FIRECLASS Panels Installation Notes -
CPU801 Processor Board
This leaflet provides step by step instruc-
tions on how to update the panel and trans-
fer configuration to the panel.
You need the firmware and site configura-
tion to be available on a USB stick (drive).
Create this using FIRECLASS Express, as
described in the FIRECLASS Express help.
Runtime Update
Use this mode for updating a pre-config-
ured panel. This mode could also be used
for updating a remote panel on the net-
work.
1 Insert the H3 link and USB drive while
the panel is running and login at an
appropriate level.
2 Select Main Menu | 7 – Service | 9 -
Panel Setup option.
3 Select the panel to update and press
ENTER.
4 Select the project which the panel
belongs to and press ENTER.
Follow the instructions on the screen including
confirming the update, removing the link and
restarting the panel.
Startup Mode
Use this mode for updating the node
address of the panel and loading the menus
in the local language. In order to use this
mode you need to have created a USB drive
with the Startup info for panel in FIRE-
CLASS Express. (For details, refer to the
FIRECLASS Express help file).
1 Ensure that the H3 link is fitted. Insert
the USB drive into the CPU801 board.
Press the reset button on the CPU
momentarily.
2 The panel will restart in Startup Mode. If
the panel starts in normal mode please
follow the instructions for “Runtime
Update”.
3 Press passcode. Enter USER ID 01 and
the PASSCODE that was used to create
the Startup info for the USB drive.
4 Select 1-USB Download option. In the
next display screen select the appropri-
ate project on the drive. Press ENTER to
select.
5 In the next screen select the appropriate
panel. This will download the contents
from the USB drive into the panel. It will
contain firmware or configuration or
both depending on the selection made
within FIRECLASS Express.
It is important to note the display mes-
sages and follow the prompts including
removing links and the USB drive and
restarting the panel.
Note
Only a configuration update of a net-
work panel is allowed. Only CPU801
remote panels can be updated using
this mode.
Note
The H3 link must be removed
before restarting the panel. Failure
to do so may boot the panel in
Startup Mode.

Rescue Mode
1 Use this mode if the panel fails to boot
and you have to rescue the panel by
reloading its firmware. Note that using
this mode will rewrite new firmware
into the panel. Insert the USB drive con-
taining the Startup info created using
the FIRECLASS Express.
2 Insert both the X501(service mode) link
and H3 link.
3 Press the reset button on the CPU
momentarily.
4 The panel will now load the firmware
from the USB drive into the panel and
boot into Startup Mode.
5 Follow instructions from item 3 in the
section headed ‘Startup Mode’ to load a
valid configuration.
Transfer Configuration
This operation requires a USB drive. This
drive needs to be prepared using the trans-
fer menu within FIRECLASS Express with
the appropriate firmware and configuration
files to be used to perform the update. For
additional details on Firmware transfer,
refer to the latest version of the FIRE-
CLASS Express help file.

Notas de instalación para las centrales de
incendios FIRECLASS - Placa base CPU801
En este folleto se proporcionan las instruccio-
nes, paso a paso, sobre cómo actualizar la cen-
tral y la configuración de transferencia a la cen-
tral.
El firmware y la configuración del emplaza-
miento deben haberse guardado previamente en
una memoria USB (unidad). Para ello, utilice
FIRECLASS Express y siga las instrucciones de
la ayuda de FIRECLASS Express.
Actualización del tiempo de
ejecución
Utilice este modo para actualizar las centrales de
incendios preconfiguradas. Este modo también
puede utilizarse para actualizar una central de
incendios remota de la red.
1 Inserte el enlace H3 y la memoria USB en la
central de incendios encendida e inicie sesión
con los derechos necesarios.
2 Seleccione el Menú principal | 7 – Servi-
cio | 9 - Config. central.
3 Seleccione la central de incendios que quiera
actualizar y pulse ENTER.
4 Seleccione el proyecto al cual pertenece la
central de incendios y pulse ENTER.
Siga las instrucciones de la pantalla, incluido con-
firmar la actualización, extraer el enlace y reini-
ciar la central de incendios.
Modo de arranque
Utilice este modo para actualizar la dirección del
nodo de la central de incendios y cargar los
menús en el idioma local. Para poder utilizar este
modo, primero debe haberse cargado la informa-
ción de arranque para la central de incendios en
una memoria USB utilizando FIRECLASS
Express. (Para más detalles, consultar la ayuda
de FIRECLASS Express).
1 Compruebe que el enlace H3 esté instalado.
Inserte la memoria USB en la placa CPU801.
Pulse brevemente el botón de reinicio de la
CPU.
2 La central de incendios se reiniciará en el
modo de arranque. Si la central de incendios
se pone en marcha en el modo normal, siga
las instrucciones de "Actualización del tiempo
de ejecución".
3 Pulse la contraseña. Introduzca USER ID 01 y
la CONTRASEÑA utilizada para crear la infor-
mación de arranque en la memoria USB.
4 Seleccione la opción 1- Descarga USB. En la
pantalla siguiente, seleccione el proyecto
correspondiente en la memoria. Pulse ENTER
para confirmar la selección.
5 En la pantalla siguiente, seleccione la central
de incendios pertinente. El contenido de la
memoria USB se descargará a la central de
incendios. Este contenido incluirá el fir-
mware, la configuración o ambos, depen-
diendo de lo que se haya seleccionado en
FIRECLASS Express.
Es importante leer los mensajes de la pantalla
y seguir las instrucciones, incluyendo la des-
conexión de los enlaces y la memoria USB, y
el reinicio de la central de incendios.
Modo de recuperación
1 Utilice este modo si la central de incendios no
rearranca correctamente y debe volverse a
cargar el firmware para recuperarla. Tenga
presente que este modo sobrescribirá el
nuevo firmware en la central de incendios.

2 Inserte el enlace X501 (modo de servicio) y el
enlace H3.
3 Pulse brevemente el botón de reinicio de la
CPU.
4 La central de incendios cargará el firmware de
la memoria USB y rearrancará en el modo de
arranque.
5 Siga las instrucciones del punto 3 de la sec-
ción "Modo de arranque" para cargar una con-
figuración válida.
Configuración de transfe-
rencia
Esta operación requiere una memoria USB. Esta
unidad debe prepararse utilizando el menú de
transferencia de FIRECLASS Express con los
archivos de firmware y configuración apropiados
que se van a utilizar para realizar la actualización.
Para conocer detalles adicionales sobre la trans-
ferencia del firmware, consultar la versión más
reciente de la ayuda de FIRECLASS Express.

CPU801
Il presente opuscolo fornisce istruzioni passo a
passo sul modo di aggiornare il pannello e di tra-
sferire la configurazione al pannello.
A tal fine, il firmware e la configurazione
dell'impianto devono essere disponibili su una
dispositivo USB (drive). Creare ciò utilizzando
FIRECLASS Express, come descritto nella guida
FIRECLASS Express.
Aggiornamento Runtime
Utilizzare questa modalità per aggiornare un pan-
nello preconfigurato. Questa modalità può
essere utilizzata anche per aggiornare un pan-
nello remoto all'interno della rete.
1 Inserire il link H3 e il drive USB con il pannello
in funzione ed effettuare il login a un livello
appropriato.
2 Selezionare l'opzione Menu principale | 7
– Assistenza | 9 - Config. pann.
3 Selezionare il pannello da aggiornare e pre-
mere INVIO.
4 Selezionare il progetto a cui appartiene il pan-
nello e premere INVIO.
Seguire le istruzioni sullo schermo, pertanto con-
fermare l'aggiornamento, rimuovere il link e riav-
viare il pannello.
Modalità Startup
Utilizzare questa modalità per aggiornare l'indi-
rizzo del nodo del pannello e caricare i menu nella
lingua locale. Per utilizzare questa modalità
occorre aver creato un drive USB con l'info star-
tup per il pannello in FIRECLASS Express. (Per
informazioni fare riferimento al file di guida di
FIRECLASS Express).
1 Verificare che il link H3 sia inserito. Inserire il
drive USB nella scheda CPU801. Premere
brevemente il pulsante reset sulla CPU.
2 Il pannello si riavvia in modalità Startup. Se il
pannello si avvia in modalità normale, seguire
le istruzioni per l'"Aggiornamento Runtime".
3 Premere il pulsante Password. Immettere
USER ID 01 e la PASSWORD utilizzata per
creare l'info startup per il drive USB.
4 Selezionare l'opzione 1-Download USB. Nella
schermata successiva selezionare il progetto
appropriato sul drive. Premere INVIO per
selezionarlo.
5 Nella schermata successiva selezionare il
pannello appropriato. Questo avvia il
download del contenuto dal drive USB nel
pannello. Questo comprende il firmware o la
configurazione o entrambi, a seconda della
selezione effettuata in FIRECLASS Express.
È importante osservare i messaggi sul display
e seguire i comandi, inclusi quello di rimuo-
vere i link e il drive USB e di riavviare il pan-
nello.
Modalità di ripristino
1 Utilizzare questa modalità se il pannello non
riesce a riavviarsi e occorre ripristinarlo ricari-
cando il firmware. Tenere presente che utiliz-
zando questa modalità il nuovo firmware
verrà sovrascritto nel pannello. Inserire il drive
USB contenente l'info startup creata con
FIRECLASS Express.
2 Inserire sia il link X501 (modalità di servizio)
sia il link H3.
Nota
È possibile effettuare un solo aggiorna-
mento della configurazione di un pan-
nello di rete. Solo i pannelli remoti
CPU801 possono essere aggiornati uti-
lizzando questa modalità.
Nota
Il link H3 deve essere rimosso prima di
riavviare il pannello. In caso contrario il
pannello potrebbe avviarsi in modalità
Startup.

3 Premere brevemente il pulsante reset sulla
CPU.
4 Il pannello carica il firmware dal drive USB nel
pannello e si avvia in modalità Startup.
5 Seguire le istruzioni dalla voce 3 nella sezione
intitolata "Modalità Startup" per caricare una
configurazione valida.
Trasferisci configurazione
Questa operazione richiede un drive USB. Que-
sto drive deve essere preparato utilizzando il
menu Trasferisci all'interno di FIRECLASS
Express con il firmware e i file di configurazione
appropriati da utilizzare per eseguire l'aggiorna-
mento. Per maggiori dettagli sul trasferimento
del firmware, fare riferimento all'ultima versione
della guida FIRECLASS Express.
