2 Sicherheitshinweise

2.1 Allgemeine Sicherheit

z Schließen Sie die Kühlbox nur mit dem im Lieferumfang enthaltenen An-

schlusskabel an die 12-V-Steckdose oder den Zigarettenanzünder im

Fahrzeug (3, Seite 3) an.

z Ziehen Sie den Stecker nie am Anschlusskabel aus dem Zigaretten-

anzünder oder der 12-V-Steckdose.

z Wenn das Anschlusskabel beschädigt ist, müssen Sie es ersetzen, um

Gefährdungen zu vermeiden.

z Wenn das Gerät sichtbare Beschädigungen aufweist, dürfen Sie es nicht

in Betrieb nehmen.

z Reparaturen an diesem Gerät dürfen nur von Fachkräften durchgeführt

werden. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen können erhebliche Gefahren

entstehen.

Wenden Sie sich im Reparaturfall an den WAECO Kundendienst.

z Ziehen Sie das Anschlusskabel

– vor jeder Reinigung und Pflege

– nach jedem Gebrauch

z Achten Sie darauf, dass die Lüftungsschlitze nicht abgedeckt werden.

z Setzen Sie das Gerät niemals Regen oder Feuchtigkeit aus.

2.2 Sicherheit beim Betrieb des Gerätes

z Achten Sie vor der Inbetriebnahme darauf, dass Zuleitung und Stecker

trocken sind.

z Kinder oder Personen, die nicht mit dem bestimmungsgemäßen

Gebrauch des Gerätes vertraut sind, dürfen das Gerät nur unter Aufsicht

nutzen.

z Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von offenen Flammen oder

anderen Wärmequellen (Heizung, starke Sonneneinstrahlung, Gasöfen,

usw.) ab.

z Füllen Sie keine Flüssigkeiten oder Eis in den Innenbehälter.

z Tauchen Sie das Gerät nie in Wasser.

z Schützen Sie das Gerät und die Kabel vor Hitze und Nässe.

z Fassen Sie nie mit bloßen Händen an blanke Leitungen. Dies gilt vor

allem beim Betrieb am Wechselstromnetz: Lebensgefahr!

z WAECO haftet nicht für Schäden, die durch nicht bestimmungs-

gemäßen Gebrauch oder falsche Bedienung verursacht werden.

Prüfen Sie vor Inbetriebnahme des Gerätes, ob alle zum Lieferumfang gehö-

renden Teile vorhanden sind.

4 Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch

Die Kühlbox eignet sich zum Kühlen und Warmhalten von Lebensmitteln.

Das Gerät ist auch für Camping-Zwecke geeignet.

Falls Sie Medikamente kühlen wollen, überprüfen Sie bitte, ob die Kühlleis-

tung des Gerätes den Anforderungen der jeweiligen Arzneimittel entspricht.

5 Technische Beschreibung

Die Kühlbox ist für den mobilen Einsatz geeignet. Sie kann Waren

bis ca. 20 °C unter Umgebungstemperatur abkühlen (thermostati-

sche Abschaltung bei ca. +5 °C) bzw. kühl halten oder auf max.

65 °C erwärmen bzw. warm halten.

Die Kühlung ist eine verschleiß- und FCKW-freie Peltierkühlung mit Wärme-

abfuhr durch einen Lüfter.

Die Gerät ist mit einem Batteriewächter ausgestattet. Wird die Kühl-

box bei ausgeschalteter Zündung im Fahrzeug betrieben, schaltet

sich die Box selbstständig ab, sobald die Versorgungsspannung

unter 11.5 Volt abfällt. So wird für eine Restspannung der Batterie

gesorgt, die ein Starten des Fahrzeugs ermöglicht. Die Kühlbox

schaltet sich wieder ein, sobald durch Aufladung der Batterie eine

Versorgungsspannung von 12,8 Volt gegeben ist.

Die Batterie besitzt beim Abschalten durch den Batteriewächter

noch etwa 20% Ihrer Ladekapazität, vermeiden Sie mehrmaliges

Starten oder den Betrieb von Stromverbrauchern ohne längere

Aufladephasen. Sorgen Sie dafür, dass die Batterie wieder aufge-

laden wird.

6 Bedienung

Bevor Sie die neue Kühlbox in Betrieb nehmen, sollten Sie sie

aus hygienischen Gründen innen und außen mit einem feuchten

Tuch reinigen (siehe auch Kapitel „Reinigung und Pflege“ auf

Seite 10).

6.1 Tipps zum Energiesparen

z Wählen Sie einen gut belüfteten und vor Sonnenstrahlen geschützten

Einsatzort.

z Lassen Sie warme Speisen erst abkühlen, bevor Sie sie zum Kühlen ein-

lagern.

z Öffnen Sie die Kühlbox nicht häufiger als nötig!

z Lassen Sie den Deckel oder die Tür nicht länger offen stehen als nötig!

6.2 Kühlbox einschalten

Wenn Sie die Kühlbox an den Zigarettenanzünder oder die 12-V-

Steckdose Ihres Fahrzeugs anschließen beachten Sie, dass Sie

ggf. die Zündung einschalten müssen, damit das Gerät mit Strom

versorgt wird.

Achten Sie darauf, dass sich nur Gegenstände bzw. Waren in der

Kühlbox befinden, die auf die gewählte Temperatur gekühlt bzw.

erwärmt werden dürfen.

➤ Stellen Sie das Gerät auf eine feste Unterlage.

➤ Schließen Sie das Gerät mit dem im Lieferumfang enthaltenen An-

schlusskabel an der fahrzeugseitigen 12-V-Steckdose oder den

Zigarettenanzünder im Fahrzeug (3, Seite 3) an.

➤ Drücken Sie den blauen Taster ( 2 1, Seite 3) am Bedienpanel, um den

Betriebsmodus „Kühlen“ zu starten

oder

drücken Sie den roten Taster (2 5, Seite 3) am Bedienpanel um den Be-

triebsmodus „Heizen“ zu starten.

Sie können den Betriebsmodus während des Betriebes wechseln,

indem Sie den jeweiligen Taster drücken.

✓ Die Kühlbox startet mit dem Kühlen bzw. Heizen des Innenraums, und die

jeweilige LED leuchtet auf.

6.3 Kühlbox ausschalten

➤ Drücken Sie den Taster „OFF“ (2 3, Seite 3) am Bedienpanel.

Wenn Sie das Gerät außer Betrieb nehmen, ziehen Sie das An-

schlusskabel ab.

6.4 Batteriewächter verwenden

Der Batteriewächter schützt Ihre Fahrzeugbatterie beim Anschluss an das

12-V-Bordnetz vor zu tiefer Entladung. So wird sichergestellt, dass dem

Fahrzeug genügend Energie für den Startvorgang zur Verfügung steht.

Die LEDs am Bedienpanel (2 2 und 4, Seite 3) zeigen den Status des Bat-

teriewächters an:

LED leuchtet Die Einschaltspannung (12,8 V ±0,3 V) steht zur Ver-

und der Batteriewächter hat die Kühlbox ausgeschal-

tet.

7 Reinigung und Pflege

Achtung!

Ziehen Sie vor jedem Reinigen der Kühlbox das Anschlusskabel

aus der Steckdose oder dem Zigarettenanzünder.

Achtung!

Reinigen Sie die Kühlbox niemals unter fließendem Wasser oder

gar im Spülwasser.

Achtung!

Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung keine scharfen Reinigungsmittel

oder harten Gegenstände, da diese die Kühlbox beschädigen

können.

➤ Reinigen Sie die Kühlbox innen gelegentlich mit einem feuchten Tuch.

➤ Reinigen Sie das Geräteäußere mit einem feuchten Tuch.

8 Entsorgung

8.1 Verpackungsmaterial entsorgen

Werfen Sie das Verpackungsmaterial nicht einfach weg. Beachten Sie bitte

folgende Hinweise:

z Geben Sie Verpackungsmaterial aus Karton und Kunststoffverpackungen

möglichst in den entsprechenden Recycling-Müll.

z Erfragen Sie ggf. bei Ihrer Kommunalverwaltung den für Sie zuständigen

Recyclinghof.

8.2 Altgerät entsorgen

Wenn Sie das Gerät endgültig außer Betrieb nehmen, bringen Sie es bitte

zum nächsten Recyclingcenter oder zu Ihrem Fachhändler, der es gegen

einen geringen Unkostenbeitrag zurücknimmt.

9 Störungsbeseitigung

Mit einer nichtmetallischen Bürste und

einem Lösungsmittel die Fassung des

Zigarettanzünders reinigen, so dass der

mittlere Kontaktstift sauber ist. Wenn Ihr

Kühlboxstecker in der Zigarettenanzün-

derfassung sehr warm wird, muss ent-

weder die Fassung gereinigt werden,

oder der Stecker ist möglicherweise

nicht richtig zusammengebaut.

Die Sicherung des

Anschlusskabels ist

durchgebrannt.

Tauschen Sie die Sicherung des

Anschlusskabels (5 A) aus.

Die Fahrzeug-Siche-

rung ist durchge-

brannt.

Tauschen Sie die Fahrzeug-Sicherung

2 Safety instructions

2.1 General safety

z Connect the cooler with the cable supplied to the 12 V socket or the

cigarette lighter in the vehicle (3, page 3).

z Do not pull the plug out of the cigarette lighter or the 12 V socket by the cable.

z If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced to prevent possible electrical

hazards.

z Do not operate the device if it is visibly damaged.

z This device may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Inadequate

repairs can lead to considerable hazards.

z Pull out the connection cable:

2.2 Operating the device safely

z Before starting the device, ensure that the power supply line and the plug

are dry.

z Children or persons who are not familiar with the proper use

of the device may only use the device under supervision.

z Never place the device near naked flames or other heat sources

(heating, intense sunlight, gas ovens, etc.)

z Do not fill the inner container with ice or fluid.

z Never immerse the device in water.

z Protect the device and the cable against heat and moisture.

z Do not touch exposed cables with your bare hands. This especially

applies when operating the device with the AC mains: danger of

fatal injuries!

z WAECO cannot be held liable for damage resulting from improper usage

or incorrect operation.

3 Scope of delivery

Before starting the device check if all of the parts belonging to the scope of

delivery are present.

4 Intended use

The cooler is suitable for cooling and keeping foodstuffs warm. The device is

also suitable for camping.

If you wish to cool medicines, please check if the cooling capacity of the

device is suitable for the medicine in question.

5 Technical description

The cooler is suitable for mobile use. You can keep products cool

or cool them to approx. 20 °C under the ambient temperature

(thermostat switches off at approx. +5 °C) or warm them or keep

them warm at a max temperature of 65 °C.

Its cooling system is a non-wearing and CFC-free Peltier cooling, the heat

is discharged by a fan.

The device is fitted with a battery monitor. If the cooler is operated

when the vehicle ignition is switched off, the cooler switches off

automatically as soon as the supply voltage falls below 11.5 V.

This ensures that the battery retains a residual voltage that enables

the vehicle to start. The cooler switches itself on again as soon the

battery can supply a voltage of 12.8 V again.

When the the battery monitor switches the device off, the battery

still has around 20% of its charging capacity. Avoid starting

repeatedly or operating current consumers without long charging

phases. Ensure that the battery is recharged.

6 Operation

Before starting your new cooler for the first time, you should clean

it inside and outside with a damp cloth for hygienic reasons

(please also refer to the “Cleaning and maintenance” chapter on

page 19).

6.1 Energy saving tips

z Choose a well ventilated installation location which is protected against

direct sunlight.

z Allow food to cool down first before placing it in the device to cool.

z Do not open the cooler more often than necessary.

z Do not leave the lid or door open for longer than necessary.

6.2 Switching on the cooler

If you connect the device to the cigarette lighter or the 12 V socket

of your vehicle, remember that the ignition must be turned on to

supply the device with power.

Ensure that the objects placed in the cooler are suitable for

cooling/warming to the selected temperature.

➤ Place the device on a firm base.

➤ Connect the device with the cable supplied to the 12 V socket or the

cigarette lighter in the vehicle (3, page 3).

➤ Press the blue button ( 2 1, page 3) on the control panel to start “cooling”

Press the red button (2 5, page 3) on the control panel to start “heating”.

You can switch between heating and cooling modes during

operation by pressing the corresponding button.

✓ The cool box starts cooling/heating the interior and the appropriate LED

lights up.

6.3 Switching off the cooler

➤ Press the “OFF” button (2 3, page 3) on the control panel.

If you want to switch off the device, pull out the connection cable.

6.4 Using the battery monitor

The battery monitor protects your vehicle battery against discharging

too much when the device is connected to the on-board 12 V supply.

This ensures that the vehicle has enough energy to start.

The LED's on the control panel (2 2 and 4, page 3) show the status of the

battery monitor:

LED glows The switch-on voltage (12.8 V ±0.3 V) is available

and the cooler is in operation.

LED's flash The switch-off voltage (11.5 V ±0.3 V) has been

reached and the battery monitor has switched off

the cooler.

7 Cleaning and maintenance

Caution!

Before cleaning the cooler, pull the cable out of the socket or the

cigarette lighter.

Caution!

Do not clean the cooler under running water or in dish water.

Caution!

Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or hard objects during

cleaning as these can damage the cooler.

➤ Clean the interior of the cooler with a damp cloth from time to time.

➤ Clean the exterior of the device with a damp cloth.

8 Disposal

8.1 Disposing of packaging material

Do not simply throw the packaging materials away. Please observe the

following instructions:

z Place cardboard and plastic packaging in the appropriate recycling

waste bins.

z Ask your local authority for the location of the recycling unit closest to you.

8.2 Disposing of the device

If you wish to finally dispose of the device, take it to the nearest recycling

centre or return it to your specialist dealer who will be happy to take it back

for a small fee.

9 Troubleshooting

Fault Possible cause Suggested remedy

Your cooler is not

working and the fan

wheel which can be

seen from the outside

is not turning.

There is no voltage

flowing from the

cigarette lighter in

your vehicle.

The ignition must be switched on in most

vehicles for voltage to flow at the

cigarette lighter.

The ignition is on and

the cooler is not

working.

Pull the plug out of the

socket and make the

following checks.

The cigarette lighter

socket is dirty. This

results in a poor

electrical contact.

Clean the socket of the cigarette lighter

with a non-metallic brush and a solvent,

to ensure that the middle contact pin is

clean. If the plug of your cooler becomes

very warm in the cigarette lighter socket,

either the socket must be cleaned or the

plug has not been assembled correctly.

The fuse of the

connection cable

has blown.

Replace the connection cable fuse (5 A).

The vehicle fuse has

blown.

Replace the vehicle cigarette lighter fuse

(usually 15 A). Please refer to the

operating manual of your vehicle.

The ignition is on and

the cooler is not

working.

The two LED's on the

control panel flash.

The battery monitor

has acted because

the supply voltage

has sunk below

11.5 V.

Recharge the vehicle battery.

When the the battery monitor switches

the device off, the battery still has around

20% of its charging capacity. Avoid

starting repeatedly or operating current

consumers without long charging phases.

Ensure that the battery is recharged.

Your cooler does not

cool satisfactorily and

the outer fan wheel is

not turning.

The fan motor is

defective.

This can only be repaired by an

authorised customer services unit.

The cooler does not

cool satisfactorily and

the outer fan wheel is

turning.

The fan motor for the

inner fan is

defective.

This can only be repaired by an

authorised customer services unit.

The Peltier element

is defective.
