.

Coloque o tecido no centro das mandíbulas. Para evitar a ligação incompleta, não

agarre a estrutura além da superfície da linha de agrafos; não coloque tecido na

dobradiça da mandíbula. Qualquer tecido para além da marca de corte não será

submetido à transecção.

Quando utilizar o agrafador mais do que uma vez durante um ÚNICO procedimento

cirúrgico, certifique-se de que remove a unidade de utilização única vazia JustRight™

Reload e recarregue uma nova. Quando a JustRight™ Reload estiver vazio, a alavanca

de colocação e corte de agrafos azul não engata. Isto impede a actuação inadvertida

da faca integrada.

Depois de colocar os agrafos, não agrafe novamente um cartucho de agrafos vazio

no tecido nem utilize para manipular estruturas. Poderão ocorrer lesões inadvertidas

no tecido.

A radioterapia pré-operatório poderá resultar em alterações no tecido. Estas alterações

podem, por exemplo, fazer com que a espessura exceda o intervalo indicado para

o tamanho do agrafo. Deverá ser devidamente considerado o tamanho do agrafo

em qualquer tratamento pré-cirúrgico ao qual o paciente possa ter sido submetido.

Foram efectuados testes pré-clínicos em animais ao desempenho do dispositivo.

Não foi efectuado nenhum teste clínico em humanos.

Inspeccione sempre a espessura do tecido antes da aplicação do JustRight™ 5mm

Stapler.

Os procedimentos endoscópicos devem ser efectuados apenas por médicos com

a formação adequada e familiarizados com técnicas endoscópicas. Antes de efectuar

quaisquer procedimentos endoscópicos, consulte a literatura médica relativa à técnica,

complicações e riscos.

Quando utilizar instrumentos e acessórios endoscópicos de diferentes fabricantes

num procedimento, certifique-se de que verifica a compatibilidade e garanta que o

isolamento eléctrico ou ligação à terra não está comprometido.

Atenção

Depois de disparar, inspeccione sempre a linha de agrafos para verificar se

ocorrer hemostasia. Uma hemorragia menor ou pus poderá ser controlado

por electrocauterização ou suturas manuais.

A bigorna do agrafador deve estar completamente visível (para além da manga da

cânula) antes de abrir as mandíbulas dentro da cavidade corporal.

O JustRight 5mm Stapler destina-se a ser utilizado com uma cânula laparoscópica

com um diâmetro mínimo de 5,5 mm.

Descrição

NOTA: Não remova o bloqueio verde na Recarga até estar pronto para recarregar na pega.

3. Alinhe o ponto azul no conector da recarga com o ponto azul no botão de rotação da pega

e introduza até estar totalmente assente.

NOTA A recarga só pode ser inserida num sentido; as patilhas no conector da recarga têm

larguras diferentes e correspondem às ranhuras no botão de rotação.

4. Rode a haste da recarga no sentido dos ponteiros do relógio até o ponto azul na parte

externa da haste da recarga estar alinhado com o ponto azul no botão de rotação.

NOTA: A alavanca superior azul (1) deverá encontrar-se na posição fechada antes de tentar inserir

o agrafador na manga da cânula.

3. Rode o botão de rotação até as mandíbulas estarem na posição pretendida.

Advertência

Quando estiver a posicionar o agrafador no local de aplicação, certifique-se de que

nenhuma obstrução, como clipes, está incorporada nas mandíbulas do instrumento.

Disparar sobre uma obstrução pode resultar numa acção de corte incompleta e/ou

agrafos com uma forma incorrecta.

4. Posicione o tecido para a transecção entre as linhas pretas na parte externa das mandíbulas

do instrumento.

5. Recue a Alavanca de agrafos da mandíbula (2) até as mandíbulas estarem bloqueadas no

tecido para a transecção.

Advertência

Se as mandíbulas do dispositivo não se bloquearem na posição fechada, o tecido alvo

está fora das especificações de compressão. Reposicione as mandíbulas no tecido

dentro do intervalo de especificação de compressão.

Para libertar e reposicionar as mandíbulas, pressione o botão de libertação de mandíbula

(5) na parte posterior da pega.

Repita o Passo 5.

NOTA: Depois de fechar, aguardar durante 10 segundos antes de disparar poderá resultar

numa melhor compressão do tecido e melhor formação do agrafo.

Vire o Bloqueio de segurança (3) para baixo. Não segure o botão de bloqueio para baixo

Recue completamente a Alavanca de colocação e corte de agrafos azul (4) e liberte a

estrutura tecidular para efectuar a ressecção.

NOTA: Recue apenas uma vez a Alavanca de colocação e corte de agrafos azul (4) para

disparar completamente uma linha de agrafos.

Pressione o botão de libertação de mandíbula azul (5) para abrir as mandíbulas.

Empurre a Alavanca superior azul (1) (posição fechada) e remova o dispositivo da cânula.

12.

Remova e coloque de parte uma Recarga de agrafos gastos depois de disparar.

13.

Recarregue o dispositivo, se necessário:

Remova a recarga gasta ao pressionar a área da pega frisada na recarga e ao rodá-la

até os pinos de alinhamento estarem desengatados; em seguida, puxe a recarga gasta

da pega e elimine-a.

Remova o bloqueio verde de uma nova recarga de agrafos JR-REL25-2.0 ao

pressionar a área da pega frisada na recarga enquanto roda o bloqueio verde

na direcção da seta e puxa.

Insira uma nova recarga ao alinhar o ponto azul no conector da recarga com o ponto

azul no botão de rotação da pega e introduza até estar totalmente assente.

Rode a haste da recarga no sentido dos ponteiros do relógio até o ponto azul na parte

externa da haste da recarga estar alinhado com o ponto azul no botão de rotação.

O JustRight™ 5mm Stapler pode ser recarregado e disparado até 15 vezes num único

procedimento.

Após a cirurgia

Advertência

Não reutilize ou reesterilize instrumentos e acessórios rotulados como “descartáveis”

ou “para utilização única”.

Elimine o agrafador após a utilização. O instrumento não resiste a reesterilização.

Indikationen

Das JustRight™ 5mm Klammerinstrument ist vorgesehen für die Anwendung

Kontraindikationen

• Verwenden Sie die 2,0-mm-Klammern für das JustRight™ 5mm Klammerinstrument nicht

bei Geweben, die auf weniger als 0,75 mm Dicke komprimiert werden, die nicht problemlos

auf 1,0 mm komprimiert werden können und bei der Aorta.

• Verwenden Sie das JustRight™ 5mm Klammerinstrument nicht für Gewebe wie Leber,

Lebergefäße, Milz, Pankreas oder Gallenstrukturen, deren Kompressibilität so geartet ist,

dass sie durch das Schließen des Instruments zerstört werden könnten.

• Verwenden Sie den JustRight™ 5mm Stapler nicht in Situationen, wo eine adäquate

Warnungen und Vorsichtshinweise

Warnhinweis

Dieses Produkt ist nur für den Einmalgebrauch vorgesehen; es kann für die

Wiederverwendung nicht angemessen gereinigt und erneut sterilisiert werden.

Versuche, es zu reinigen oder zu sterilisieren, können zu einer Biokompatibilitätsinfektion

oder Risiken durch Produktversagen für den Patienten führen.

Platzieren Sie das Gewebe in die Mitte der Backen. Um eine unvollständige Ligation

zu vermeiden, ergreifen Sie keine Strukturen außerhalb der Klammernahtoberfläche

und legen Sie das Gewebe nicht in das Backengelenk. Gewebe, das außerhalb der

Schnittmarkierung liegt, wird nicht durchtrennt.

Wird das Klammerinstrument bei einem EINZIGEN chirurgischen Eingriff mehr

als einmal verwendet, achten Sie darauf, die leere JustRight™ 5mm Reload

zum Einmalgebrauch zu entfernen und eine neue zu laden. Wenn die JustRight™ 5mm

Reload leer ist, rastet der blaue Klammerapplikations- und Schneidehebel nicht ein. Auf

diese Weise wird ein unabsichtliches Auslösen des eingebauten Messers verhindert.

Nachdem die Klammern appliziert wurden, klammern Sie das Gewebe nicht erneut

Eine präoperative Bestrahlung kann zu Veränderungen des Gewebes führen. Diese

können dazu führen, dass die Dicke des Gewebes außerhalb des für die Klammergröße

angegebenen Bereichs liegt. Die Klammergröße muss im Zusammenhang mit präoperativen

Behandlungen, denen der Patient unterzogen wurde, sorgfältig bedacht werden.

Leistungstests des Geräts wurden vorklinisch an Tieren durchgeführt. Es wurden keine

Tests an Menschen vorgenommen.

Prüfen Sie vor der Verwendung des JustRight™ 5mm Stapler stets die Gewebedicke.

Endoskopische Verfahren sollten ausschließlich von Ärzten durchgeführt werden,

die in endoskopischen Techniken geschult sind und über entsprechende Erfahrung

verfügen. Ziehen Sie vor der Durchführung endoskopischer Eingriffe die medizinische

Literatur zu dem jeweiligen Verfahren sowie zu Komplikationen und Risiken zu Rate.

Werden bei einem Eingriff endoskopische Instrumente und Zubehörteile von

verschiedenen Herstellern verwendet, prüfen Sie, ob diese kompatibel sind und stellen

Sie sicher, dass die elektrische Isolation oder die Erdung nicht beeinträchtigt ist.

Vorsicht

Untersuchen Sie nach dem Auslösen stets, ob durch die Klammernaht Hämostase

hergestellt wurde. Geringfügiges Bluten oder Austreten von Flüssigkeit kann durch

Elektrokauterisation oder eine manuelle Naht kontrolliert werden.

Der Amboss des Klammerinstruments muss vollständig sichtbar sein (über die Hülse

der Kanüle hinaus), bevor die Backen in der Körperhöhle geöffnet werden.

Das JustRight 5mm Klammerinstrument ist zur Verwendung mit einer laparoskopischen

Kanüle von 5,5 mm Durchmesser vorgesehen.

Schließen Sie vor dem Einführen und Herausnehmen des Klammerinstruments aus der

Kanülenhülse stets den oberen Hebel am Griff des Klammerinstruments.

Beschreibung

Mit dem JustRight™ 5mm Klammerinstrument werden zwei versetzte Reihen von 2,0 mm

großen Titanklammern appliziert, wobei gleichzeitig das Gewebe zwischen den beiden

Klammerreihen geteilt wird.

Der JustRight™ 5mm Stapler ist zur Einführung und Verwendung mithilfe einer 5-mm-

Kanülenhülse konzipiert.

Griff – JustRight™ 5mm Klammerinstrument

1. Zum Einführen der Klammer-Nachladeeinheit muss der obere blaue Hebel in der

geschlossenen Position sein.

2. Entfernen Sie die grüne Transportsicherung von der JR-REL25-2.0 Klammer-

Nachladeeinheit, indem Sie den geriffelten Griffbereich an der Nachladeeinheit drücken und

gleichzeitig die grüne Transportsicherung in Pfeilrichtung drehen und daran ziehen.
