voice transmission and for connection to the LAN. The OpenScape Desk Phone
CP700X can be also connected to Wi-Fi. The phone can also be used as a work-
station device. Any other use is regarded as unintended.
Telephone type

telephone can be found on the underside of the base unit. Specific details con-
cerning your communication platform can be obtained from your administrator.
Please have this information ready when you contact the service department re-
garding faults or problems with the product.
Speakerphone quality and display legibility
To ensure good speakerphone quality, the area in front of the telephone (front
right) should be kept clear.
The optimum handsfree distance is approx. 50 cm.
Proceed as follows to optimize display legibility:
Turn the phone and tilt the display so that you have a frontal view of the
display while eliminating light reflections.
Single-line telephone/multi-line telephone
Your OpenScape Desk Phone CP700 can be used as "multi-line telephone".
This means that multiple lines can be configured, which is not the case with sin-
gle-line phones. Each line is assigned an individual phone number that you can
use to make and receive calls.
The programmable keys are configured as line keys on multi-line phones
page 64.
All lines and their status is displayed in the Favorites screen which can be con-
figured through the 12 available programmable keys. You can add more lines by
attaching one or more OpenScape Key Module 600s to your phone.
When using a multi-line phone to make and receive calls, certain particularities
must be taken into account page 151.
The service department can only help you if you experience problems or
defects with the phone itself.
Should you have any questions regarding operation, your specialist retail-
er or network administrator will be glad to assist you. For queries regard-
ing connection of the telephone, please contact your network provider.
