Gasket Kit for Replacement Heat Exchanger
Description/
Application
To prevent damage during shipping or storage, gaskets for all Standard Power Vent &
Separated Combustion Unit Model replacement heat exchangers are shipped in a parts
bag and should be attached to the heat exchanger at the time of installation. All gaskets
are self-adhesive and cut to size.

Components
DANGER: The replacement heat exchanger should be installed by a
qualied service agency in compliance with all codes and requirements
of authorities having jurisdiction.
Improper installation could result in death, serious injury, and /or
property damage. The qualied agency performing this work assumes
responsibility for this installation.

Instructions
WARNING: Proper installation and sealing of the heat exchanger to the
heater is necessary for reliable and safe operation. Failure to properly
install could result in property damage, personal injury, and/or death.
Header Panel Gaskets - All Sizes
Refer to page 2, FIGURE 1 (shown on page 2) for Sizes 30-125 or FIGURE 2 for Sizes
150-400. Select the top, bottom, and side header panel gaskets and determine the position
of each. The gaskets go on the outer edges of the header panel. Line up holes in top and
side gaskets; ignore large holes in bottom gasket.
To apply, start at the end and gradually peel the backing from the gasket as it is adhered.
Repeat with each strip. The header panel gaskets are sealing gaskets and must cover the
full length of the surface.
Tube Support Gasket - Sizes 150, 175, 200, 225, 250, 300, 350, 400
Refer to page 2, FIGURE 2 (shown on page 2). The gasket strip extends across the top,
rear, and bottom of the tube support. To apply, start at the end and gradually peel the back-
ing from the gasket as it is adhered.
The tube support gasket is required to prevent vibration but is not a sealing gasket.

*Orice change is required on Model UDAP, UDAS, UDBP and UDBS Size 250 using natural gas and manufactured prior to 1/07; see
the instruction sheet with the orice. If the replacement heat exchanger is for a Model UDAP, UDAS, UDBP, or UDBS Size 250 using
propane, the orice is not used and should be discarded.

Maintenance
Checks
Refer to the “Maintenance/Service” Section of the heater installation manual (Models
UDAP, UDAS or APD, Form I-APD & UDA Series; or Models UDBP and UDBS,
Form I-UDB). As part of the replacement heat exchanger installation, inspect and
clean the cabinet, burner, and vent system. Replace any components that are not
structurally sound.
If servicing a natural gas Size 250 on any Model unit heater, be sure to change the
burner orice. Follow the instuctions provided.
When installation of the replacement heat exchanger is complete, review the “Check
Installation and Startup Section” in the heater installation manual. Follow the instruc-
tions on the lighting instruction plate to restart the heater. CHECK ALL SAFETY
FEATURES FOR PROPER OPERATION.
