1.2 Centrale d’alimentazione CS2100
Il sistema per conferenze CS2100 consente la gestione automatica di un
massimo di 100 unità. Tutte le operazioni possono essere gestite tramite
l’unità di controllo CL2100-G e/o l’apposito software multilingua CS2100
Manager installato su di un PC collegato direttamente alla centrale
oppure tramite l’interfaccia CSIF2100. Le modalità di conferenza che può
gestire il sistema sono del tipo ‘MANUALE’, ‘AUTOMATICA’ ed ‘APERTA’. In
ogni momento della discussione, ogni partecipante che lo desideri potrà
prenotarsi all’intervento. In caso di modalità MANUALE ed AUTOMATICA,
l’abilitazione alla parola sarà data dall’operatore (manuale) o dalla scadenza
di un tempo preimpostato (automatica); le postazioni Delegato vengono
abilitate alla parola secondo l’ordine temporale delle prenotazioni accodate
in centrale.
1.1 Centrale d’alimentazione CS2080
Il sistema per conferenze CS2080 consente la gestione di una conferenza
“aperta” per un totale di 80 unità collegate. Le principali caratteristiche
tecniche e funzionali possono essere così riassunte:
• Uso delle postazioni Delegato B2080-DG e Presidente B2080-PG.
• Attivazione diretta delle postazioni, in modalità conferenza APERTA:
in questa modalità è possibile avere l’abilitazione contemporanea di
più postazioni microfoniche. In ogni momento della discussione, ogni
partecipante che lo desideri potrà abilitarsi all’intervento.
• Funzione di priorità del Presidente, con ammutolimento delle postazioni
Delegato.
• Ingresso per microfono di sala (microfono convenzionale su linea
bilanciata o sistema radiomicrofonico, opzionali).
• Ingresso per registratore od altre sorgenti sonore.
• Uscita per registratore.
• Uscita per amplificatore di potenza.
In fig. 1.1.1 è evidenziata la tipologia dell’impianto che ottimizza il numero
di connessioni verso la centrale. I posti appartenenti a ciascun gruppo
sono collegati in cascata tra loro, disponendo ogni base di un ingresso e
di un’uscita (26).
1.1 CS2080 power supply unit
The CS2080 conference system enables management of an “open”
conference for a total of 80 units connected to the system. The main
technical and functional specifications can be summarised as follows:
• Use of B2080-DG Delegate Stations and of the B2080-PG Chairperson
Station.
• Direct activation of the stations, in the OPEN conference mode. In this
mode it is possible for several microphone stations to be enabled at the
same time. At any time during the discussion, anyone wishing to enable
their station to speak may do so.
• Chairperson priority function with muting of the Delegate Stations.
• Input for audience microphone (conventional microphone on a balanced
line or wireless microphone system - optional).
• Input for tape recorder or other sources of sound.
• Output for tape recorder.
• Output for power amplifier.
Fig. 1.1.1 shows the type of system that optimises the number of
connections to the central unit. The stations belonging to each group are
cascade-connected to one another, and each base has one input and one
output (26).

1.2 CS2100 power supply unit
Th
e CS2100 conference system enables automatic management
of up to 100 units. All the operations can be managed by means of
the CL2100-G control unit and/or the specific CS2100 Manager
multilingual software installed on a PC connected directly to the central
unit or via the CSIF2100 interface. The conference modes managed
by the system are ‘MANUAL’, ‘AUTOMATIC’ and ‘OPEN’. Any participant
wishing to speak may queue to do so at any time during the discussion.
In the MANUAL or AUTOMATIC modes, permission to speak will be
given by the operator (manual mode) or following a pre-set timeout
(automatic mode). The Delegate Stations are enabled to speak in the
order in which they are queued through the central unit.

In an OPEN conference, all the stations are able to speak at the same
time.
The Chairperson Station, in particular, can join in the Delegates’ discussion
with the ‘Conversation’ function, or may activate the ‘Priority’ function, which
places all the active stations on hold until the key is released.
The system can manage open voting or secret ballots With the PC software
it is also possible to manage a list of participants, to print a report on the
voting sessions and to record the order of contributions, the voting, the
items up for discussion and those voted on in a database. The figure 1.2.1
illustrates the typical configuration of the system.
In conferenza APERTA, tutte le postazioni hanno la possibilità di parola in
contemporanea.
La postazione Presidente, in particolare, può inserirsi nel dibattito in
contemporanea ai Delegati con la funzione ‘Conversation’ oppure attivare
la funzione ‘Priority’, con la quale mette in attesa tutte le postazioni attivate
fino al rilascio della priorità. Il sistema ha la possibilità di gestire le votazioni
in modo palese o segreto; con il software per PC è possibile gestire anche
l’anagrafica dei partecipanti, stampare il report delle votazioni e registrare
su database la cronologia degli interventi, delle votazioni e degli argomenti
di discussione e di voto. Nella figura 1.2.1 è illustrata la configurazione
tipica del sistema.

Le principali caratteristiche tecniche e funzionali del sistema CS2100
possono essere così riassunte:
• Uso delle postazioni Delegato con voto B2100-DG, Presidente B2100-PG
e Segretario*.
• Gestione di un massimo di 2 postazioni Presidente.
• Gestione di un massimo di 98 postazioni Delegato (con e senza voto).
• Numero massimo complessivo di postazioni utilizzabili - comprensivo di
Segretario - pari a 100.
• Connessione dedicata per il collegamento diretto a PC.
• Possibilità di collegare fino ad un massimo di 4 tabelloni CT2001.
• Controlli di livello separati ed indipendenti per il segnale proveniente
dalle unità, per l’ingresso ‘TAPE’ e per l’ingresso ‘MIC/AUX’ IN.
• Doppie prese phono ‘IN’ e ‘OUT’ (10) per la connessione di un
registratore con cui verbalizzare e riascoltare le discussioni.

be summarised as follows:

• Ingresso ‘MIC’/‘AUX IN’ (11) per il collegamento di sorgenti aggiuntive
quali microfono a filo, ricevitore radiomicrofonico od altre sorgenti sonore.
L’ingresso è disponibile su due differenti prese: tipo XLR (MIC) bilanciata
con sensibilità microfonica e doppia presa phono (AUX IN) con sensibilità
ausiliaria. Nel caso di uso contemporaneo delle prese, occorre tenere in
debito conto che, in ogni caso, il controllo di livello MICRO/AUX (1) è
unico ed agisce sulla miscelazione dei segnali presenti sulle due prese.
• Possibilità di inserimento dell’alimentazione phantom a 12 V sulla presa
‘MIC’.
• Presa d’uscita ‘BOOSTER OUT’ (9) a cui collegare unità di potenza per
la diffusione sonora di sala.
• Gestione delle modalità di conferenza:
- conferenza Automatica: per partecipare alla discussione, il Delegato
può prenotarsi all’intervento e la centrale inserisce la richiesta nella coda
delle prenotazioni. Il tempo di intervento è gestito in modo automatico
dalla centrale secondo tempi preimpostati tramite l’unità CL2100-G
oppure tramite il PC (da 1 a 20 minuti).
- conferenza Manuale: le caratteristiche sono analoghe alle precedenti,
con la differenza che il tempo di intervento è gestito in modo manuale

of sound. The input is available on two different sockets: an XLR
(MIC) balanced input with microphone sensitivity and a dual phono
(AUX IN) socket with auxiliary sensitivity. If both sockets are used
at the same time, it should be taken into account that there is a
single MICRO/AUX level control (1) that operates on the mixing of
the signals present on the two sockets.

For open conferences, a list of active speakers replaces that of
those queued to speak. Controls are also available for changing the
conference mode, for going on to the next speaker, to delete a speaker
from the list of those queued to speak, for calling a Delegate directly,
for resetting the conference parameters and for changing the speaking
time during automatic conferences.
• Editing of the information concerning the participants (consisting of
three fields: last name, first name and group).
• The contribution timeout for automatic conferences can be set at
between 1 and 20 minutes.
• Roll-call function for recognition of attendances, shown on the screen,

different screen page showing a list of the participants, the lists of
votes cast – For/Against/Abstentions (in case of Open voting), the
list of voters (in the case of Secret Votes), the numerical summary
and a box for closing automatically the voting session with timer. This
information is up-dated in real time during open voting sessions. There
are also buttons for changing the conference mode, for opening and
closing the voting sessions, for changing the voting mode (Open/
Secret), for activating automatic closing and setting the associated
timeout and for editing the quorum and the formula for calculating

2.2 Note di sicurezza
Ogni intervento all’interno degli apparecchi, quale la selezione di alcuni
modi d’uso, l’applicazione di accessori o la sostituzione di fusibili,
deve essere effettuato solo da personale specializzato: la rimozione
del coperchio rende accessibili parti con rischio di scosse elettriche.
Prima di rimuovere il coperchio accertarsi sempre che il cavo di rete
sia staccato.
Nel caso di accidentale caduta di liquidi sugli apparecchi, staccare
immediatamente la spina di rete ed interpellare il centro di assistenza
PASO più vicino. Evitare di racchiudere gli apparecchi in mobili privi di
aerazione o di ostruirne le fessure di ventilazione.
2. AVVERTENZE
2.1 Alimentazione e messa a terra
Le centrali CS2080 e CS2100 sono predisposte per il funzionamento
con tensione di rete a 230 V ± 10% 50/60 Hz e protette da fusibili:
consultare la sezione 6 ‘Note di servizio’ per la loro eventuale sostituzione.
Gli apparecchi sono corredati di cavo di alimentazione con filo di terra ed
il relativo terminale sulla spina di rete non deve essere rimosso in alcun
caso. Assicurarsi che la presa di corrente sia dotata di collegamento di
terra a norma di legge.
2.2 Safety notes
Only specialised personnel should carry out any activities inside
the equipment, such as selection of some operating modes, the
application of accessories or the replacement of fuses. Opening the
cover makes parts that could cause an electric shock accessible. Before
removing the cover, always make sure that the power cable has been
disconnected.
If any liquid is accidentally spilt onto the equipment, unplug it immediately
from the power outlet and contact your nearest PASO Service Centre. Do
not install the equipment inside closed cabinets without ventilation and do
not obstruct the ventilation louvers.
2. PRECAUTIONS
2.1 Power supply and connection to earth
The CS2080 and CS2100 central units are intended to run on a mains
voltage of 230 V ± 10% 50/60 Hz protected by fuses. Consult Section 6
‘Service Notes’ if it is necessary to replace the fuses. The equipment is
supplied with a power cable with an earth wire and its terminal on the plug
should not be removed under any circumstances. Make sure that the power
outlet is connected to earth in accordance with the law.

3. CONNESSIONI
Prima dell’accensione assicurarsi che tutti i collegamenti all’unità centrale,
compresi quelli relativi ai segnali audio in ingresso o in uscita da essa, e tutte
le interconnessioni tra le varie postazioni microfoniche siano correttamente
effettuate. Non connettere o disconnettere le postazioni microfoniche ad
impianto acceso. Inoltre, per un corretto funzionamento dell’apparecchio
è opportuno osservare alcuni criteri di massima nell’esecuzione dei
collegamenti:
- evitare il posizionamento di cavi e di microfoni sul mobile.
- evitare di stendere le linee di segnale parallele a quelle di rete; osservare
una distanza minima di 30/40 cm.
- posizionare le linee d’ ingresso e le linee di uscita distanti tra loro.
- posizionare i microfoni al di fuori dell’angolo di radiazione dei diffusori
sonori per evitare il fenomeno di reazione acustica (effetto Larsen).
Le connessioni tra i vari posti microfonici e tra questi e la centrale sono
realizzabili tramite i cavi di collegamento Paso cod. CV2002 (lunghezza
2m), CV2005 (lunghezza 5m) e cod. CV2010 (lunghezza 10m). Per la
realizzazione di cavi di lunghezza diversa da quelle indicate è disponibile, a
richiesta, il solo cavo (vedi lista accessori). Tutti i connettori dei cavi e delle
varie unità dei sistemi di conferenza CS2080 e CS2100 sono di tipo RJ45
schermati ed i cavi di collegamento di tipo CAT. 5E SF/UTP (nella sezione
6 ‘Note di servizio’ è riportata la realizzazione elettrica dei cavi allo scopo
di rendere possibile l’assemblaggio di cavi di lunghezza desiderata).
ATTENZIONE:
- Non connettere o disconnettere le postazioni microfoniche, l’unità di
controllo o il tabellone luminoso ad impianto acceso.
- Per un corretto funzionamento dell’impianto controllare che la lunghezza
complessiva di ogni linea di unità non superi i 100 m.
3. CONNECTIONS
Before switching on the equipment, make sure that all the connections to the
central unit, including those for the audio input signals or the output signals
from the unit and all the connections between the various microphone
stations have been made correctly. Do not connect or disconnect the
microphone stations with the system switched on. Furthermore, in order
to ensure correct functioning of the equipment, it is advisable to follow a
number of general criteria when making the connections:
- Do not place cables or microphones on the unit cabinet.
- Do not lay signal lines parallel to power lines. Ensure a minimum distance
of 30/40 cm between them.
- Keep input lines and the output lines far apart.
- the microphones outside the operating span of the speakers to avoid
acoustic feedback (Larsen effect).
The connections between the various microphones and the main station
can be made with Paso cod. CV2002 (length 2m), CV2005 (length 5m)
and cod. CV2010 (length 10m). For implementing cabling having lengths
other than those indicated, single cables are available on request (see list of
accessories). TAll the connectors on the cables and on the various different
units of the CS2080 and CS2100 conference systems are of the shielded
RJ45 type and the connecting cables are Cat. 5E SF/UTP (the wiring of
the cables is illustrated in Section 6 ‘Service Notes’ to enable cables of the
required length to be assembled).
WARNING:
- Never connect or disconnect the microphone stations, the control unit
or the illuminated panel while the system is switched on.
- For correct operation of the system, do not exceed the total length of
100 m for line of units, with lines of 50m for each group of units.
3.1 Composizione dei sistemi CS2080 e CS2100
Alla centrale CS2080 è possibile collegare, alle apposite prese (8) fino ad
un numero massimo complessivo di 79 postazioni microfoniche B2080-DG
ed 1 postazione B2080-PG.
Alla centrale CS2100 è possibile collegare, alle apposite prese (8) fino
ad un numero massimo complessivo di 100 postazioni microfoniche del
tipo seguente:
• postazioni Delegato con voto B2100-DG (max 98)
• postazioni Presidente con voto B2100-PG (max 2)
• postazioni Segretario/Delegato senza voto* (fino al
raggiungimento del numero massimo complessivo di 100 postazioni).
É inoltre possibile inserire un numero massimo di 4 unità di controllo:
• unità di controllo remoto con display CL2100-G.
• interfaccia PC CSIF2100 (per controllo tramite software CS2100
Manager).
Infine, è possibile collegare fino ad un massimo di 4 tabelloni di sala
CT2001.
Tutte le unità sono dotate di due connettori IN/OUT e devono essere
collegate in cascata alla rispettiva centrale senza vincoli di posizionamento*.
Nelle figura 3.1.1 è illustrato un esempio di impianto.
* Importante
Gli unici vincoli da rispettare nella realizzazione dell’impianto sono i
seguenti:
1. ad ogni linea possono essere collegate in cascata un massimo di 20
unità.
2. la massima lunghezza consentita per ogni linea (dalla presa di centrale
all’ultima unità connessa) è 100 m.
3.1 Composition of the CS2080 and CS2100 systems
It is possible to connect up to a maximum of 79 B2080-DG and 1 B2080-PG

Each unit has two IN/OUT connectors. The units have to be connected
in cascade formation to their respective central units with no positioning
limitations
*. An example of system is shown in Fig. 3.1.1.

The only constraints to be observed in planning the system are the
following:
1. A maximum of 20 units can be cascade connected to each line.
2. The maximum length permitted for each line (from the socket on the
central unit to the last unit connected to it) is 100 metres.

3.2 Collegamento al PC (solo CS2100)
Il connettore ‘PC’ (12) può essere utilizzato per collegare direttamente la
centrale d’alimentazione al personal computer.
1. Inserire la chiave hardware fornita in dotazione col software nel
connettore seriale del PC.
2. Collegare la chiave al connettore ‘PC’ della centrale d’alimentazione
tramite il cavo illustrato nella sezione 6 “Note di servizio”.
3.3 Collegamenti audio di centrale
• Ingresso microfonico/ausiliario
Questo ingresso è disponibile tramite la presa ‘MIC’ (11) per segnali
bilanciati a basso livello (quali microfoni dinamici a filo) oppure tramite le
prese phono ‘AUX IN’ per segnali di tipo sbilanciato a livello ausiliario. É
consentito anche l’uso contemporaneo delle prese, tenendo in debito conto
che, comunque, il controllo di livello frontale ‘MICRO/AUX’ (1) agisce SOLO
sulla miscelazione delle due sorgenti applicate. All’ingresso ‘MIC’ è possibile
disporre dell’alimentazione phantom a 12 V.
Per selezionare tale alimentazione è necessario porre il ponticello
cortocircuitante in posizione ‘ON’ come illustrato in fig. 3.3.1; in posizione
‘OFF’ tale alimentazione risulta essere rimossa.

• Uscita per amplificatore di potenza
Alla presa XLR ‘BOOSTER OUT’ (9) è possibile collegare l’ingresso bilanciato
di un amplificatore di potenza per poter amplificare e diffondere, ad
esempio, alla platea di una sala consiliare, il segnale audio derivato dalla
miscelazione del segnale proveniente dalle postazioni microfoniche,
dall’ingresso ‘MICRO/AUX’ (1), dall’ingresso ausiliario e dall’ingresso ‘TAPE
IN’ (10). In fig. 3.3.2b sono riportati i collegamenti a questa presa.
3.4 Collegamento cuffia delle postazioni
Sul pannellino posteriore di ogni postazione microfonica è disponibile una
presa jack (3,5 mm) (27) per il collegamento di un auricolare o di una
cuffia, del tipo a bassa impedenza, per l’ascolto individuale. L’inserimento
del jack nella presa determina l’esclusione dell’altoparlante interno (20); la
regolazione del livello di ascolto avviene per mezzo dell’apposito controllo
(23) posto sul pannello frontale della base.
3.2 Connection to a PC (CS2100 only)
The ‘PC’ connector (12) can be used to connect the central power-supply
unit directly to a PC.
1. Insert the hardware key supplied with the software into the serial
connector on the PC.
2. Connect the key to the ‘PC’ connector of the power-supply central unit
by means of the cable illustrated in Section 6 “Service Notes”.
3.3 Audio connections of the central unit
• Microphone/auxiliary input
This input is available via the ‘MIC’ (11) socket for balanced low signals
(such as wired dynamic microphones) or via the ‘AUX IN’ phono sockets
for unbalanced auxiliary signals. Simultaneous use of the sockets is also
permitted, taking into account that in any case the front-panel ‘MICRO/
AUX’ level control (1) affects ONLY the mixed signal of the two sources
applied to them. It is possible to use the 12V phantom power supply on
the ‘MIC’ input.
To select this power supply, it is necessary to place the short-circuiting
jumper in position ‘ON’, as shown in Fig. 3.3.1. In position ‘OFF’ the
phantom power supply is not available.
• Recorder input/output
It is possible to connect the output of a recorder to the double phono ‘IN
’ socket (10) so as to play back previously recorded conferences. As
an alternative it is possible to connect any source of music (CD player,
tuner, wireless microphone receiver, etc.) to it. The front ‘TAPE’ control (2)
enables the adjustment of the level of the signal applied to this input.
By means of the double phono ‘OUT ’ socket it is possible to pick up the
audio signal originating from the mixing of the signal from the microphone
stations and from the ‘MICRO/AUX’ (1) input, in order to record it if required.
Fig. 3.3.2a shows the connections to these sockets.
• Output for power amplifier
It is possible to connect the balanced input of a power amplifier to the
XLR ‘BOOSTER OUT’ socket (9) in order to amplify and broadcast the
audio signal resulting from the mixing of the signals from the microphone
stations, from the ‘MICRO/AUX’ (1) input, from the AUX input and from
the ‘TAPE IN’ (10) input, for example to the audience of a board meeting.
The connections to this socket are illustrated in Fig. 3.3.2b.
3.4 Connection of stations headsets
There is a jack type outlet (3.5 mm) (27) on the small rear panel of each
microphone station, for connecting an earphone or headphone of the
low-impedance type, for individual listening. Inserting the jack into the
outlet causes the internal loudspeaker (20) to be excluded. The volume
can be adjusted by means of the appropriate control (23) located on the
front panel of the base.

Ogni posto microfonico possiede un altoparlante (20) per seguire con
comodità l’intervento dei vari oratori oppure per ascoltare le eventuali
sorgenti sonore collegate alla centrale d’alimentazione. É possibile che
durante
la conferenza si crei un innesco (fischio acuto e persistente)
tra i microfoni aperti e gli altoparlanti delle postazioni microfoniche o
dell’impianto di amplificazione della sala. Questo fenomeno, comunemente
detto di retroazione elettroacustica, o più comunemente: ‘effetto Larsen’,
si verifica se il volume degli altoparlanti delle postazioni adiacenti a quella
abilitata alla conversazione, o dell’impianto d’amplificazione, è troppo
elevato. Per rimediare a questo inconveniente è sufficiente allontanare
tra di loro le postazioni microfoniche o, più semplicemente, ridurre il
livello sonoro di ascolto. Ogni microfono è dotato di una cuffietta di
protezione antivento che non deve mai essere rimossa pena una sensibile
riduzione della qualità sonora. Non maneggiare il microfono, o lo stelo
flessibile, durante la conversazione; parlare in modo normale cercando di
mantenere, con regolarità, una distanza di poche decine di centimetri tra
la bocca e la spugna di protezione. Per una buona intelliggibilità del parlato
si consiglia di non urlare nel microfono ne di avvicinare eccessivamente
la bocca al microfono. Tutte le postazioni microfoniche dispongono di
una segnalazione luminosa posta alla base del microfono, che si illumina
durante l’abilitazione alla conversazione.
4. USO DEL SISTEMA CS2080 (DISCUSSIONE)
4.1 Accensione della centrale
Premere il tasto ‘POWER’ (4) sul pannello frontale della centrale
d’alimentazione. Da questo momento, la conferenza è aperta.
4.2 Intervento del Delegato
Per intervenire nella discussione, premere il tasto ‘SPEAKING REQUEST’ (21)
sulla postazione B2080-DG. L’abilitazione viene segnalata dall’accensione
della spia verde a lato del tasto e della ghiera luminosa del microfono, che
invitano a parlare.
In caso di intervento prioritario da parte della postazione Presidente, i Delegati
abilitati saranno disabilitati; il led della postazione, contemporaneamente
alla gemma del flessibile microfonico, si spegnerà.
4.3 Intervento del Presidente
Premendo sul tasto ‘CONV.’ (22) sulla postazione B2080-PG, il Presidente
può intervenire in contemporanea ai Delegati aventi parola; la spia verde
a lato del tasto e la ghiera luminosa del microfono accese confermano
l’intervento.
Premendo il tasto ‘PTY’, il Presidente può intervenire togliendo la parola ai
Delegati abilitati; la spia a lato del tasto diventa di colore rosso a conferma
dell’intervento. Il Presidente potrà ridare la parola ai Delegati premendo
nuovamente il tasto ‘PTY’.
5. USO DEL SISTEMA CS2100 (DISCUSSIONE/VOTAZIONE)
5.1 Accensione ed uso della centrale con unità CL2100-G
Premere il tasto ‘POWER’ (4) sull’unità centrale. All’accensione
dell’apparecchio, sul display della console CL2100-G apparirà la condizione
iniziale dell’ultimo modo di conferenza selezionato al momento dello
spegnimento.
• Impostazioni
Nel caso di prima accensione, è necessario effettuare alcune impostazioni
preliminari di seguito riassunte:
Le unità di controllo (CL2100-G e CSIF2100 per un massimo
complessivo di 4) devono essere indirizzate a partire da 101 fino
a 104, ognuna con differente indirizzo.
Per assegnare un indirizzo ad un’unità CL2100-G, premere il tasto MENU
seguito dal tasto numerico 3 (opzione SERV) e, quando richiesto, digitare
la password 39 confermando poi con la pressione del tasto OK.
Selezionare quindi l’opzione 1 e digitare l’indirizzo che si vuole assegnare
all’unità di controllo CL2100-G (scegliere un numero tra 101 e 104
compresi); confermare con il tasto OK. La corretta assegnazione
dell’indirizzo viene confermata dall’apparire della scritta STORED per
qualche istante sul display. Nel caso venga invece digitato un indirizzo
non valido, il display riproporrà il primo numero utile.
Each microphone has a loudspeaker (20) to follow the speaches made
by the various colleagues easily or to listen to the various sound sources
connected to the main station.
It is possible that a triggering effect (persistent high whistle) may be
created between the open microphones and the loudspeakers of the
microphone stations or of the amplification system of the hall.
This is commonly known as electroacoustic feedback or ‘Larsen effect’,
and it occurs if the volume of the loudspeakers of the stations next to
the one enabled to speak or those of the amplification system is too
loud. To mend this inconvenience, it’s enough to space the basis or,
more easily, to turn down the volume. Each microphone is provided
with a spongy wind-screen cap that must not be removed not to spoil
the quality of the sound.
Don’t handle the microphone or the flexible during the speech; speak
normally leaving a distance of ten centimeters between the mouth and
the sponge. To grant a good intelligibility of the speech, it’s advisable not
to shout either to bring the mouth nearer to the microphone.
Each of the microphone stations has a signalling lamp, located at the base
of the microphone, that lights up when conversation is being enabled.
4. USING THE CS2080 SYSTEM (DISCUSSION)
4.1 Switching on the central unit
Press the ‘POWER’ button (4) on the front panel of the central power supply
unit. The conference is now open.
4.2 Delegate’s contribution
To contribute to the discussion, press the ‘SPEAKING REQUEST’ button
(21) on the B2080-DG station. The green signalling lamp next to the key
and the ring on the microphone light up to indicate that the microphone
has been enabled and that it is possible to speak.
When the Chairman Station uses the priority function to speak, the enabled
Delegate Stations will be disabled. The LED on the station and the lamp
on the microphone gooseneck will extinguish.
4.3 Chairman’s contribution
By pressing the ‘CONV.’ key (22) on the B2080-PG station, the Chairman
can speak at the same time as the Delegates enabled to speak. The green
LED next to the key and the ring on the microphone light up to confirm
the conversation.
By pressing the ‘PTY’ key, the Chairman can take the floor, interrupting
the Delegates who are enabled. The lamp next to the key will be red to
confirm this action. The Chairman can allow the Delegates to resume by
pressing the ‘PTY’ key again.
5. USING THE CS2100 SYSTEM (DISCUSSION/VOTATION)
5.1 Switching on and use of central unit with CL2100-G
Press the ‘POWER’ button (4) on the central unit.
When the equipment is switched on, the initial condition of the last
conference mode selected at the time of switching off will appear on the
display of the CL2100-G console.
• Settings
When the system is switched on for the first time, it is necessary to carry
out some preliminary settings, as summarised below:
The control units (CL2100-G and CSIF2100 for a total number
of 4 maximum) must be addressed starting from 101 till to 104;
everyone with a different address.
In order to set the CL2100-G address, press the MENU key and then
numerical key 3 (SERV option). Following the prompt, enter the password,
39, and then press OK.
Now select option 1 and enter the address to be assigned to the CL2100-
G control unit (choose a number from 101 to 104) and press OK to
confirm your choice. Correct assignment of the address is confirmed by
the word STORED appearing on the display for a few seconds.
If an invalid address is entered, the display will show the first possible
number.

• Selezione della lingua (CL2100-G)

5.2 Uso di postazioni microfoniche senza voto
Nel sistema CS2100 è possibile inserire delle postazioni microfoniche senza
la funzione di voto utilizzando le unità B2080-DG.
Questa postazione può funzionare in due modalità:
Mod. Segretario: può intervenire in qualsiasi momento tramite il tasto
SPEAKING REQUEST senza inserirsi nella coda; può essere ammutolita
solo dalla funzione PTY del/i Presidente/i.
Mod. Delegato: è soggetta al funzionamento come le altre postazioni
Delegato a seconda del tipo di conferenza impostata.
L’impostazione di fabbrica prevede la mod. DELEGATO: per modificare
questa impostazione, collegare la B2080-DG alla centrale CS2100
spenta, mantenere premuto il tasto SPEAKING REQUEST ed accendere
la centrale. La colorazione del led sulla postazione definisce la modalità di
funzionamento prescelta:
• colore ROSSO = Segretario
• colore VERDE = Delegato
5.3 Indirizzamento del sistema
Una volta completate le impostazioni sopra riportate, è necessario passare
all’indirizzamento di tutte le postazioni microfoniche; questa procedura
può essere eseguita sia tramite l’unità di controllo CL2100-G che tramite il
software CS2100 Manager. In caso si utilizzi l’unità CL2100-G, procedere
come segue
:
- Premere il tasto MENU seguito dal tasto numerico 3 (opzione SERV)
e, quando richiesto, digitare la password 39 confermando poi con la
pressione del tasto OK.
- selezionare quindi l’opzione 2 (opzione ALL) e confermare con il tasto
OK: il sistema entra così in fase di acquisiszione e tutti i led delle
postazioni collegate lammpeggiano.
- premere i pulsanti SPEAKING REQUEST (sulle postazioni Delegato) e
CONV. (sulla/e postazione/i Presidente): gli indirizzi verranno assegnati
progressivamente a seguito della pressione del tasto, a partire dal n°1
per i Delegati e dal n°99 per i Presidenti.
Non vi sono vincoli di nessun genere che siano legati al posizionamento
fisico delle postazioni nell’ambito dell’impianto; quando l’indirizzo è
acquisito, il led si illumina in modo fisso. Una volta che tutte le postazioni
sono state indirizzate, premere il tasto CANC sulla CL2100-G: i led si
spengono, il sistema si porta sull’ultima modalità selezionata ed è pronto
all’uso.
• Language selection (CL2100-G)
Press the MENU key followed by numerical key 4 (LANG option) and
enter the number corresponding to the language of your choice.
• CT2001 Hall display
Before powering up the display panel, select the language by means of
the dip-switch (31) provided for this purpose:
• OFF position = ITALIAN
• ON position = ENGLISH
5.3 System addressing
Once the settings described above have been completed, proceed
to address all the microphone stations. This procedure can be
carried out either via the CL2100-G control unit or using the CS2100
Manager software. If you use the CL2100-G unit, proceed as follows:
- Press the MENU key followed by numerical key 3 (SERV option).
When prompted, enter the password, 39, followed by OK to confirm it.
- Select option 2 (ALL option) and press OK to confirm. The system will
enter the acquisition system and the LEDs of all the stations connected
to it will flash.
- Press the SPEAKING REQUEST keys (on the Delegate Stations) and
the CONV. Keys (on the Chairperson Station(s)). The addresses will be
assigned progressively when each key is pressed, starting from n°1 for
the Delegates and up to n°99 for the Chairpersons.
There are no constraints of any kind as far as concerns the physical
positions of the stations within the system. When the address has been
acquired, the LED on each station will remain steady ON. Once all the
stations have been addressed, press the CANC key on the CL2100-G: the
LEDs’ will extinguish and the system will go into the last mode selected,
ready for use.
5.2 Using microphone stations without voting rights
It is possible to include microphone stations with no voting function in the
CS2100 system using B2080-DG units.
This station can function according to two different modes:
Secretary mode: the Secretary can speak at any time by pressing the
SPEAKING REQUEST key, jumping the queue. The Secretary can only be
muted by the Chairperson’s PTY function.
Delegate mode: like the other Delegate Stations, operation depends on
the type of conference that has been selected.
The factory setting is in the DELEGATE mode. To change this setting,
connect the B2080-DG to the CS2100 before switching it on, hold
down the SPEAKING REQUEST key, then switch on the central unit.
The colour of the LED on the station defines the chosen operating
mode:
• RED = Secretary
• GREEN = Delegate
In caso si utilizzi il software CS2100 Manager, fare riferimento alla voce
di menu “Help” per l’accesso alla fase di indirizzamento, effettuare le
operazioni appena descritte sulle postazioni microfonicùhe e quindi
terminare la procedura chiudendo l’indirizzamento come indicato nel file
di guida utente.

item for accessing the addressing phase. Carry out the steps described

5.4 Controllo del Sistema
Il sistema CS2100 può essere controllato indifferentemente sia dall’unità
di controllo CL2100-G che da un pc dotato di software CS2100 Manager.
Ogni comando sviluppato da una di queste unità avrà rispondenza diretta
sulla visualizzazione delle altre.
L’unica funzione gestibile solo da pc è l’APPELLO; quando, tramite sof-
tware, si apre una fase di appello, le unità CL2100-G collegate restano
bloccate fino all’ultimazione della procedura.
Per le operazioni di gestione di conferenza e votazione tramite pc, fare
riferimento all’Help del software. Di seguito, vengono descritte le procedure
per la gestione del sistema tramite unità di controllo CL2100-G.
• Selezione del tipo di conferenza
Premere il tasto CONF e selezionare il tipo di conferenza desiderato con
il tastierino numerico:
• tasto 1 = conferenza AUTOMATICA
• tasto 2 = conferenza MANUALE
• tasto 3 = conferenza APERTA
A seconda della modalità di conferenza selezionata, è possibile eseguire
alcune operazioni specifiche:
Conferenza AUTOMATICA
All’attivazione di questa modalità, la conferenza risulta disattiva,
consentendo comunque la formazione di una coda di prenotazioni. Per
attivare la conferenza, premere il tasto NEXT: il primo Delegato della
coda viene abilitato alla parola e sul display della CL2100-G appariranno
l’indirizzo dell’oratore abilitato, del prossimo in coda ed il numero di oratori
in attesa. Le stesse indicazioni saranno riportate sul tabellone luminoso.
Sul diplay viene inoltre visualizzato il tempo d’intervento rimanente;
gli ultimi 30 secondi a disposizione dell’oratore vengono segnalati dal
lampeggio di ghiera e led sulla postazione attiva, del led sulla postazione
prossima all’intervento e dalle indicazioni sul tabellone luminoso. Il
passaggio da un oratore al successivo avviene in modo automatico allo
scadere del tempo; tuttavia, premendo il tasto NEXT, è possibile anticipare
il termine dell’intervento riducendolo agli ultimi 30 secondi.
In caso di un intervento prioritario da parte del/i Presidente/i, l’oratore
verrà momentaneamente messo in coda ed il suo tempo residuo congelato.
Durante la conferenza, è possibile attivare dalla CL2100-G una qualsiasi
postazione microfonica, digitandone l’indirizzo sul tastierino numerico e
confermando con il tasto OK; se la postazione richiamata è nella coda,
viene immediatamente eliminata dalla lista delle prenotazioni.
É possibile effettuare più attivazioni in sequenza, con relativo annullamento
della precedente. Se desiderato, è possibile impostare un nuovo tempo di
intervento; per fare ciò, premere il tasto MENU seguito dal tasto 1, digitare
il tempo (un valore tra 1 e 20 minuti) e confermare con il tasto OK.
Se la digitazione è corretta, sul display apparirà la conferma “Tempo
automatico memorizzato” ed il nuovo tempo impostato avrà efficacia
immediata.
In qualsiasi istante è possibile cancellare tutti i parametri della conferenza
(coda, oratore attivo) tramite la pressione del tasto CANC.
Conferenza MANUALE
All’attivazione della modalità la conferenza risulta disattiva, consentendo
comunque la formazione di una coda di prenotazioni. Per attivare la
conferenza, premere il tasto NEXT: il primo Delegato della coda viene
abilitato alla parola e sul display della CL2100-G appariranno l’indirizzo
dell’oratore abilitato, del prossimo in coda ed il numero di oratori in attesa.
Le stesse indicazioni saranno riportate sul tabellone luminoso.
Per questa modalità di conferenza sono valide le indicazioni riportate per la
modalità automatica, ad esclusione del tempo d’intervento: in conferenza
MANUALE infatti, la gestione di questo parametro è completamente a
discrezione del/i Presidente/i, che potrà fissare inizio e fine dei singoli
interventi dei Delegati premendo il tasto NEXT sull’unità di controllo
CL2100.
IMPORTANTE
Quando si passa da conferenza AUTOMATICA o MANUALE
a conferenza APERTA o VOTAZIONE, il sistema mantiene in
memoria la coda di prenotazioni, riproponendola alla successiva
abilitazione di una di queste modalità.
Conferenza APERTA
Per attivare la conferenza, premere il tasto NEXT: in questa modalità,
è possibile avere l’abilitazione CONTEMPORANEA di più postazioni
microfoniche.
5.4 System control
The CS2100 system can be controlled either via a CL2100-G control unit or
from a PC using the CS2100 Manager software, whichever is preferred.
The consequences of a command given from one of these will be displayed
on the others. The only function that can only be managed via a PC
is the ROLL-CALL function. When a roll-call is started via the software,
the CL2100-G units connected to the system will be blocked until the
procedure has been completed.
For the procedures for managing conferences and voting sessions via a
PC, refer to the software Help function. The procedures for managing the
system via a CL2100-G control unit are described below.
• Conference type selection
Press the CONF key and select the required conference type using the
numerical keypad:
• key 1 = AUTOMATIC conference
• key 2 = MANUAL conference
• key 3 = OPEN conference
Depending on which conference mode is selected, it is possible to carry
out several specific operations:
AUTOMATIC conference
When this mode is entered, the conference is not active, but it is possible
to queue to speak. To activate the conference, press the NEXT key. The
first Delegate in the queue will be enabled to speak and the address of
the enabled speaker, of the next in the queue and the number of speakers
queued will appear on the display of the CL2100-G. The same information
will appear on the illuminated display panel.
The time still at disposal of the current speaker will also be shown on
the display. During the last 30 seconds, the ring on the microphone and
the LED on the active station will flash, as well as the LED on the next
station in the queue and the indications on the illuminated display panel.
The switch from one speaker to the next takes place automatically when
the time is up. However, it is possible to bring the contribution to an end
before the timeout by pressing the NEXT key, after which 30 seconds
will remain. If the Chairperson takes the floor in the priority mode, the
current speaker will be momentarily queued and the time still at his
disposal frozen. During the conference, it is possible to activate any of the
microphone stations from the CL2100-G by entering its address on the
numerical keypad and pressing OK to confirm the choice. If the station in
question was queued to speak, it will be removed from the queue.
It is possible to activate more than one station in sequence, each of which
cancels the previous one. If required, it is possible to set a new time to
speak by pressing the MENU key followed by “1”. Then enter the time
(between 1 and 20 minutes) and press OK to confirm.
If the entry is made correctly, the message “Automatic time stored”
will appear on the display and the new time limit will be effective
immediately.
It is possible at any time to cancel all the conference parameters (queue,
active speaker) by pressing the CANC key.
MANUAL conference
When this mode is entered, the conference is not active, but it is possible
to queue to speak. To activate the conference, press the NEXT key. The
first Delegate in the queue will be enabled to speak, and the address of
the enabled speaker, of the next in the queue and the number of speakers
queued will appear on the display of the CL2100-G. The same information
will be shown on the illuminated display panel. The description provided
for the automatic mode also apply to the manual mode, with the exception
of the speaking time. In the MANUAL mode, this parameter is entirely at
the discretion of the Chairperson(s), who may set the start and the end
of the contribution of the single Delegates by pressing the NEXT key on
the CL2100 control unit.
N.B.:
When switching from the AUTOMATIC or MANUAL conference
mode to the OPEN mode or VOTING, the system continues to
store the queue, which will be resumed as soon as one of these
conference modes is re-activated.
OPEN conference
To activate the conference, press the NEXT key. In this mode it is possible
for more than one microphone station to be enabled at the same time.

6. NOTE DI SERVIZIO
6.1 Avvertenze
Le operazioni di seguito descritte richiedono l’accesso all’interno
dell’apparecchio. Si raccomanda di leggere attentamente le note a riguardo
nella sezione ‘Note di sicurezza’. Si ricorda, inoltre, che gli interventi di
questo tipo devono essere effettuati da personale qualificato; PASO S.p.A.
declina ogni resposabilità in caso di malfunzionamento dell’apparecchio o
di danni a cose o persone dovuti a negligenza dell’operatore. Per accedere
all’interno dell’apparecchio occorre rimuovere il coperchio dopo aver tolto
le relative viti di fissaggio.
6.2 Sostituzione del fusibile di rete
Il fusibile di rete è alloggiato nel corpo spina di rete
(5), a lato della spina di rete sono riportati i dati del
fusibile stesso. Rimuovere il cavo di rete ed estrarre
il cassettino portafusibile (fig. 6.2.1). Sfilare il fusibile
guasto e sostituirlo solo con uno dello stesso tipo e valore.
Reinserire il cassettino portafusibile nel corpo spina e
riallacciare il cavo di rete.
• Votazione
Premendo 1 sola volta il tasto VOTE sulla CL2100-G, viene aperta
ufficialmente la sessione di voto: i partecipanti potranno decidere di non
votare o di esprimere la loro preferenza tramite uno dei tre tasti (SI/NO/
ASTENUTO) a loro disposizione sulle postazioni microfoniche.
Durante la votazione, il display dell’unità di controllo riporterà in
tempo reale le espressioni di voto e non sarà possibile effettuare altre
operazioni.
Per chiudere la fase di votazione, premere nuovamente il tasto VOTE.
É possibile modificare direttamente dall’unità di controllo la modalità di
voto (palese o segreto). Per fare questo, premere il tasto MENU seguito
dal tasto 2 e premere OK per accettare la proposta visualizzata. La corretta
memorizzazione dell’impostazione viene evidenziata sul display.
6.3 Cavi di collegamento
Vengono di seguito descritte le caratteristiche dei cavi di collegamento
del sistema.
5.5 Software di gestione CS2100 Manager
Come anticipato nella Capitolo ‘Descrizione’, è possibile gestire in modo
remoto il sistema tramite l’utilizzo del software dedicato CS2100 Manager.
Dopo aver collegato tutti gli elementi alla centrale d’alimentazione (vedi
Cap. ‘Connessioni’), installare il software procedendo come di seguito
indicato:
1. Inserire il CD nell’unità CD-ROM del computer.
2. Seguire le istruzioni che appariranno sullo schermo.
Nel caso l’installazione non dovesse partire automaticamente, operare
come segue:
1. Premere Start > Esegui sul menu di avvio;
2. Selezionare il file ‘setup.exe’ e premere ‘OK’;
3. Seguire le istruzioni che appariranno sullo schermo per concludere
l’installazione. Al termine della procedura guidata, verrà creata un’icona
sul desktop.
Una volta terminata l’installazione, accendere la centrale e lanciare il
programma.
• Unità microfoniche, unità di controllo, tabellone
Le connessioni tra i vari posti microfonici/unità e tra questi e la centrale
sono realizzabili tramite i cavi CAT. 5E Paso cod. CV2002 (lunghezza
2m, cod. CV2005 (lunghezza 5m) e cod. CV2010 (lunghezza 10m). I
cavi sono del tipo SF/UTP, costituiti da 4 doppini twistati avvolti in foglia
d’alluminio e calza schermata.
6. SERVICE NOTES
6.1 Warnings
The operations described below require access to the inside of the
equipment. The notes on this subject contained in Section 2.2 ‘Safety notes’
must be read carefully. It should also be remembered that activities of this
type should be carried out by specialised personnel only. PASO S.p.A. will
not accept any liability in the event of malfunctioning of the equipment
or of damages to goods or persons due to negligence on the part of the
operator. To access the inside of the apparatus, it is necessary to remove
the cover, sliding it out from the rear after removing the fixing screws.
6.2 Replacement of the mains fuse
The mains fuse is housed in the body of the mains plug
(5). The fuse data are indicated on the side of the mains
plug. Remove the power cable and pull out the fuse-
holder drawer (Fig. 6.2.1). Take out the blown fuse and
replace it only with one of the same type and rating. Push
the fuse-holder drawer back into place in the body of the
plug and reconnect the power cable.
• Voting
A voting session is officially opened by pressing the VOTE key on the
CL2100-G once. The participants may decide not to vote or to express
their preferences by pressing one of the three keys (YES/NO/ABSTAIN) at
their disposal on their microphone stations.
During the session, the display on the control unit will show the results
of the vote in real time, and it will not be possible to carry out any other
operations. To end the voting session, press the VOTE key again. It is
possible to change the voting mode (open or secret ballot) directly from
the control unit. To do so, press the MENU key followed by key “2” and
then OK to confirm the prompt that appears. The setting will appear on
the display to confirm correct storage.
5.5 CS2100 Manager management software
As already stated in Section 1, ‘Description’, it is possible to manage
the system from a remote station using the dedicated CS2100 Manager
software.
After connecting all the parts to the power-supply unit (see Section
‘Connections’), install the software, proceeding as indicated below:
1. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer.
2. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
If the installation procedure does not start automatically, proceed as
follows:
1. Press Start > Run from the Start menu;
2. Select the ‘setup.exe’ file and press ‘OK’;
3. Follow the instructions appearing on the screen to complete the
installation procedure. Once the guided procedure has been completed,
an icon will be created on the desktop.
Once you have completed the installation, switch on the central unit and
run the program.
6.3 Connection cables
The specifications of the connecting cable of the system are indicated
below.
• Microphone stations, control units, hall display
The connections between the microphone stations/units and between
these and the central unit are made by means of CAT. 5E cables, Paso
codes CV2002 (length 2m), CV2005 (length 5m) and CV2010 (length
10m). The cables, of the SF/UTP type, consist of 4 twisted pairs wrapped
in aluminium foil and shielded sheathing.
