provide years of reliable service if maintained properly.
260 PSI AIR COMPRESSOR CORDLESS y RECHARGEABLE VEC270MG
The VEC270MG 260 PSI AIR COMPRESSOR CORDLESS y RECHARGEABLE is
a compact, durable and portable system that features:
Standard tire valve chuck,
Twin fluorescent worklight and
12 volt DC power source and outlet.
It is ideal for use with Vector 12 volt DC cordless, portable, rechargeable products
and MAXX
®
SST DC/AC Power Inverters.
Use the VEC270MG 260 PSI AIR COMPRESSOR CORDLESS y
RECHARGEABLE to:
Operate: 12 volt DC fans, inflators, fluorescent worklights, cell phones*, spotlights,
TVs, portable radios, cassette or CD players, and more. *Can quick-charge a
cellular phone by using the phone’s 12 volt DC adapter cord.
Operate: Certain 120 volt AC accessories (requires a Vector 12 volt power inverter,
sold separately)
The VEC270MG system has an easy-to-read, series of LED (Light Emitting Diode)
charge indicators that show when the unit is fully charged, or the level of charge in
the battery. Charge level can be viewed when the charge "PUSH FOR STATUS"
button switch is pressed. When pressed, the CHARGE STATUS button will show
the battery‘s power level status (from Low to Full). The green LED full indicator
illuminates when the unit is fully recharged and charging can be discontinued.
A 12 volt DC accessory outlet is provided for use with appliances that can operate
from a vehicle 12 volt DC accessory outlet. This allows maximum portability and
utility when the VEC270MG is used in remote locations.
The VEC270MG can be recharged from any standard 120 volt AC power source
using the supplied AC recharge adapter. The adapter’s barrel connector attaches
to the recharge port on the side panel.
A built-in 12 volt appliance outlet and the appropriate DC/DC charging/adapter cord
is used to recharge the battery from another 12 volt DC source. A “LAMP ON/OFF”
switch operates the built-in fluorescent work/emergency light.

3. OPERATION - RECHARGING
NOTICE: BATTERY MUST BE CHARGED BEFORE INITIAL USE. IT IS
RECOMMENDED TO USE 120 VOLT AC ADAPTER. If the power is
totally drained from the battery and not recharged, the battery may not be
rechargeable.
È CAUTION: This unit is NOT intended for recharging a vehicle’s battery.
Never start the vehicle when the 12 volt DC recharging adapter is plugged
into the vehicle accessory outlet. Never insert anything other than the
supplied power/recharging cords or recommended appliance
power/recharging cords into the charging or power outlet on this unit.
NOTICE: Charging the battery while the vehicle’s engine is not running, is
not recommended as it could drain the vehicle’s battery. If the unit is used
too long after the red light comes on, recharging could take up to 7 hours.
3.1. 120 Volt AC Recharging
IMPORTANT: The unit’s power ON/OFF switch MUST be OFF when the unit is
charging or not in use.
To recharge the battery using the 120 volt AC adapter, follow these procedures:
1. Push the power switch to the "Off" position and insert the 120 volt AC
recharging adapter into the AC recharge adapter barrel connector outlet
located next to the battery status LED indicators.
2. Plug the charger into a 120 volt electrical outlet.
3. The red charging light will come on indicating the battery is recharging and will
remain on until charger is removed. No other indicator lights will come on.
4. Charge the unit for 14 to 16 continuous hours before initial use. After
multiple uses, recharge the battery for 5 to 6 hours. If the unit is used too
long after the red light comes on, recharging time could take up to 20 hours
and the battery life may be shortened.
260 PSI AIR COMPRESSOR CORDLESS y RECHARGEABLE VEC270MG
NOTICE: Do not operate the unit while recharging with the 120 volt AC
adapter. Damage will occur to the unit/accessory.
3.2. 12 Volt DC Recharging
È CAUTION: This unit is NOT intended for recharging a vehicle’s battery.
Never start the vehicle when the 12 volt DC recharging adapter is plugged
into the accessory outlet.
1) Insert the 12 volt DC recharging adapter into the 12 volt DC accessory
outlet.
2) Insert the other end into the vehicle accessory outlet.
3) The inflator should be charged for 5 to 6 hours while driving, before initial
use. After multiple uses, recharge the inflator for 3 hours.
3.3. Battery Indicator Lights
The battery is at "full" charge if the green LED is lit.
If 2 red LEDs are lit up, the unit can be used but will need a charge soon.
If 1 red LED is lit, this indicates the battery must be recharged. The "red" LEDs will
light when recharging the battery.
4. OPERATION AS A PORTABLE COMPRESSOR (INFLATOR)
!
WARNING: Do not leave the inflator unattended while the unit is
running. The universal adapter must be locked to secure the inflation
accessories. Any misuse could cause property damage or personal
injury. Use extreme caution when using inflation accessories.
È CAUTION: Turn unit off to allow inflator to cool for 10 minutes after 15
minutes of continuous operation. If not cooled properly the inflator will
overheat.
NOTICE: Make sure the universal adapter touches the core of tire valve
stem. The compressor is capable of inflating up to 260 pounds per square
inch (PSI) pressure. To avoid over-inflation, carefully follow instructions on
articles to be inflated.
T DANGER: Read all manufacturers’ safety guidelines. Never exceed
recommended pressures. Bursting articles can cause serious injury.
Always check pressure with the pressure gauge. Never leave
compressor unattended while in use.
260 PSI AIR COMPRESSOR CORDLESS y RECHARGEABLE VEC270MG
After the battery is charged, the inflator is ready for use. If the battery has not been
charged, please see section 3.1 120 Volt AC Charging before continuing.
1. Remove valve stem cap and attach the universal adapter from the air
inflator to the valve stem with the lever in the up position. Be sure to press
universal adapter down over valve stem threads completely. Press down
on the universal adapter's lever to lock onto valve stem when the adapter is
firmly in place, (See FIGURE – need artwork).
2. To use the inflation accessories, insert piece into the universal adapter and
push the lever to lock into place. The inflation accessory will fit securely.
3. Insert the appropriate inflation accessory into the inflatable object.
4. Turn on the power and the compressor switch.

vehicles, trailer tires and recreational inflatables.
1. Place connector (chuck) on valve stem.
2. Ensure connector is pushed on to valve stem as far as possible before
closing thumb latch.
3. Make sure latch is secure.
4. Check pressure with the pressure gauge.
5. When desired pressure is reached, open thumb latch and remove
connector from valve stem.
6. Turn OFF Compressor Power Switch.
7. Allow unit to cool after use, before storing away.
8. Store compressor hose and tire fitting in storage compartment.
