spuren und/oder Abfärbungen auftreten. Um das zu vermeiden, können
Sie z.B. den RECARO Car Seat Protector verwenden. Ferner weisen wir in
diesem Zusammenhang auf unsere Reinigungshinweise hin, die vor der
ersten Verwendung des Kindersitzes unbedingt beachtet werden sollten.

PROTECTING THE VEHICLE
Traces of use and/or discoloration can appear on some vehicle seats made
from delicate materials (e.g. velour, leather, etc.) if car seats are used. You
can avoid this by using, e.g. the RECARO Car Seat Protector. In this con

text also see our cleaning directions. It is essential that these are followed
before the first use of the child seat.
PER LA PROTEZIONE DELLA VETTURA
Su alcuni sedili auto in materiale sensibile (ad es. in velour, pelle, ecc.),
l’uso dei seggiolini auto può lasciare eventuali tracce d’uso e/o intaccare il
colore. Per evitare ciò è possibile usare ad es. RECARO Car Seat Protector.
Inoltre, in questo contesto ricordiamo le nostre istruzioni per la pulizia
che devono essere assolutamente osservate prima del primo uso del
seggiolino auto.

DER RICHTIGE PLATZ IM FAHRZEUG
Dies ist ein Kinderrückhaltesystem der Kategorie „i-Size“. Es ist nach
der Regelung ECE R129 zur Verwendung auf solchen Fahrzeugsitzen
genehmigt worden, die gemäß den Angaben des Fahrzeugherstellers im
Fahrzeughandbuch für i-Size Rückhaltesysteme geeignet sind. Verfügt Ihr
Fahrzeug über keinen i-Size Sitzplatz, überprüfen Sie bitte anhand der auf der
Homepage befindlichen Typenliste, ob der Einbau erlaubt ist.
WICHTIG: Eine komplette Liste der Fahrzeuge finden Sie unter

Hinweis: Wenn das Kinderrückhaltesystem in der maximalen, rückwärts
gerichteten Position installiert wird, passt es möglicherweise nicht in alle
dafür genehmigten Fahrzeuge.
Bitte überprüfen Sie, ob alle möglichen Positionen des Kinderrückhalte
-
systems (Liegepositionen und Kopfstützenverstellung) in Ihrem Fahrzeug
einstellbar sind.
WARNUNG! Weder der i-Size Kindersitz noch die i-Size Basis dürfen mit
anderen Systemen kombiniert und verwendet werden. Die Zulassung
erlischt, sobald etwas verändert wird.
Falls Ihr Auto nicht mit ISOFIX ausgestattet ist, wenden Sie sich an den
Fahrzeughersteller. In Ausnahmefällen kann der Kindersitz auch vorne
auf dem Beifahrersitz verwendet werden. Beachten Sie dabei bitte die
folgenden Punkte:
• Überprüfen Sie, ob der Beifahrersitz mit ISOFIX Anbindungspunkten 1
ausgestattet ist. Ohne ISOFIX ist eine Verwendung nicht möglich.
• Deaktivieren Sie den Beifahrerairbag! Sollte dies in Ihrem Fahrzeug nicht
möglich sein, ist eine Verwendung auf der Beifahrerseite untersagt.
• Die Empfehlungen des Fahrzeugherstellers sind unbedingt zu befolgen!
Gepäckstücke oder andere Gegenstände im Fahrzeug, die bei einem
Unfall Verletzungen verursachen können, müssen immer gut befestigt
werden. Andernfalls können sie sich zu tödlichen Geschossen im Fahrzeug
verwandeln.

CORRECT POSITION IN THE VEHICLE
This is an i-Size Child Restraint System. It is approved to ECE R129, for
use in i-Size compatible vehicle seating positions as indicated by vehicle
manufacturers in the vehicle users’ manual. If your vehicle does not have
an i-Size seating position, please check the vehicle typelist on our home
-
page whether the installation is allowed.
IMPORTANT: For a complete list of cars, please visit www.recaro-kids.com
Note: When the child restraint is installed in the maximum rearward facing
position, it may not fit in all approved vehicles.
Please check that all possible positions of the car seat (recline positions
and headrest adjustment) fit in your car.
WARNING! Neither the i-Size car seat yet the i-Size base may be com
-
bined with other systems and be used. The warranty expires as soon as
something is changed.
If your car is not equipped with ISOFIX, please contact the vehicle
manufacturer. In exceptional cases, however, the child seat can be used
on the front passenger seat. In this case, observe the following points:
• Check whether the passenger seat is fitted with ISOFIX 1. If ISOFIX
is not fitted, the child seat may not be used.
• Deactivate the passenger airbag. If this is not possible in your car, use
of the child seat on the passenger side is prohibited.
• It is imperative that you comply with the car manufacturer‘s recom
-
mendations.
Items of luggage and other loose objects in the car, which could cause
injury in an accident, must always be safely secured. They can become
deadly projectiles in the case of a car accident.
LA POSIZIONE GIUSTA NELLA VETTURA
Questo è un sistema di ritenuta per bambini della categoria “i-Size”. È stato
omologato secondo la norma ECE R129 per l’uso su sedili di autovetture
che, in base ai dati del costruttore del veicolo riportati nel relativo manuale,
siano idonei per l’uso di sistemi di ritenuta i-Size. Se la vostra autovettura
non dispone di un sedile idoneo a seggiolini della categoria i-Size,
controllare nell’elenco dei modelli compatibili riportato sull’homepage se il
montaggio è consentito.
IMPORTANTE: Un elenco completo delle autovetture è riportato al sito
www.recaro-kids.com
Avviso: Se il sistema di ritenuta per bambini viene montato nella posizione
massima nel senso opposto a quello di marcia, è possibile che non sia
adatto a tutte le vetture omologate allo scopo.
Controllare se tutte le posizioni possibili del sistema di ritenuta per bambini
(posizioni sdraiate e regolazione poggiatesta) possono essere impostate
nella vettura.
AVVERTENZA! Né il seggiolinoauto i-Size né la base i-Size possono
essere combinati e usati con altri sistemi. L’omologazione perde validità
in caso di modifiche.
Nel caso l‘auto non fosse provvista di sistema ISOFIX, rivolgersi al
costruttore del veicolo. In casi eccezionali, il seggiolino auto può venire
montato anche davanti, sul sedile del passeggero anteriore. In questo
caso, prestare attenzione ai seguenti punti:
• Verificare che il sedile del passeggero anteriore sia provvisto di punti
di attacco ISOFIX 1. Senza sistema ISOFIX, l’uso non è consentito.
• Disattivare l’airbag passeggero anteriore! Nel caso questo non fosse
possibile nella propria vettura, il montaggio sul lato del passeggero
anteriore è vietato.
• Seguire assolutamente le raccomandazioni del costruttore della
vettura!

auf. Ihr Kind kann sich daran verbrennen. Schützen Sie Ihr Kind und den
Kindersitz vor intensiver Sonneneinstrahlung (z.B. indem Sie ein helles
Tuch über die Schale legen).
WARNUNG! Dieser Sitz ist nicht für die Verwendung mit einem norma

len Fahrzeuggurt geeignet. Wenn Sie versuchen, den Sitz mit dem Gurt
zu sichern, kann es bei einem Unfall zu schweren oder gar tödlichen
Verletzungen des Kindes sowie der übrigen Fahrzeuginsassen kommen.

net sind, ist die Verwendung des Kindersitzes nicht zulässig. Auf rück-
wärtsgerichteten Fahrzeugsitzen, wie z.B. in einem Van oder Minibus, ist
die Verwendung ebenfalls nicht erlaubt. Der Kindersitz muss auch dann,
wenn er nicht benutzt wird, immer mit dem ISOFIX System befestigt
sein. Bereits bei einer Notbremsung oder einem geringen Aufprall kann
ein unbefestigter Sitz andere Mitfahrer und Sie selbst verletzen.
WARNUNG! Verwenden Sie den RECARO Kio nie auf einem Sitz, auf
dem ein Frontairbag aktiviert ist. Dies gilt nicht für sogenannte Seiten

VERWENDUNG IM FAHRZEUG
Abhängig von Körpergröße und Alter kann der RECARO Kio vorwärtsge-
richtet und rückwärtsgerichtet verwendet werden.
HINWEIS! Unfallstatistiken belegen, dass ein rückwärtsgerichteter Trans

port Ihres Kindes im Fahrzeug am sichersten ist. Deshalb empfehlen wir,
den RECARO Kio so lange wie möglich rückwärtsgerichtet zu verwenden.

WARNING! Never leave your child unattended in the car. The plastic
parts in the child restraint system heat up in sun and the child may sus

tain burns. Protect your child and the car seat from direct sun exposure
(e.g. by covering it with a light colored cloth).
WARNING! The seat is not suitable for use with a normal car seatbelt. If
the seat is secured with normal car seatbelt, in case of an accident the
child and other occupants of the car may be severely injured or killed.
WARNING! The child seat is not allowed to be used on vehicle seats,
which are installed at right angles to the direction of travel. The child
seat should not be used on rearward-facing seats, for example in a
van or minibus. The child seat must always be secured in place with
the ISOFIX system, even when not in use. If you have to perform an
emergency stop or if you are involved in a minor collision, an unsecured
seat can injure you and other passengers.
WARNING! Never use RECARO Kio on a car seat with an activated
front airbag. This does not apply to so-called side airbags.
USE OF THE SEAT IN THE CAR
Depending on age and size the RECARO Kio may be used forward-facing
and rearward-facing.
NOTE! Accident statistics verify that in a vehicle the rearward-facing
transport of your child is the safest. Therefore we recommend to use the
RECARO Kio as long as possible in rearward-facing position.

AVVERTENZA! Non lasciare mai incustodito il vostro bambino
nell’autovettura. I componenti di plastica del seggiolino auto al sole si
riscaldano. Il bambino può subire ustioni. Proteggere il bambino e il
seggiolino auto dai forti raggi del sole (ad es. coprendo il seggiolino con
un panno chiaro).
AVVERTENZA! Questo seggiolino non è adatto all’uso con una cintura
di sicurezza della vettura normale. Se si fissa il seggiolino con la cintura,
in caso di incidente il bambino e gli altri occupanti possono andare
incontro a lesioni gravi o addirittura mortali.
AVVERTENZA! Il seggiolino auto non può essere usato su sedili auto
disposi trasversalmente alla direzione di marcia. L’utilizzo del seggiolino
auto è vietato anche su sedili con orientamento contrario al senso di
marcia, come nel caso di van e minibus. Il seggiolino auto anche se non
in uso deve essere sempre fissato nella vettura con il sistema ISOFIX.
Già in caso di una frenata di emergenza o di una collisione minima, un
seggiolino non fissato può ferire i passeggeri e il conducente stesso.
AVVERTENZA! Non usare mai RECARO Kio su un sedile per il quale sia
attivato un airbag frontale. Ciò non vale per i cosiddetti airbag laterali.
USO NELLA VETTURA
A seconda dell’altezza e dell’età, RECARO Kio può essere usato nel senso
di marcia e nel senso opposto a quello di marcia.
AVVISO! Le statistiche sugli incidenti dimostrano che un trasporto del
bambino nella vettura nel senso opposto a quello di marcia è quello più
sicuro. Pertanto consigliamo di usare RECARO Kio quanto più a lungo
possibile nel senso opposto a quello di marcia.

Rückwartsgerichtete Verwendung (60-105 cm)
Wir empfehlen den RECARO Kio bis zu einer Körpergröße von 105 cm und
max. 18 kg gegen die Fahrtrichtung zu verwenden.
WARNUNG! Bis zu einem Alter von 15 Monaten und einer Körpergröße
von 75 cm ist dies zwingend vorgesehen. Doch auch darüber hinaus

Vorwärtsgerichtete Verwendung (76-105 cm)
Eine vorwärtsgerichtete Verwendung ist frühestens ab dem 16. Lebens

monat und bei mind. 76 cm Körpergröße zulässig.
HINWEIS! Der Indikator an der Kopfstütze zeigt zusätzlich an, ab
welcher Größe des Kindes ein Umbau auf vorwärtsgerichtet frühestens
empfohlen werden kann. Für nähere Details lesen Sie bitte den Abschnitt:
„VORWÄRTSGERICHTETE VERWENDUNG (76-105 cm und älter als 15
Monate)“.
HINWEIS! Neugeborene und Kleinkinder, die noch nicht selbstständig
sitzen können (bis ca. 1 Jahr), sollten aus orthopädischen und sicherheits

technischen Gründen immer in der flachsten Liegeposition rückwärtsge-
richtet transportiert werden.
HINWEIS! Achten Sie darauf, dass das Kind außerhalb der Reichweite der
beweglichen Teile ist, während Sie den Sitz verstellen. Halten Sie das Kind

NOTE! Newborns and infants who are not yet able to sit up by themselves
(up to around 1 year) should, for orthopedic and safety reasons, always be
transported in the flattest recline position rearward-facing.
NOTE! The child should be clear of any loose parts while making
adjustments with the seat. Keep children away from the seat, during the
installation and de-installation in the car. There is a risk that child`s fingers
can be trapped and are injured by unavoidable scissoring actions.

AVVISO! L’indicatore del poggiatesta mostra anche a partire da quale al

tezza minima del bambino può essere consigliato il passaggio al trasporto
nel senso di marcia. Per maggiori dettagli leggere il paragrafo: “USO NEL

AVVISO! Neonati e bambini piccoli non ancora in grado di stare seduti
da soli (fino a circa un anno di età) per motivi ortopedici e di sicurezza do

vrebbero essere trasportati sempre nella posizione più sdraiata, nel senso
opposto a quello di marcia.
AVVISO! Prestare attenzione che il bambino sia lontano dalle parti mobili
durante la regolazione del seggiolino. Tenere lontano il bambino dal
seggiolino mentre viene smontato dalla vettura o montato in quest’ultima.
Altrimenti sussiste il pericolo che le dita del bambino rimangono incastrate
o vengano ferite in seguito a taglio.

Achten Sie zum Schutz aller Fahrzeuginsassen stets darauf, dass:
• die umklappbaren Rückenlehnen der Fahrzeugsitze eingerastet sind und
sich in einer aufrechten Position befinden
• bei Einbau des Kindersitzes auf dem Beifahrersitz, dieser in der hinters

ten Position steht
• im Fahrzeug alle beweglichen Gegenstände gesichert sind
• alle Personen im Fahrzeug angeschnallt sind
WARNUNG! NIE ein Baby im Auto auf dem Schoß halten. Durch die
enormen Kräfte, die bei einem Unfall frei werden, können Sie das Baby
unmöglich festhalten. Schnallen Sie sich und ein Kind niemals zusammen
mit einem Autogurt an.
Hinweis: Wenn das Kinderrückhaltesystem in der maximalen, rückwärts
oder vorwärts gerichteten Position installiert wird, passt es möglicherwei

se nicht in alle dafür genehmigten Fahrzeuge.
Bitte überprüfen Sie, ob alle möglichen Positionen des Kinderrückhalte

systems (Liegepositionen und Kopfstützenverstellung) in Ihrem Fahrzeug

SAFETY IN THE VEHICLE
WARNING! Never use the car seat on a vehicle seat with an activated
front airbag. This does not apply to so-called side airbags.
NOTE! The large-volume front airbag expands explosively and may cause
your child serious injury or even death.
WARNING! The car seat and the base must always be secured correctly
in the vehicle even when not in use. In case of an emergency brake or
accident, an unsecured car seat may injure other passengers or yourself.
In order to guarantee the best possible safety for all passengers make
sure that:
• foldable backrests in the vehicle are locked in their upright position
• when installing the child seat on the front passenger seat, adjust the
vehicle seat in rearmost position
• you properly secure all objects likely to cause injury in the case of an
accident
• all passengers in the vehicle are buckled up
WARNING! NEVER hold a baby on your lap in a vehicle. The forces released
in a collision are way too high for any person to hold on to the baby.
Never secure yourself and the child with only one vehicle seat belt.
Note: When the child restraint is installed in the maximum rearward or
forward facing position, it may not fit in all approved vehicles. Please check
that all possible positions of the car seat (recline positions and headrest
adjustment) fit in your car.
SICUREZZA NELLA VETTURA
AVVERTENZA! Non usare il seggiolinoauto su un sedile per il quale sia

frenata di emergenza o di una collisione minima, componenti non fissati
possono ferire i passeggeri e il conducente stesso.
Per la sicurezza di tutti gli occupanti della vettura prestare sempre
attenzione che
• gli schienali ribaltabili dei sedili della vettura siano bloccati e in posizione
verticale
• in caso di montaggio del seggiolino auto sul sedile del passeggero
anteriore, quest’ultimo sia nella posizione più posteriore possibile
• nella vettura tutti gli oggetti mobili siano fissati
• tutti gli occupanti della vettura abbiano allacciato la cintura di sicurezza
AVVERTENZA! NON trasportare MAI un neonato in auto tenendolo in
braccio. Le forze enormi che vengono liberate in caso di incidente rendo
-
no impossibile tener fermo il neonato. Non allacciare mai con la cintura di
sicurezza se stessi e il bambino contemporaneamente.
Avviso: Se il sistema di ritenuta per bambini viene montato nella posizione
massima nel senso di marcia o opposto ad esso, è possibile che non sia
adatto a tutte le vetture omologate allo scopo.
Controllare se tutte le posizioni possibili del sistema di ritenuta per bambini
(posizioni sdraiate e regolazione poggiatesta) possono essere impostate
nella vettura.
