ICE 1

Nach dem für Versuchs- und Erprobungszwecke gebauten

Schnelltriebwagen „InterCityExperimental“ entwickelte die

deutsche Fahrzeug- und Elektroindustrie in kürzester Zeit

die Serienausführung „InterCityExpress“. Die Triebzüge mit

denBaureihenbezeichnungenBR401fürdieTriebköpfeund

BR801bisBR804fürdieunterschiedlichausgestattetenMit-

telwagen verkehren seit Juni 1991 im hochwertigen Schienen-

fernverkehr mit einer Spitzengeschwindigkeit von 280 km/h.

DerkompletteZugistmit14Mittelwagen410,7Meterlang

und bietet 192 Passagieren in der ersten und 567 Passagieren

in der zweiten Klasse Sitzplätze; dazu kommen insgesamt 40

Sitzplätze in den beiden Restaurants.

Jeder Triebkopf hat eine Leistung von 4.800 kW und wiegt

80,4 Tonnen; das Gesamtgewicht eines besetzten Zuges

beträgt 988 Tonnen. Um von 0 auf 100 km/h zu beschleuni-

gen,benötigtderZugeineMinuteundsechsSekunden;die

Reisegeschwindigkeit von 250 km/h ist nach sechs Minuten

und zwanzig Sekunden und rund 18 Kilometern Fahrtstrecke

erreicht.

Information about the Prototype

ICE 1

Followingthe“InterCityExperimental”high-speedturbotrain,

whichwasbuiltfortrialsandtestpurposes,theGermanau-

tomatical industries developed the series version of the “In-

terCityExpress” within an amazingly short time. The traction

vehicles,withtheseriesdesignationsBR401forthedriving

units and BR 801 to 804 for the different types of centre car-

riage,havebeenofferingahight-qualityrailservice,witha

topspeedof280km/h,sinceJune1991.

Thecompletetrain,with14centrecarriages,is410.7metres

long and offers its passengers 192 seats in the ﬁrst-class

compartments and 567 seats in the second class; these ﬁ-

gures do not include the 40 seats in the restaurant car.

Each driving unit delivers 4 800 kW and weighs 80.4 tons;

the total weight of an occupied train amounts to 988 tons.

The train requires one minute and six seconds to accelerate

from 0 to 100 km/h; it reaches its cruising speed of 250 km/h

aftersixminutesandtwentyseconds,coveringadistanceof

around 18 kilometres.

Après l’automotrice à grande vitesse «InterCity- Experimen-

tal» réalisée aux ns d’essais et de tests, l’industrie élec-

trique et de la construction de véhicules allemande a déve-

loppé très rapidement la version de série «InterCityExpress».

Les rames automotrices dont les voitures motrices portent

le numéro de série BR 401 et les remorques intermédiaires

offrant différents équipements les numéros de série BR 801 à

804 sont en service depuis juin 1991 et assurent le traﬁc fer-

roviaire longue distance de haute qualité avec une vitesse

de pointe pouvant atteindre 280 km/h.

Letraincomplet,d’unelongueurde410,7mètres,secom-

pose de 14 remorques intermédiaires et offre 192 places as-

sises en première classe et 567 en seconde classe. A cette

capacité viennent s’ajouter 40 places assises dans les deux

restaurants.

Chaque voiture motrice a une puissance de 4 800 kW et

pèse80,4tonnes.Lepoidstatald’untrainoccupéestde988

tonnes. Il faut au train une minute et six secondes pour pas-

ser de 0 à 100 km/h. La vitesse commerciale de 250 km/h est

atteinte en six minutes et vingt secondes et au bout d’environ

18 kilomètres.
