BEFORE OPERATING ON THE DEVICE, PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THROUGH THE
INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL.
This instrument has been designed to operate without risk only if:
Installation, use and maintenance are performed according to the instructions of this manual;
Installation work and maintenance must be carried out by skilled staff only;
Environmental conditions fall within the values indicated on the product label.
ANY DIFFERENT USE AS WELL AS ANY CHANGES WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY
AUTHORISED BY THE MANUFACTURER, ARE TO BE CONSIDERED IMPROPER. THE USER IS HELD
RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURIES OR DAMAGES CAUSED BY MISUSE.
LOOP MUST BE FREE WHEN SWITCHING ON THE DETECTOR:
CONNECTIONS:
IT IS RECOMMENDED:
To twist wires connecting the detector to the loop at least 50 twists per metre;
To avoid crossing cables by separating very low connections from load-referred connections.
To not litter the packaging materials and keep them out of the reach of children as they represent a
potential source of ranger;
To not install the product in an explosive environment or with electromagnetic disturbances; the
presence of inflammable gas or fumes constitute a serious danger.
To disconnect all electrical connection before doing the maintenance;
WE REMIND YOU THAT THE INSTRUMENT IS NOT PROTECTED FROM ELECTRICAL OVERLOADING:
Beware to equip all outputs with necessary security devices;
Make sure that employment conditions like supply tension, ambient temperature and humidity are within
the indicated limits.

APPLICATION : MAGNETIX is a digital inductive loop metal detector based on 4 frequency steps and 4
sensibility steps. It is the ideal solution to manage all barrier controls, motorized gates and doors, vehicle access
control, parking and traffic detection.
EASY USER PANEL: 10 dips for an easy setting.
LOOP RESET : the device performs a loop self-tuning at every power on to eliminate possible
environmental disturbances. During the normal functioning of the loop detector, the frequency drift are
constantly monitored in order to avoid that environmental external disturbances may affect the status of the
device outputs. At any time it is possible to send a reset / loop-tuning command directly from keyboard or
from digital input.
iFS INTERFACE: (optional) iFS interface allows you to work directly on the instrument by means of the
FastSet Light board. This makes it easier and handier to copy parameters from one device to another. This
operation is only possible among compatible instruments, i.e. instruments having the same code;
DIGITAL INPUT: (optional) the device features a digital input to which a loop reset remote control may be
connected;
AUXILIARY OUTPUT : (optional) the device may feature an AUX / ALARM output, which opens/ closes in case
of error events.
3. LOOP REALIZATION / INSTALLATION
The magnetic loop to lay underground for the metal masses detection should be made from insulated and
twisted copper wire with a minimum cross sectional area of 1,5mm2. Joints in the wire are not
recommended. The wire should be 20m to 50m long. The number of wire twists depends on the perimeter of
the slot to control. See table below:
The two loop wire ends, called loop tail, should be paired up appropriately, twisted together with at least 5
turns per 10cm and joined to the detector crimp connectors; the tail length should be as short as possible
and not exceed 10m.
Excepting special cases, the loop should be rectangular in shape. The longest twisted axis are generally
perpendicular to the direction of travel of the metallic mass, see picture below.
Loop should be laid underground in a small slot cut in the road; The slot should be about 10 to 15mm wide and
30mm to 50mm deep. A 45° cut should be made across the corners to prevent damage to the wire on the
corners.
After the loop wires have been placed in the slot, the slot is filled with epoxy compound or bitumen filler or hot
melt asphalt: attention should be paid to the asphalt temperature since it may damage the loop. Even the loop
tail should be laid underground and fixed to the road surface until where the loop detector is placed.
The loop should be located at least 0.15mm from any fixed metallic objects and 0.5m from external
moving metallic bodies.
When two loops are used in close proximity to each other it is recommended that 3 turns are used in
one and 4 turns in the other to prevent cross-talk. Cross-talk is a term used to describe the
interference between two adjacent loops. To avoid incorrect operation of the detector, the loops
should be at least 2 metres apart.

OFF: pulse on entry (covered)
ON: pulse on entry (covered)
The frequency of the detector can be adjusted with DIP switches DIP1 and DIP2. The loop frequency
depends on the loop geometry, loop length, and number of loop twists. When more loops are used in close
proximity to each other it is recommended to adjust them in different frequency settings to prevent cross-
talk.
The frequency can be adjusted in 4 different sensitivity steps.
The setting of the sensitivity is adjustable and gives the frequency deviation which a vehicle must produce
for changing the status of the output OUT1 or OUT2 of the detector.
The sensitivity can be adjusted in 4 steps with the two DIP-switches DIP3 and DIP4 on top of the front
panel.
