EN: The internal rescue lanyard for helicopters AW 169 (g. 1) is made up of:
- 4 green straps - with handrail function (B).
- 3 red straps - with holding function (C).
This device is suitable for installation on cabin ceilings in AW 169 helicopters and for with-
holding the people present inside the cabin.
Each red strap (C) can simultaneously hold up to 2 people.
Warning: do not secure yourself to the green straps (B), they do not have holding
function, but are only meant as a handrail! (g. 4).
- Capacity of the individual straps: 3 kN (breaking load > 15 kN),
- Breakage of the load indicators (G): 2.8-3 kN

2 - GENERAL INFORMATION
Users must read and perfectly understand the information provided by the manufacturer
(hereinafter information) before using the device. This information relates to the character-
istics, services, assembly, disassembly, maintenance, conservation, disinfection, etc of the
device; even though it does include some suggestions on how to use the products, it must
not be considered as a true to life instruction manual.
2.1 WARNINGS AND LIMITATIONS OF USE:
- This device must be used only by individuals that are physically suitable and have been
trained (and educated) in its use and, during training activities, subjected to the direct con-
trol of instructors/supervisors who can guarantee their safety.
- Do not use the device until you have read this entire operating manual.
- This device can be used combined with personal protective equipment that complies
with the regulation (EU) 2016/425 when compatible with the relevant information from the
manufacturer.
- It is strictly forbidden to modify and/or repair the device.
- Avoid exposing the device to heat sources or to contact with chemical substances. Re-
duce direct exposure to sunlight to the minimum necessary.
- At low temperatures and in the presence of humidity, ice may form. This, on textile devic-
es, may reduce exibility and increase the risk of cuts and abrasions.
All our devices are tested/inspected piece by piece in accordance with the procedures of
the Quality System certied according to the UNI EN ISO 9001 standard.
3 - SPECIFIC INFORMATION
3.1 MODE OF USE
3.1.1 INSTALLATION
Detach the connection rings (A), following the helicopter manufacturer’s instructions.
- Position the internal rescue lanyard as shown in gure 3, so that:
- The eyelets (E) and stitching (F) of the straps face the oor of the helicopter.
- The load indicators (G) are on the side opposite to the winch.
Therefore
- Connect the cabin ceiling connection rings (A), following the helicopter manufacturer’s
instructions.
3.1.2 CONNECTION
The red straps for the internal rescue lanyard must be connected by means of a longe that
is sufciently long to reduce the potential fall to a maximum of 50 cm (g. 5).
Examples of correct connection:
- With the possibility of moving along the strap (C) and with movement limitation by the
eyelet (E) - g. 6.
- Up to a maximum of 2 people (g. 7).
Warning: Examples of incorrect and dangerous connection (g. 8):
- More than 2 people for each red strap (C).
- More than 1 person for each eyelet (E).
- To the connection rings on the helicopter ceiling (A).
4 - MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS
4.1 MAINTENANCE
Device maintenance consists of:
- Cleaning the metal parts with a damp cloth and then drying them.
- Washing of textile parts in warm drinking water (40°C), possibly with the addition of a
delicate detergent.
Rinse and leave it to dry without leaving it in the direct sunlight.
Important: absolutely avoid:
- Spinning the device and drying it with direct heat sources or dryers.
- Using chemical products to clean or lubricate the device.
4.2 REPAIRS
Repairs must be carried out by the manufacturer only.
Users are allowed only to replace the parts mentioned in the nomenclature table with
new and original parts.
5 - STORAGE
After cleaning and drying, store the device in a dry place, at room temperature, chemi-
cally neutral (absolutely avoid salty and/or acidic environments), and far from UV rays,
cutting edges, heat sources, humidity, corrosive substances, or other possibly compro-
mising conditions.
Important: Do not store this device when wet!
6 - CHECKS, INSPECTIONS AND SERVICING
6.1 CHECKS BEFORE AND AFTER USE
Before and after each use, it is necessary to check the device and make sure that:
- The textile parts do not show signs of cuts, burns, hardening, variations in thickness,
residue of chemical products, excessive uff, and wear - in particular in the areas in
contact with the cabin ceiling connection rings (A).
- The markings, including labels, are legible.
- The load indicators (G) are intact.
The results of checks before and after use must be recorded on a Check Register, an
example of which is provided.
6.2 INSPECTIONS
The devices must be inspected, at least once a year, by a PPE inspector from KONG.
The outcome of inspections must be recorded on the Device Inspections Register, an
example of which is provided.
6.3 SERVICING
No servicing activities are required for this device.
7 - PRODUCT LIFE AND GUARANTEE
7.1 PRODUCT LIFE
The product life is 6 years after the year of manufacture (indicated in the serial number),
with a maximum period of 3 years after rst use, under the condition that:
- maintenance and storage are carried out respectively as described in chapters 4 and 5.
- Checks and inspections produce positive results.
- The device is used correctly.
7.2 DISPOSAL
Except for what is indicated by more restrictive standards and procedures in terms of dis-
posal, this device, unless contaminated, can be disposed of as normal urban solid waste.
Important: Devices that have not passed checks or inspections must be made unusable
and eliminated.
7.3 GUARANTEE
The manufacturer guarantees that the device complies with regulations in force at the
time of production. The guarantee covering faults is limited to production defects and raw
materials. It does not include wear and tear, oxidation, damages caused by improper use
and/or during competition, incorrect maintenance, transport, conservation, storage, etc.
The guarantee becomes void as soon as the device is modied or tampered with. The
validity corresponds to the legal guarantee of the country where the device was sold by
the manufacturer, with effect from the date of sale. After this period no claim can be made
against the manufacturer. Any request for repair or replacement under this warranty must
be accompanied by a proof of purchase. If the defect is accepted, the manufacturer, at its
sole discretion, will repair, replace or refund the device. Under no circumstances does the
manufacturer’s liability extend beyond the invoice price of the device.
7.4 LEGAL OBLIGATIONS
Professional and recreational activities are often regulated by specic national laws that
may impose specic limits and/or requirements for the use of this device. The user is
obliged to know and apply these laws, which may in some cases impose obligations
different from those contained in this information.

2 - INFORMAZIONI GENERALI
Le informazioni fornite dal fabbricante (di seguito informazioni) devono essere lette e ben comprese
dall’utilizzatore prima dell’impiego del dispositivo. Le informazioni riguardano la descrizione delle
caratteristiche, delle prestazioni, del montaggio, dello smontaggio, della manutenzione, della
conservazione, della disinfezione, ecc. del dispositivo, anche se contengono alcuni suggerimenti di
impiego non devono essere considerate un manuale d’uso nelle situazioni reali.
2.1 AVVERTENZE E LIMITAZIONI D’USO:
- Questo dispositivo deve essere utilizzato solo da persone sicamente idonee e formate (informate
e addestrate) all’uso e, durante le attività di formazione, sottoposte al controllo diretto di formatori/
supervisori che ne garantiscono la sicurezza.
- Non utilizzare il dispositivo no a quando non sia stato letto e compreso il presente manuale d’uso in
ogni sua parte,
- Questo dispositivo può essere usato in abbinamento a DPI conformi al regolamento (UE) 2016/425
quando compatibile con le relative informazioni del fabbricante,
- E’ assolutamente vietato modicare e/o riparare il dispositivo,
- Evitare l’esposizione del dispositivo a fonti di calore e al contatto con sostanze chimiche. Ridurre al
necessario l’esposizione diretta al sole.
- A temperature basse e in presenza di umidità può formarsi del ghiaccio che, sui dispositivi tessili, può
ridurre la essibilità e aumentare il rischio di taglio e abrasione,

3 - INFORMAZIONI SPECIFICHE
3.1 MODALITÀ DI UTILIZZO
3.1.1 INSTALLAZIONE
Smontare i punti di vincolo (A) seguendo le prescrizioni del costruttore dell’elicottero.
- Posizionare la linea interna di trattenuta come in g. 3, in modo che:
- le asole (E) e le cuciture (F) delle fettucce siano rivolte verso il pavimento dell’elicottero,
- gli indicatori di carico (G) siano sul lato opposto al verricello,
quindi,
- collegare i punti di vincolo del cielo cabina (A) seguendo le prescrizioni del costruttore dell’elicottero,
3.1.2 COLLEGAMENTO
Il collegamento alle fettucce rosse della linea interna di trattenuta deve essere effettuato mediante una
longe di lunghezza tale da ridurre una potenziale caduta ad un massimo di 50 cm (g. 5).
Esempi di corretto collegamento:
- con possibilità di effettuare spostamenti lungo la fettuccia (C) e con limitazione di spostamento
tramite l’asola (E) - g. 6,
- no ad un massimo di 2 persone (g. 7).
Attenzione, esempi di scorretto e pericoloso collegamento (g. 8):
- in più di 2 persone ad ogni fettuccia rossa (C),
- in più di 1 persona ad ogni asola (E),
- ai punti di vincolo del cielo cabina (A).
4 - MANUTENZIONE E RIPARAZIONE
4.1 MANUTENZIONE
La manutenzione di questo dispositivo prevede:
- la pulizia delle parti metalliche con un panno umido e l’asciugatura,
- il lavaggio delle parti tessili con acqua potabile tiepida (max 40°C) eventualmente con l’aggiunta di
un detergente delicato.
Sciacquare e lasciare asciugare evitando l’esposizione diretta al sole.
Importante, evitare assolutamente di:
- centrifugare il dispositivo e di asciugarlo con fonti di calore dirette o asciugatrici,
- utilizzare prodotti chimici per pulire o lubricare il dispositivo.
4.2 RIPARAZIONI
Le riparazioni devono essere svolte esclusivamente dal costruttore.
All’utilizzatore è consentito sostituire solo le parti menzionate nel riquadro nomenclatura con nuove
e originali.
5 - IMMAGAZZINAMENTO
Dopo la pulitura e l’asciugatura immagazzinare il dispositivo in un luogo asciutto, a temperatura
ambiente, chimicamente neutro (evitare assolutamente ambienti salini e/o acidi) e lontano da
radiazioni U.V, spigoli taglienti, fonti di calore, umidità, sostanze corrosive o altre possibili condizioni
pregiudizievoli.
Importante: non immagazzinare il dispositivo bagnato.
6 - CONTROLLI, ISPEZIONI E REVISIONI
6.1 CONTROLLI PRE E POST USO
Prima e dopo ogni utilizzo è necessario controllare il dispositivo ed assicurarsi che:
- le parti tessili non presentino tagli, bruciature, indurimenti, variazione di spessore, residui di prodotti
chimici, eccessiva peluria, usura, in particolare vericare le zone in contatto con i punti di vincolo del
cielo cabina (A),
- le marcature, comprese le etichette, siano leggibili,
- gli indicatori di carico (G) siano integri.
Gli esiti dei controlli pre e post uso devono essere registrati sul Registro dei Controlli, di cui si riporta
un esempio.
6.2 ISPEZIONI
I dispositivi devono essere ispezionati, con frequenza almeno annuale, da un Ispettore D.P.I. KONG.
Gli esiti delle ispezioni devono essere registrati sul Registro delle Ispezioni del dispositivo, di cui si
riporta un esempio.
6.3 REVISIONI
Non sono previste attività di revisione per questo dispositivo.
7 - DURATA DEL PRODOTTO E GARANZIA
7.1 DURATA
La durata del dispositivo è di 6 anni dall’anno di produzione (riportato nel serial number) con un periodo
massimo di 3 anni dal primo utilizzo, a condizione che:
- la manutenzione e l’immagazzinamento siano effettuati come descritto rispettivamente ai capitoli 4 e 5,
- gli esiti dei controlli e delle ispezioni siano positivi,
- il dispositivo sia utilizzato correttamente.
7.2 SMALTIMENTO
Salvo quanto previsto da norme o procedure più restrittive in materia di smaltimento, questo dispositivo,
se non è stato contaminato, può essere smaltito come normale riuto solido urbano.
Importante: rendere inutilizzabili ed eliminare i dispositivi che non hanno superato i controlli o le
ispezioni.
7.3 GARANZIA
Il fabbricante garantisce la conformità del dispositivo alle norme vigenti al momento della produzione.
La garanzia per vizi è limitata ai difetti delle materie prime e di fabbricazione, non comprende la
normale usura, l’ossidazione, i danni provocati da uso non conforme e/o in competizioni, da non
corretta manutenzione, trasporto, conservazione o immagazzinamento, ecc.. La garanzia decade
immediatamente nel caso vengano apportate modiche o manomissioni al dispositivo. La validità
corrisponde alla garanzia legale del paese in cui è stato venduto il dispositivo, a decorrere dalla data
di vendita, da parte del fabbricante. Decorso tale termine nessuna pretesa potrà essere avanzata nei
confronti del fabbricante. Qualsiasi richiesta di riparazione o sostituzione in garanzia dovrà essere
accompagnata da una prova di acquisto. Se il difetto è riconosciuto, il fabbricante si impegna a riparare
o, a sua discrezione, a sostituire o rimborsare il dispositivo. In nessun caso la responsabilità del
fabbricante si estende oltre il prezzo di fattura del dispositivo.
7.4 OBBLIGHI DI LEGGE
Le attività professionali e del tempo libero sono sovente regolate da apposite leggi nazionali che possono
imporre limiti e/o obblighi all’utilizzo di questo dispositivo. E’ obbligo dell’utilizzatore conoscere ed
applicare tali leggi che potrebbero prevedere limiti differenti da quanto riportato in queste informazioni.
