Installation
1. Placera pumpen så lågt som möjligt.
Fäst pumpen i botten
med två skruvar.
För montering på
vertikal yta räcker
det med en skruv som
pumpfästet hakas fast på.
2. Anslut den bruna kabeln till pluspol
(+) och strömbrytare. Anslut den
svarta kabeln till minuspol (-). Vi
rekommenderar 2.5A säkring.
3. Se till att utloppet riktas vertikalt eller
uppåt. Undvik veck och öglor på
slangen.
Montera slangen mellan pumpens
utlopp och bordgenomföringen.
Obs! För lång slang kan vika sig och
förhindra flödet.
För längre hållbarhet, följ anvisningarna
och torrkör inte pumpen. Stäng av
strömbrytaren direkt efter användning.

Submersible bilge pump for pumping
bilge water in marine environment. To
be installed in the keelson.
Security
• The pump may not be used for other
liquids than water/bilge water.
• Always install the pump according
to the wiring diagram.
• Always use the fuse required, see
”Design features” below.
• The wire connections must be
sealed with a marine sealant.
• Insulation or cable sheathings must
be placed above the highest bilge
water level.
• Do not run dry.

First Mate - Submersible Bilge Pump, 12V
Installation
1. Select the lowest point in your bilge.
Fasten the pump with
screws where convenient.
You may use a single
screw on an upright
member and simply
slide the screw into the
pump bracket slot.
2. Connect the brown wire to the posi-
tive (+) lead and switch and connect
the black wire to the negative (-)
lead. We suggest a 2.5A fuse.
3. Make sure the pump oulet is level
or pointed slightly upward. The dis-
charge hose must have no loops or
sags which could cause an airlock.
Fasten the hose to the pump outlet
and to the thru hull connector, culling
off any excess hose that might sag.
For longer pump life, wire only as
directed and do not run dry. Turn the
switch off immediately after the bilge is
pumped.

ten. Nach Möglichkeit demontieren Sie
Teile der Pumpe um sie dem Recycling-
Process zuzuführen.

Einbau
1. Wählen Sie den niedrigsten Punkt
im Boot als Einbaus-
telle der Pumpe aus.
Die Pumpe mit zwei
Schrauben am Boots-
boden anschrauben.
Bei Anbringung an ei-
ner senkrechten Fläche genügt eine
Schraube, in die Pumpenhalterung
eingehakt wird.
2. Braunes Kabel an Pluspol (+) und
Schalter anschließen. Schwarzes
Kabel an Minuspol (-) anschließen.
Wir empfehlen Sicherung 2.5A.
3. Prüfen, daß der Pumpenauslauf
senkrecht oder nach oben gerichtet
ist. Falten und Schlingen im
Schlauch vermeiden.
Schlauch zwischen Pumpenauslauf
und Borddurchführung einbauen.
Hinweis! Ein zu langer Schlauch
kann sich falten und den Wasserst-
rom drosseln.
Für längere Lebensdauer ist die Pum-
pen wie hier vorgeschrieben anzusch-
ließen, Trockenlauf ist zu vermeiden.
Strom sofort nach der Anwendung
abstellen.

Installation
1. Placer la pompe aussi bas que pos-
sible. Fixer la pompe
au fond avec deux vis.
Pour un montage sur une
surface verticale, il
suffit d’une vis où sera
accrochée la fixation de
la pompe.
2. Brancher le câble brun à la borne po-
sitive (+) et à l’interrupteur. Brancher
le câble noir à la borne négative (-).
Nous recommandons un fusible de
2.5A.
3. S’assurer que la sortie est bien hori-
zontale ou légèrement inclinée vers le
haut. Eviter les coudes ou les boucles
sur le flexible.
Monter le flexible entre la sortie de la
pompe et la traversée de bord. Note!
Un flexible trop long risque de plier et
de bloquer le passage.
Pour une plus grande longévité, suivre
les instructions et ne pas laisser la
pompe tourner à sec. Couper immé-
diatement le courant avec l’interrupteur
après l’utilisation.

Instalación

engancha la fijación de la bomba.
2. Conectar el cable marrón al borne
positivo (-) e interruptor; conectar
el cable negro al borne negativo (-).
Recomendamos un fusible de 2.5A.
3. Asegurarse de que la salida queda
orientada verticalmente o hacia ar-
riba. Ev’tese que la manguera forme
pliegues o bucles.
Montar la manguera entre la salida
de la bomba y el pasacasco. Nota:
Si la manguera es demasiado larga
puede doblarse e impedir el flujo.
Para una mayor vida de servicio,
s’ganse las instrucciones y no hacer
funcionar la bomba en seco. Cerrar
el interruptor inmediatamente después
del uso.

Installazione
1. Posizionare la pompa nel punto più
basso possibile. Fissarla al fondo con
due viti. In caso di mon-
taggio su superficie
verticale è sufficiente
fissare una vite alla
parete, a cui va appesa
la pompa.
2. Collegare il cavo marrone al polo
positivo (+) ed all’interruttore. Colle-
gare il cavo nero al polo negativo (-).
Raccomandiamo l’applicazione di un
fusibile da 2.5A.
3. Accertarsi che lo scarico della pom-
pasia in piano orizzontale o legge-
rmente verso l’alto. Il tubo di scarico
non deve presentare strozzature o
attorcigliamenti.
Montare il tubo flessibile tra lo scarico
della pompa e quello fuori bordo.
Nota! Un tubo troppo lungo finirebbe
per piegarsi impedendo il deflusso
regolare del liquido.
Per assicurarne la più lunga durata
pos-sibile, seguire le istruzioni di
montaggio ed evitare di far girare a
vuoto la pompa. Chiudere l’interruttore
direttamente dopo l’utilizzo.

JOHNSON PUMP MUST BE SUPPLIED WITH THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE DATE OF
THE PUMP. THE ACCEPTANCE BY JOHNSON PUMP OF ANY PUMP RETURNED
SHALL NOT BE DEEMED AN ADMISSION THAT SUCH PUMP IS DEFECTIVE
OR IN VIOLATION OF ANY WARRANTY.

CAUTION - Warranty void if seal on pump is broken, if any electric cord is cut back more
than 3 inches, if electric splices become sub-merged, or if pump is installed contrary to
instructions or warnings.
Bilge Pumps are designed to exhaust standing water only. These pumps are not intended
for damage control. Bilge Pump capacities may not be sufficient to prevent flooding from
rapid accumulation of water due to storms, rough weather and/or rapid leaks.
