Thedeviceisnotintendedtosustainorsupportlife.
Theoxygenconcentrationleveloftheoutputgasrangesfrom
87%to95.6%.Theoxygenisdeliveredtothepatientthrough
theuseofanasalcannula.Whenthedemandforoxygenis
detected,theoxygenisdeliveredthroughpulsedflowwith
pulseflowsettingsof1through5.
TheInvacareportableconcentratorusesamolecularsieveand
pressureswingadsorptionmethodologytoproducethe
oxygengasoutput.Ambientairentersthedevice,isfiltered
andthencompressed.Thiscompressedairisthendirected
towardoneoftwonitrogenadsorbingsievebeds.
Concentratedoxygenexitstheoppositeendoftheactivesieve
bedandisdirectedintoanoxygenreservoirwhereitis

Introduction
Oxygenconcentratorswereintroducedinthemid1970’sto
providesupplementaloxygentothoseinneed.Oxygen
concentratorsseparatenitrogenfromairtocreateahigh
concentrationoxygengasoutput.Untilnow,thesizeand
weightoftraditionaloxygenconcentratorshavelimitedtheir
portability.TheXPO
2
deliversapulseflowofoxygenina
lightweightpackagethatcanbeeasilycarriedandusedaway
fromhome.
