Funktion
Das Lenkrad-Fernbedienungs-Interface RCI-
4A-VAN verbindet eine Vielzahl von Autoradios
und Navigationsgeräte mit Peugeot- oder
Citroën Fahrzeugen (mit VAN-Datenbus).
Alle Funktionen die das jeweilige Autora-
dio unterstützt, können fernbedient werden.
Folgende Signale erzeugt das Interface aus
dem Datentelegramm vom VAN-Datenbus.

Einbauhinweise
Bevor Sie Ihr Interface anschließen, lesen Sie
bitte sorgfältig die folgenden Hinweise.
Für die Dauer der Montage und des An-
schlusses ist der Minuspol der Batterie ab-
zuklemmen.
Hierbei sind die Sicherheitshinweise des Kraft-
fahrzeug-Herstellers (Airbag, Alarmanlagen,
Bordcomputer, Wegfahrsperren) zu beachten.
Hinweise:
Bei Anschluss von Radiophone-Geräten (Ra-
diotyp 3, siehe Tabelle Seite 17), sind die Ka-
bel von Pin 4 und Pin 7 (
!
, siehe Seite 2)
zu tauschen. Es kann auch je nach Autotyp
ein entsprechendes Adapterkabel benutzt wer-
den.
Bei Radiotyp 1 Geräten (

, siehe Seite 2)
ist die Zuleitung zu Pin 1 (Speed) zu entfer-
nen.
Kontaktbelegung vor Einbau anhand der Ra-
dio oder Navigations-Einbauanleitung prüfen.

Bedenken Sie, daß Sie bei einer Geschwin-
digkeit von 50 km/h in einer Sekunde 14 m fah-
ren.
In kritischen Situationen raten wir von einer
Bedienung ab.
Die Warnsignale z.B. von Polizei und Feuer-
wehr müssen im Fahrzeug rechtzeitig und si-
cher wahrgenommen werden können.
Hören Sie deshalb während der Fahrt Ihr Pro-
gramm nur in angemessener Lautstärke.
Um die Verkehrssicherheit Ihres Fahrzeuges
auch nach den Ein-und Umbauten sicherzu-
stellen,überprüfen Sie ob
• alle Tasten und Schalter am Lenkrad und
an der Lenksäule, die nicht für die Radio
und Navigationsbedienung vorgesehen
sind, ihre Funktion gemäß Ihrer Fahrzeug-

Function
The RCI-4A-VAN steering wheel remote-con-
trol interface can connect a large number of
car radios and navigation devices to Peugeot
or Citroen vehicles (with the VAN data bus).
Any function supported by the particular
car radio can be controlled remotely.
The interface generates the following signals
from the data telegrams it receives from the
VAN data bus.
• Terminal 15 (ignition / positive line)
• Speed (for Gala)
• RFLS (reversing light signal)
•
R
C commands (vol+ / vol- / search up...)
Installation note
Please read the following notes carefully be-
fore connecting your interface.
The battery’s negative terminal must be
disconnected while the assembly and con-
necting work is being carried out.
The vehicle manufacturer’s safety notes (re-
garding the airbag, alarm equipment, on-board
computer, drive lock and so forth) must be
observed.
Note:
If radiophone devices (radio type 3, see page
17) are fitted, pin 4 and pin 7 (
!
, see page
2) must be swapped. Depending on the type
of car, it may also be possible to use an appro-
priate adapter cable.
The lead to pin 1 (speed) must be removed on
radio type 1 devices
(

, see page 2).
Check the contact assignments against the
radio or navigation device fitting instructions

before fitting the unit.
If necessary, leads must be

Road safety
Road safety has the first priority.
You should therefore always use your car radio
equipment in such a way that you remain alert
to the current traffic situation.
Remember that if you are moving at 50 km/h,
then you will cover 14 m in one second.
We advise against making any adjustments in
critical situations.
It must be possible to hear warning signals
from, for instance, police or fire service vehi-
cles promptly from within the vehicle.
You must therefore only listen at a suitable
volume when travelling.
To ensure that your vehicle remains fit for the
road after fitting or modification, check that
• all the buttons or switches on the steering
wheel and on the steering column that serve
purposes other than operating the radio or
navigation device still fulfil their function in
accordance with the vehicle’s instructions
for use, and that
• all the buttons or switches on the steering
wheel and on the steering column whose
purpose is to operate the radio or naviga-
tion device do fulfil their function in accord-
ance with these instructions, and in partic-
ular that they do not have any unexpected
effects.

Fonctionnement
L’interface de télécommande au volant RCI-
4A-VAN relie toute une série d’autoradios et
de systèmes de navigation aux véhicules Peu-
geot et Citroën (équipés du bus de données
VAN).
Toutes les fonctions supportées par l’auto-
radio respectif peuvent être commandées à
distance.
L’interface crée, du télégramme de données

du bus de données VA, les signaux suivants :
• Borne 15 (Allumage / Plus commuté)
• Speed (signal de vitesse pour Gala)
• RFLS (signal de feu de marche arrière)

Consignes de montage
Avant de raccorder l’interface, lisez attentive-
ment les consignes suivantes.
Débrancher impérativement le pôle (-) de la
batterie pour la durée du montage et du
branchement.
Respectez ce faisant les consignes de sécurité
du constructeur automobile (air bags, alarmes,
ordinateurs de bord, systèmes anti-démarra-
ge).
Note :
En cas de connexion d’appareils Radiophone
(type de radio 3, cf. page 17), échanger les
câbles du pin 4 et pin 7 (
!
cf. page 2).
Il est possible d’utiliser aussi un câble adapta-
teur correspondant en fonction du modèle du
véhicule.
En cas de connexion d’appareils Type de
radio 1 (
!
cf. page 2), enlever le câble
d’alimentation au pin 1 (speed).
Vérifier l’affectation des contacts avant le
montage au moyen du guide de montage de
l’autoradio ou du système de navigation.
Si nécessaire,
• ***enlever et isoler ou
• *** insérer ou
• ***permuter les câbles.
Blaupunkt déclinera toute responsabilité en
cas de contrôle insuffisant de la connexion et
de l’affectation des contacts.

Sécurité routière
La sécurité routière est impérative !
Utilisez par conséquent votre autoradio en res-
tant toujours maître de votre véhicule.
Soyez conscient que vous parcourez à une
vitesse de 50 km/h 14 m à la seconde.
Nous vous conseillons de ne pas utiliser l’ap-
pareil dans des situations criê!ques.
Les signaux d’avertissement comme ceux de
la police et des sapeurs-pompiers doivent pou-
voir être bien perçus à temps à l’intérieur du
véhicule.
Soyez toujours à l’écoute de l’appareil à un
volume modéré pendant vos déplacements.
Pour garantir la sécurité routière de votre véhi-
cule même après l’installation et les modifica-
tions, vérifiez si
• si toutes les touches et commutateurs sur
le volant et sur la colonne de direction non
prévus pour la radio et la navigation, fonc-
tionnent encore conformément au manuel
d’emploi du véhicule et
• si toutes les touches et commutateurs sur
le volant et sur la colonne de direction non

guide d’utilisation et ne déclenchent no-
tamment aucune fonction inattendue.

Funzionamento
Con l’interfaccia del telecomando su volante
RCI-4A-VAN si può collegare tutta una serie
di autoradio e apparecchi di navigazione alle
autovetture Peugeot e Citroën (con bus dati
VAN).
Tutte le funzioni delle singole autoradio
si possono comandare a distanza.
L’interfaccia genera i seguenti segnali che rice-
ve dal telegramma di dati del bus di dati VAN.
• Morsetto 15 (Accensione motore / Positivo
• di comando)
• Speed (segnale di velocità per Gala)
• RFLS (Segnale della luce di retromarcia)
• Comandi RC (Vol+ / Vol- / Search up...)
Note sul montaggio
Prima di allacciare l’interfaccia vi preghiamo di
leggere attentamente quanto qui sotto riportato.
Per tutta la durata del montaggio e dell’allac-
ciamento il polo negativo deve rimanere stac-
cato dalla batteria.
Nel fare ciò rispettate le norme di sicurezza
indicate dal fabbricante d’auto (airbag, impianto
d’allarme, computer di bordo, immobilizzatori).
Nota:
Quando allacciate apparecchi radiophone-
(tipo Radio 3, vedasi pagina 17), dovete
scam-
biare tra di loro i cavi Pin 4 e Pin 7 (
!
,
vedasi
pagina 2).
A seconda del modello di autovettura si può
anche usare il corrispondente cavo di adat-
tamento.
Nel caso di apparecchi del tipo Radio 1 (

vedasi pagina 2) bisogna staccare il collega-
mento con il Pin 1 (Speed).
Prima di eseguire il montaggio controllate i
collegamenti coi punti di contatto in base
alle istruzioni d’uso della radio e del sistema di
navigazione.
Se necessario
• *** staccate o isolate i cavi, oppure
• *** allacciate i cavi, oppure
• *** cambiate i punti di attacco dei cavi.
Blaupunkt non si assume nessuna responsabi-
lità per le conseguenze dovute a controlli insuf-
ficienti della tecnica di allacciamento e delle
connessioni con i punti di contatto.

Sicurezza stradale
La sicurezza stradale ha priorità assoluta.
Utilizzate pertanto la vostra autoradio soltanto
quando la situazione del traffico stradale lo
permette.
Tenete conto del fatto che già ad una velocità
di 50 km/h percorrete in un secondo 14 m.
Sconsigliamo la regolazione dell’apparecchio
in situazioni critiche.
Deve essere garantito che si possano percepi-
re tempestiamente e con chiarezza i segnali di
avvertimento p. es. della polizia e dei vigili del
fuoco.
Durante il viaggio ascoltate pertanto il vostro
programma sempre ad un volume adeguato.
Al fine di garantire la sicurezza stradale per il
vostro veicolo anche dopo aver eseguito mon-
taggio e modifiche, accertatevi
• che funzionino alla perfezione, in corri-
spondenza delle istruzioni d’uso della vo-
stra autovettura, tutti i tasti e interruttori sul
volante e sul piantone dello sterzo, che non
sono installati per i comandi della radio e
del sistema di navigazione

Werking
De interface voor stuurwielafstandsbediening
RCI-4A-VAN verbindt een groot aantal autora-
dio’s en navigatieapparaten met auto’s van de
merken Peugeot of Citroën (met VAN-databus).
Alle functies die de desbetreffende autora-
dio ondersteunt, kunnen op afstand worden
bediend.
De interface wekt de volgende signalen op
vanuit het datatelegram van de VAN-databus.
• Klem 15 (contact / geschakelde plus)
• Snelheid (snelheidssignaal voor GALA)
• RFLS (signaal van het achteruitrijlicht)
•
RC-commando’s (Vol+ / Vol- / Search up...)
Wenken voor de inbouw
Voordat u de interface aansluit, dient u de vol-
gende wenken zorgvuldig te lezen.
Voor de duur van de montage en de aanslui-
ting moet de minpool van de accu worden
losgekoppeld.
Hierbij dienen de veiligheidsinstructies van de
autofabrikant (airbag, alarminstallaties, boord-
computer, startonderbreking) te worden opge-
volgd.
Let op:
Bij het aansluiten van Radiophone-apparaten
(radiotype 3, zie pagina 17), moeten de kabels
van pin 4 en pin 7 (
!
, zie pagina 2) worden
verwisseld.
Afhankelijk van het desbetreffende autotype
kan ook een adapterkabel worden gebruikt.
Bij apparaten van radiotype 1 (
!
, zie pagina
2) moet de aansluiting op pin 1 (snelheid)

worden verwijderd.
Controleer de bezetting van de contacten
voor het inbouwen aan de hand van de inbouw-
handleiding van de radio of de navigatie.
Indien nodig de leidingen:
• ***verwijderen en isoleren, of
• ***in de bus steken, of
• ***in een andere bus
Voor fouten als gevolg van onvoldoende con-
trole van de aansluittechniek en bezetting van
de contacten kan Blaupunkt geen aansprake-
lijkheid aanvaarden.

Verkeersveiligheid
De verkeersveiligheid gaat vóór alles. Gebruik
uw autoradio-installatie daarom altijd zodanig
dat u de actuele verkeerssituatie altijd het hoofd
kunt bieden.
Bedenk dat u bij een snelheid van 50 km/u in
één seconde al 14 m aflegt.
Wij raden u aan het apparaat in kritieke situa-
ties niet te bedienen.
De waarschuwingssignalen van bv. politie en
brandweer moeten in de auto tijdig en duidelijk
kunnen worden waargenomen.
Luister daarom tijdens het rijden altijd met een
gepast volume naar uw radioprogramma.
Om te garanderen dat uw auto ook inbouw- en
aanpassings-werkzaamheden veilig rijdt, dient
u te controleren of:
• alle toetsen en schakelaars op het stuur-
wiel en aan de stuurkolom die niet bedoeld
zijn voor de bediening van de radio en de
navigatie, nog functioneren volgens de ge-
bruiksaanwijzing van de auto en
• alle toetsen en schakelaars op het stuur-
wiel en aan de stuurkolom die bedoeld zijn
voor de bediening van de radio en de navi-
gatie, functioneren volgens deze gebruiks-
aanwijzing en in het bijzonder geen onver-
wachte functies in werking stellen.

Med hjälp av RCI-4A-VAN (ett rattmonterat
gränssnitt för fjärrstyrning) kan en lång rad
olika bilradioapparater och navigeringsenheter
kopplas ihop med fordon av märket Peugeot

Fjärrstyrningen kan kontrollera bilradions
samtliga funktioner.
Gränssnittet tar emot s.k. datatelegram från
databussen (VAN) och skapar sedan följande
signaler:
• klämma 15 (tändning / kopplad plus / igni-
• tion)
• fordonshastighet (signal ”speed” för hastig
• hetsrelaterad volymanpassning)
• backljussignal (RFLS)
• RC-kommandon (vol+/-, sökning upp/ned,
• ...)
Montering
Vänligen läs igenom följande anvisningar nog-
grant innan Du ansluter gränssnittet.
Under hela monteringen och anslutningen
ska batteriets minuspol vara lossad.
Fordonstillverkarens säkerhetsanvisningar ska
härvid iakttas (krockkudde, larm, färddator,
startspärr osv).
Observera:
Om apparater av typ Radiophone (radiotyp 3,
se sida 17) kopplas in, ska anslutningen av
ledarna till stift 4 och stift 7 (
!
, se sida 2)
kastas om.
Alternativt kan en (för fordonstypen lämplig)
adapterkabel användas.
Om apparater av radiotyp 1 (
!
, se sida 2)
kopplas in, ska anslutningen till stift 1 (speed)
brytas.
Innan gränssnittet monteras, ska alltid felfri
kontaktbeläggning kontrolleras med ledning
av bilradions resp. navigeringsenhetens mon-
teringsanvisning.
Vid behov ska ifrågavarande ledningar respek-
tivt och enligt figuren

Blaupunkt avvisar varje ansvar för fel eller

Trafiksäkerhet
Trafiksäkerheten måste alltid gå före allt an-
nat.
Använd därför bilradiosystemet endast på ett
sådant sätt att Du hela tiden har full kontroll
över ditt fordon och aktuell trafiksituation.
Tänk på att Du redan vid en hastighet av 50 km/
h tillryggalägger 14 meter på en sekund.
Använd inte bilradion i kritiska trafiksituationer.
Ljudsignaler från utryckningsfordon ska kunna
uppfattas inuti Ditt fordon på ett tydligt sätt och

Función
El interface para el mando a distancia del vo-
lante RCI-4A-VAN permite conectar gran nú-
mero de autorradios y equipos de navegación
a vehículos de la marca Peugeot o Citroën (con
bus de datos VAN).
Todas las funciones disponibles en la auto-
rradio se pueden manejar a distancia.
Las señales generadas por el interface proce-
dente del telegrama de datos del bus VAN son
las siguientes:
• Borne 15 (positivo de mando / ignición)
• Speed (señal de la velocidad para GALA)
• RFLS (señal de la luz de marcha atrás)
• Comandos RC (Vol+ / Vol- / Search up...)
Indicaciones para el montaje
Antes de conectar el interface, lea atentamen-
te las siguientes recomendaciones.
Desemborne el polo negativo de la batería
durante el montaje y la conexión del equipo.
Tenga también en cuenta las normas de segu-
ridad dadas por el fabricante del vehículo (air-
bag, sistemas de alarma, ordenador de a bor-
do, inmovilizador).

En caso de conectar algún radiófono (radio
tipo 3, v. pág. 17), cambiar los cables del pin
4 y pin 7 (

En algunos vehículos también es posible utili-
zar un cable adaptador.

sistema de navegación antes de comenzar con
el montaje.

Seguridad durante la conducción
¡La seguridad vial tiene prioridad absoluta!
Por eso, no maneje nunca el equipo de radio si
ello le hacer perder el control sobre la situación
momentánea del tráfico.
Tenga en cuenta que, si conduce a una veloci-
dad de 50 km/h, el vehículo recorre 14 m en un
segundo.
Le recomendamos no hacer uso del equipo en
situaciones críticas.
Las señales de alarma (p. ej. de la policía o de
los bomberos) han de poder escucharse a
tiempo dentro del vehículo.
Por lo tanto, seleccione un volumen moderado
cuando esté circulando.

O interface para telecomando de volante RCI-
4A-VAN foi concebido para a ligação de uma
grande variedade de auto-rádios e sistemas
de navegação aos automóveis Peugeot ou
Citroën (equipados com um bus de dados
VAN).

Conselhos para instalação
Antes de fazer a ligação do seu interface, leia

ção.
Para a montagem e ligação, corte primeiro
o contacto negativo da bateria.
Para tal, preste atenção aos avisos de segu-
rança do fabricante do seu veículo („airbag“,
sistemas de alarme, computador de bordo,
imobilizador do veículo).

Quando da ligação de radiofones (rádios que
integram um telefone, rádio tipo 3, ver página
17), os cabos do pino 4 e pino 7 (

ma.
Use o seu auto-rádio de tal forma que permita
dominar sempre a situação actual do trânsito.
Lembre-se que, a uma velocidade de 50 km/h,

Em situações críticas, aconselhamos prescin-
dir de uma manipulação do aparelho.
