Liebe Eltern,
Alltag Ihres Kindes integrieren.

Wette“, machen also möglichst schnell entsprechend der aufge-

euch selbst. Dabei wackelt ihr mit den Armen
und ruft laut „Gack, gack, gack“.
Der flinke Frosch
Steht schnell auf und macht einen
Hampelmann. Springt dabei in die Höhe und
klatscht die Hände über dem Kopf zusammen.
Ruft dabei laut „Quak, quak“.

Dear Parents,
Is your child a sports champion, or do you have a little couch
potato at home? Each child is inherently different, and that’s OK
and perfectly normal. But it’s important for your child’s everyday
life to include a healthy amount of movement; you need to
encourage them to outwit the inner couch potato. Many excus-
es are abundant as to why we shouldn’t move too much today:
bad weather, not enough time, our phones and handheld elec-
tronic games are charged and waiting for us. But the more
regularly children manage to overcome their inner couch potato
in their younger years, and get moving, the easier and healthier
it will be for them later in life. This is precisely where the Active
Kids games can help by playfully awakening children’s natural
urge to move. Simple rules and short game times allow the
games to be quickly and easily integrated into your child’s every-
day life. Everyone is sure to have fun and laugh a lot, even the
inner couch potatoes.

A wildly fun movement game for 2 - 4 children aged 4 - 99 years.
Author: Trio Kreativ
Illustrator: Michael Menzel
Length of the game: approx. 10 minutes
The animal friends meet up to play together, just like they do every
week. This time the quick frog has an idea! Can the other animals
jump as well as he can? And who will be the fastest to arch their
back like the cat? The animals are quick to make a fun game out
of it, and take part in the action competition until they‘re rolling
around on the ground from laughing. Only the turtle is tired and
wants to sleep. Animal Actions is a wildly fun movement game in
which you need to copy the poses of the animals as quickly as pos-
sible. Which of you will be the first to imitate a spinning chicken or
a dancing donkey?

36 action cards
1 parrot perch
(= box base)
4 parrot
Preparation
You need a bit of space for this game. It‘s best if you sit or kneel
in a circle on the floor. Take all the game material out of the box.
Shuffle the action cards and place them in a face-down pile in the
middle of the circle.
Each player takes a parrot and places it on the starting field on the
edge of the box base. The lid and any spare parrots are put aside.
How to play
Basic game "Action Competition" for 3 - 4 players
Play in a clockwise direction. One game has multiple action rounds.
In each round one player is the judge and the other players have
an "action competition", they copy the action of the animal on the
turned over card as quickly as possible.
The player who best crows like a rooster may start, and is the first
umpire. Place the stack of cards in front of you so that all other
players can see it. This starts the action round. Turn over the top
card as quickly as possible.

ENGLISH
What does it show?
The sleeping turtle
Imitate the turtle and have a rest this round.
Stay sitting or kneeling as you are. The
player with the card stack uncovers the next
card.
An animal action
If you see an animal action you have to get moving. Depending
on the animal on the card you need to move in a certain way.
The spinning chicken
Stand up quickly and spin around in a circle.
Wave your arms around while doing so and
loudly call out "cluck, cluck, cluck".
The quick frog
Stand up quickly and do a jumping jack. Jump
up in the air and clap your hands together
above your head. Call out "croak, croak“
loudly while doing so.
The arched cat
First stand up, then kneel down on all fours.
Arch your back like a cat and loudly call out
"meow".
The dancing donkey
Stand up quickly, swing one leg behind you
and stretch your arms out to the side. While
doing so call out "hee-haw".
12
ENGLISH
As the judge you need to decide who took the right action first.
This player may move their parrot one field further on the edge of
the game board.
Then sit or kneel in a circle on the ground again. The judge then
gives the stack with the action cards to the next player. Now they
are the new judge and turn over a card.
Once the last card in the draw pile has been turned over and the
action has been carried out, shuffle the pile quickly, place it face-
down and use it as a new draw pile. Then start the next action
round.
End of the game
When the first player reaches the starting field again with their
parrot, the fun action competition is over and they win the game.
Action competition with a game master
Sometimes it helps younger players if an older child or an adult
acts as the umpire for the whole game.
The basic rules of the action competition apply, but with the
following changes:
the older child or adult turns over the action card in every action
round, and shows it to all the other children at the same time.
They also determine the winner in every round.
Tip: The animals on the action
cards show what your posi-
tions should look like.

ENGLISH

to perform the appropriate action.
the first person to take the correct position puts their hand on
the stack of action cards. This player may move their parrot one
field forward.
then everyone sits or kneels in a circle again and the next player

Chers parents,

A chaque manche,

figure le plus rapidement.
