posteriore del carter sinistro.

Localizzazione del numero del

Il numero del telaio è inciso nel tubo late-

rale destro del telaio nella sua parte pos-

teriore inferiore, all’altezza della traversa.

Chiavi

Con lo scooter si consegnano due chiavi

per la serratura d’accensione.

Tenere la chiave di scorta in un luogo

sicuro.

Location of the engine number

The engine number is stamped on the

rear end of the left hand crankcase half.

Location of the frame number

The frame number is stamped on the

underneath at the rear of the front side

frame tube, at the level of the cross tube.

Keys

Two keys to fit the ignition lock are sup-

plied with the scooter. Keep the spare key

in a safe place.

Hinterseite der linken Gehäusehälfte.

Fahrgestellnummer

Die Fahrgestellnummer befindet sich

am rechten Seitenrohr des Fahrgestells

(hinten unten), auf der Höhe des

Querträgers.

Schlüssel

Mit dem Scooter werden zwei Schlüssel

übergeben für das Zündschloss.

Bewahren Sie den Ersatzschlüssel an

einer sicheren Stelle auf.

cally to the centre position after being

moved either to the left or to the right.

To turn the indicators off, push the indi-

Comando freno anteriore

Situato sul lato destro del manubrio

(1). Avere speciale cura nell’uso e cer-

care di evitare sempre il bloccaggio

della ruota.

Comando dell’acceleratore

Situato sul lato destro del manubrio

(2). Quando si gira verso l’interno la

manopola si provoca l’apertura della

valvola del carburatore.

Comando freno posteriore

Situato sul lato sinistro del manubrio

(3). Deve usarsi preferibilmente quando

si desideri ridurre o fermare completa-

mente la velocità del veicolo.

Bisogna combinare l’uso del freno

posteriore con quello anteriore, a

seconda delle necessità: in questo

modo si otterranno delle frenate più effi-

caci.

Front brake lever

Located on the right hand side of the

handlebar (1). Be particularly careful to

avoid locking the wheel when operating

the brake lever.

Rear brake lever

Located on the left hand side of the

handlebar (3). It should be used for pre-

ference when reducing the speed of the

scooter or when coming to a complete

stop.

Combine the use of the front and rear

brakes as conditions demand, and in

this way you will obtain a more efficient

braking action.

Throttle twist grip

Located on the right hand side of the

handlebar (2). By rotating the twist grip

towards you the carburettor valve is

opened.

Vorderbremshebel

An der rechten Seite des Lenkers (1).

Vorsicht beim Bremsen mit der

Vorderbremse. Vermeiden Sie stets ein

Blockieren des Rades.

Gasregler

An der rechten Seite des Lenkers (2).

Durch Drehen des Griffs nach innen

öffnet sich der Gasschieber.

Hinterbremshebel

An der linken Seite des Lenkers (3).

Geben Sie dieser Bremse den Vorzug,

wenn Sie das Fahrzeug abbremsen

oder ganz zum Stehen bringen wollen.

Kombinieren Sie die Wirkung der

Hinterbremse mit der der Vorderbremse

je nach den Erfordernissen. Sie erzielen

so eine bessere Bremswirkung.

Posizione della chiave

In questa posizione il circuito

d’accensione si chiude ed è

possibile mettere in moto il

motore. La chiave non potrà

estrarsi dalla blocchetto

d’accensione quando sia in

questa posizione.

Motore fermo e senza bloccag-

gio

(bloccaggio)

Per bloccare lo sterzo, girare

totalmente il manubrio verso

sinistra. Premere verso il basso

la chiave, poi girarla fino alla

posizione

$ ed estrarla. Per

sbloccare, premere la chiave

verso il basso e girarla a destra.

O

SSERVAZIONE:

Prima di girare la chiave fino alla posi-

zione $ (bloccaggio) mettere lo scooter

sul cavalletto. Non tentare mai di muo-

vere lo scooter quando lo sterzo è bloc-

cato, poiché si potrebbe perdere l’equili-

brio.

Ignition Lock

Key position

In this position, the ignition cir-

cuit is made and it is possible to

start the engine. The key cannot

be removed from the ignition

lock when in this position.

Engine stopped but steering not

locked

$

(steering lock)

To lock the steering, turn the

handlebar fully to the left. Then

press the ignition key right in

and turn to the locked position

$

Now withdraw the key. To

unlock, push the key in and turn

to the right.

NOTE:

Before turning the key to the $ (loc-

ked) position, put the scooter up on its

stand. Do not attempt to move the scoo-

ter with the steering locked, because it

can easily overbalance and fall.

blockieren, drehen Sie den

Lenker vollständig nach links.

Drücken Sie den Schlüssel

nach unten und anschließend

drehen Sie ihn bis zur Position $

und ziehen ihn ab. Zur

Aufhebung der Blockierung,

drücken Sie den Schlüssel nach

unten und drehen Sie ihn nach

rechts.

NMERKUNG:

Bevor Sie den Schlüssel in die Position

$ (Blockierung) drehen, stellen Sie das

Moped auf den Ständer. Versuchen Sie

niemals, das Moped zu bewegen,

Leva di avviamento

La leva di avviamento è situata sul

lato sinistro del motore. Per mettere il

motore in moto basta agire sulla leva

con una azione energica del piede

verso il basso.

Comando aria carburatore

Situato sul lato sinistro del manubrio

(1).

Questo comando ha come unico

scopo agevolare l’avviamento. Usarlo

soltanto qualora il motore sia freddo.

Premere il comando aria carburatore

verso il basso.

Quando il motore sia ormai in moto,

dopo alcuni secondi, riportare il coman-

do aria alla sua posizione normale (aria

aperta).

Nel caso in cui il motore si fermasse

per aver usato il comando troppo a

lungo, deve ripetersi l’operazione fintan-

toché il motore funzioni normalmente al

minimo. Per fare ciò c’è soltanto bisog-

no di pochi secondi.

Kick start pedal

The kick start pedal is located on the

left hand side of the engine. To start the

engine, simply kick the pedal down hard

using your foot. (Please see page 32.)

Carburettor mixture control (choke)

Located on the left hand side of the

handlebar (1).

This control is only intended to be

used to make starting easier and should

only be used when the engine is cold.

Push the carburettor choke lever

down.

Once the engine is running, the con-

trol should be returned to the normal

position (Air open) after a few seconds.

If the engine should stop again

because the mixture control was used

for too short a time, the operation

should be repeated until the engine

runs normally at idle. This will require

only a few seconds.

Kick-Starterhebel

Der Kick-Starterhebel befindet sich an

der linken Motorseite. Um den Motor

anzulassen, den Hebel kräftig mit dem

Fuß nach unten drücken (s. S. 32).

Choke

Am linken Lenkerende (1). Der Choke

dient dazu, das Anlassen des Motors zu

erleichtern. Benutzen Sie den Choke

nur, wenn der Motor kalt ist.

Versetzen Sie den Choke einige

Sekunden nach Anlassen des Motors in

seine Normalstellung (Lufteintritt

geöffnet) zurück.

Sollte der Motor wieder ausgehen,

weil der Choke nicht lange genug

betätigt wurde, wiederholen Sie den

Vorgang, bis der Motor normal im

Leerlauf funktioniert. (s. S 21)

Bag Carrier

When carrying bags or similar packa-

ges, there is a bag carrier hook to hang

them on.

Avoid placing excessively heavy or

bulky items on the hook, so as not to

affect the stability or riding characteris-

tics of the vehicle.

Serratura sella

Per aprire la sella introdurre la chiave

nel blocchetto d'avviamento e girarla a

sinistra "OPEN". Sotto la sella c'è un

ampio vano per l'emetto (c'è posto pe

un elmetto integrale). Sotto la sella c'è

pure il serbatoio del carburante (2), e

olio (3). Per chiudere, mettere la sella

nella sua posizione iniziale e, dalla

parte posteriore, premere verso il

basso.

Serbatoio carburante

Il serbatoio del carburante ha una

capacità di litri 7,200 ed una riserva di

litri 1,900.

Serbatoio olio

Il serbatoio dell’olio ha una capacità

di litri 1,200 ed una riserva di litri 0,200.

Ponte antifurto

Il ponte antifurto dello scooter è situa-

to nella parte inferiore anteriore del

telaio, lato sinistro.

Saddle lock

In order to open the saddle, insert the

key in the ignition lock and turn to the

left to the “OPEN” position. Underneath

the saddle there is a generous space

for your helmet (with sufficient room for

a full-face helmet). Under the saddle

you can also find the following: the fuel

tank (2) and the oil reservoir (3). To

close the saddle drop it back to its origi-

nal position, place your hand on the

rear end and press down.

Fuel tank

The fuel tank has a capacity of 7.200

litres and a reserve of 1.900 litres.

Oil reservoir

The oil reservoir has a capacity of

1.200 litres and a reserve of 0.200

litres.

Anti-theft shackle

The scooter is fitted with an anti-theft

shackle, which is located on the under-

neath of the front of the frame, on the

left hand side.

Istruzioni per l’avviamento del

motore

(con accensione elettrica)

- Avere sempre l’accorgimento di azio-

nare i comandi dell’avviamento del

motore con lo scooter sul cavalletto

centrale.

- Agire sulla chiave di accensione nella

posizione della destra

- Tenere la manopola comando gas al

minimo.

- Agire sul comando freno posteriore o

anteriore. È molto importante, altri-

menti il motore non si avvia.

- Premere il comando aria carburatore

verso il basso soltanto qualora il moto-

re sia freddo: in questo modo si riduce

l'aria e si facilita la messa in moto.

- Premere il pulsante di accensione

e

mantenerlo così fino a che il motore si

avii al primo tentativo.

- Il tempo necessario in cui deve pre-

mersi il pulsante per l’accensione è, di

solito, da 1 a 2 secondi approssimati-

vamente.

- Dopo aver messo in moto il motore,

riportare il comando aria alla sua posi-

zione normale (aria aperta).

Instructions for starting the engine

(with electric starter)

- Always remember to operate the star-

ting controls for the engine with the

scooter up on the centre stand.

- Put the key in the ignition lock and turn

to the right hand position

- Keep the throttle twist grip in the slow

running position.

- Apply the front or the rear brake. This

is very important, because the engine

will not start without the brakes

applied.

- Push the carburettor choke lever

down, but only when the engine is

cold: this closes the air intake and

makes it easier to start.

- Press the starter button

, and keep it

pressed until the engine fires at the

first attempt.

- The time necessary to keep the starter

button pressed until the engine fires

will be approximately between 1 and 2

seconds.

- As soon as the engine is running, turn

the carburettor mixture control (choke)

back to its normal position (Air Open).

Hinweise zum Ingangsetzen

des Motors

- Betätigen Sie die Bedienelemente zum

- Den Anlasserknopf

drücken und

gedrückt halten, bis sich der Motor beim

ersten Versuch in Gang setzt.

- Um den Motor anzulassen, muß der

Anlasserknopf gewöhnlich ca. 1 bis 2

Sekunden gedrückt gehalten werden.

- Nach dem Starten des Motors den

Chokehebel in seine Normalstellung

(Luftzufuhr geöffnet) zurückbringen.

- Ricordare sempre che si guida uno

scooter con variatore centrifugo. Qua-

lora si accelera, il variatore, dotato di

un funzionamento progressivo, ha

bisogno che la forza centrifuga agisca

sui suoi meccanismi e sceglie il rap-

porto che Lei desidera.

- Quando si vada in salita, sebbene si

mantenga la manopola dell’accelera-

tore al massimo, il variatore centrifugo

sceglierà automaticamente il rapporto

corretto.

- Quando esegua discese prolungate si

ricordi di accelerare ogni tanto al fine

di lubrificare il motore.

❀

Guidare sempre a 3/4 del gas. Si

risparmia combustibile, si riducono

i rumori e si allunga la vita dello

scooter.

- Quando si frena, togliere il gas.

- Frenare con soavità, avendo cura del

fondo stradale. Sull’asfalto secco,

cominciare la frenata col freno anterio-

re e finirla con entrambi. Su terreno

bagnato, con sabbia o ghiaietto, non

usare mai il freno anteriore e mante-

nere più distanza dai veicoli che pre-

cedono per poter fermare lo scooter.

- Nell’avviamento dare il gas in modo

soave e progressivo.

❀ Arrestare il motore ove la situazio-

ne del traffico lo consenta.

Always keep in mind that you are riding a

scooter with a centrifugal variable speed

drive. This variable speed drive changes

the ratio continuously as you open the

throttle, but it needs the centrifugal force

to act on its operating parts to select the

ratio that you desire.

- When climbing uphill, the variable speed

drive will select the appropriate ratio for

the slope automatically, regardless of

whether you keep the throttle fully open.

- When descending long hills, remember to

open the throttle from time to time in order

to lubricate the engine.

Always ride with the engine giving a

little less than full performance (3/4

throttle). This saves petrol, keeps

noise levels down, and lengthens the

life of your scooter.

- When you use the brakes, close the throt-

tle.

- Brake smoothly, keeping an eye on the

type of surface you are on. On dry asp-

halt, start braking with the front brake, and

then use both brakes to come to a com-

plete stop.

On wet surfaces, or on sand or gravel,

never use the front brake, and allow a

greater distance for coming to a complete

stop.

- When you move off, open the throttle

smoothly and slowly.

Stop the engine when traffic condi-

tions dictate.

- Denken Sie stets daran, daß Sie ein

Moped mit Fliehkraftversteller fahren.

Beim Gasgeben läßt der Versteller,

dessen Funktion fortschreitend ist, die

Fliehkraft auf den Mechanismus

einwirken und wählt das Verhältnis, das

Sie benötigen.

- Wenn Sie Hänge hinauffahren, wählt

der Fliehkraftversteller automatisch das

geeignete Verhältnis, auch wenn Sie

weiterhin Vollgas geben.

- Wenn Sie über längere Stecken bergab

fahren, denken Sie daran, hin und

wieder Gas zu geben, damit der Motor

gut geschmiert bleibt.

Geben Sie immer nur soviel Gas

(etwa 3/4), daß Sie immer noch ein

wenig mehr geben können. Sie

sparen so Benzin, vermeiden zu

großen Lärm und verlängern die

Lebensdauer Ihres Mopeds.

- Nehmen Sie beim Bremsen das Gas

zurück.

- Bremsen Sie sanft und achten Sie auf

das Gelände, das Sie befahren. Auf

trockenem Asphalt starten Sie den

Bremsvorgang mit der Vorderbremse

und beenden ihn mit beiden Bremsen.

Auf nassem Grund, auf Sand oder auf

Kies benutzen Sie niemals die

Vorderbremse. Kalkulieren Sie auch

einen längeren Bremsweg ein.

- Geben Sie beim Starten zuerst sanft

und dann allmählich mehr Gas.
